Had a really great afternoon I was so nervous I was shaking n I couldn't hold my wee I was bursting but they were quick n really lovely

The baby looked right at the screen n waved which made me cry, it was hiccupping n waving feel relieved I can hopefully start to enjoy this now x

creepy n others BMI is a load of pap. I think we're the only country who pay it any attention. Imagine the BMI of a rugby player......... yet fit

Last preg they told me I was pre obese, I didn't pay any attention as I'm a size 12- 14 and always have been.
I came home and my DP said 'have they got eyes' got the tape measure out and found I was actually 5'5' where as I'd always thought I was 5'3'.
I didn't even bother splitting hairs with MW's etc as its just a govt initiative and they're obsessed.

You know yourself if you've got probs in that area.........

Hormonal you could well be having twins, all the stats say the are much more common in older mothers as the body has a ttendency to shed eggs. I'm definitely bigger than I was with just one and I've also been more sick..

I found out at 8 weeks because I went to ePu for a scan as I had some bleeding and that's where we found out! I spent the next 4 weeks worrying that one would vanish (vanishing twin syndrome) but looks like they're both ok for now! Good luck for your scan!!

anyone else getting a really bad back? if so how are u dealing with it? i get it work in the office chairs and in bed ffs

Glad you enjoyed your scan boutique, the waving sounds really cute! I had mine today as well and it was amazing watching it move around (but quite hard to believe it was actually in there!).

I think that's an old list as I've gone back to having one (instead of 2) impending babies and I think there's a couple of people on there that have since left... I'm on phone so can't redo but can try do tomorow at some point if someone doesn't before x

I'm doing ok, thank you everyone. Spent yesterday with friends and they were all amazing.
After all this gender speculation I am going to have a Baby bond scan before my next NHS one. I want to be able to say he or she rather than it!

Creepy ? My mum had a blood clot whilst on the pill, and my grandfather (her father) died of a thrombosis, so I think I have to have some extra something or others too. I?ve forgotten what the midwife said though?

My EDD is wrong on the new list ? but I?m a bit confused as to what else is wrong, so will leave it to somebody far more intelligent to sort out! Whoever does it I?m due 20/01/13, scan was 04/07/12.

I?m finally getting over the worst of my symptoms - they?re easing off gradually. Definitely have more energy now ? possibly time to start nesting!

on the itchy nips front allchik right royal pain when its up to tricks and its actuually hurting to scratch them.

m.y back seems better if im up moving about. i managed to sleep last night it varies from being at the bottom of my ribs to between shoulders or top of my bum. mum lent me her tens machine... but now im not wanting to over use it else i will be immune to its powers when i want it to hide labour pains!

Sorry you are having back issues Lora, it's lousy and even worse that you can't get comfy in bed which you would hope would be a source of rest!

Cupcakes I'm glad that you are feeling better, it gives me hope as we are due around the same time.

Octane I'm really pleased that you had a good day yesterday. I really feel for you. It will be lovely having a gender scan too - I found out with all my previous pregancies and it helped me to prepare and bond with the baby. I think that this time we are going to have a surprise though...after three girls anything other than a girl will be a bit of a shock!

I've had a fierce 24 hours...I had a sudden big red bleed yesterday afternoon, followed by three further smaller bleeds. I rang my midwife who put me onto the EPU and I had a scan this morning. Unbelievably my baby is absolutely fine and was flying around doing flips and being generally very cute. Although my 12 week scan is on Monday the sonographer had a quick look at the nuchal fold which she said looks small and all the limbs and organs etc are present and correct. What a rollercoaster, I can barely believe that it could all be ok after so much blood. She could see that my cervix was closed and could also see the source of the bleeding which she said was nothing to worry about. Phew. Time for a rest I think!

Bloody hell Spring! that must have been so scary! Glad it all got checked quickly for you....a wknd of sofa lolling and crap tv watching is on the cards for you then? :)
Lora I have a memory foam bed too....hmmmm....backs ok today, just feels kinda twingy.
Bit of a TMI question for you all (again!!) Have any of you been having a throbbing sensation around your vulva?Its not painful and its hard to describe...like pulsating?? thought it may be down to extra blood flow to that area??? Have it a few times a day.

allchik yes I have a throbbing fanjo too!! :o It's v weird. No idea what it is but extra blood flow sounds about right. Also getting itchy nips and my knockers seem to have suddenly ballooned. Will have to bite the bullet and buy some new bras soon. And some bigger clothes as I'm bursting out of all of mine.

V glad all is ok Spring and that you got checked out so quickly, must have been v scary... what time is your scan on Monday? Mine's 9.45am and I can't wait, though am also bricking it!

Tugs My scan is at 9.40 am. Hopefully I won't get any surprises having seen that everything is ok today. I'm sure that you will be fine. If you have the money I'd highly recommend Rigby and Peller for your bras. They are fantastic.

I am still in shock after the past 24 hours. I am so delighted that my baby is ok and it just looked so lovely. There has been much weeping in Chez Spring recently!

I haven't really noticed having a throbbing fanjo but I'll be on the lookout for it now!! I just have enormous boobs, feel sick if I don't eat anything, am getting ridiculous cravings (I NEED a burger king whopper), and my tummy sticks out. Worst thing is not being able to stop eating. I could eat all day.

Newbie I read about your nuchal scan, I think that measurement is within the normal but you'll worry whatever as it's always like that when waiting for those results, they seem to take ages. The odds are massively in your favour though.

Ladies re the 'nub' discussions earlier - so if it's a horizontal nub means a girl? What about no nub?!

Octane glad you're doing ok. Just remember you have all your real friends plus all of us virtual ones here and we're all on your side!! If he's right for you it'll work out. That's great that your having a Babybond scan, it's a lovely experience.

birdies no nub just means they haven't given you a pic at the right angle ;) my ds scan never had a nub.

I've just checked and there's no nub on my pics, but we're not finding out the sex so it doesn't matter. I seem to be in the minority on that front, do most people find out?

No throbbing in the fanjo area here but everything seems a bit oversized down there .

I saw the midwife today for my 16 week appointment (even though I'm only 14+5). It was a MUCH quicker affair than the booking in one. I did get to hear my baby's heartbeat which was lovely, she said it might be a bit early so don't panic if she couldn't find it, but she found it straight away using a doppler machine. Other than that it was just a swizzle stick in my wee and a blood pressure check.

Does anyone else get horrendous headaches that just won't go away? I was at a wedding last night and my headache was building up through the day and I forgot to take paracetamol to the reception. It was absolutely thumping by the end of the night and isn't any better this morning . Is there anything stronger than paracetamol that's ok to take? I've already taken two lots of the stuff.

happyhow AFAIK you can only take paracetamol :( my hubbys a pharmacist and he wont let me have anything else!

anyone else not had any scans at all yet? I feel like I'm the only one who's not seen their little one :(
