Welcome grapes!

And brilliant news creepy.

Does anyone else not feel that pregnant now? It's daft but a few days after the scan now I want another one to prove there's a babba in there again!

PricklyPickle · 02/07/2012 20:34

Sounds like its been a positive day today - apart from the constipation!

I got my dp to call the midwife to make my 16 week appointment and she booked me in for this Friday. I'll only be 14 weeks then, do you think that it matters that it's two weeks early? Does anyone know if they do any tests?

OP posts:
PricklyPickle · 02/07/2012 20:50

birdies i stopped feeling pregnant after my scan too, but now i've got a tiny bump so there's no mistaking it now!

OP posts:
BumgrapesofWrath · 02/07/2012 21:47

What a lovely welcome - thank you!

Prickly I understand it's 16 weeks because that's when they think they can reliably hear the baby's heartbeat.

PricklyPickle · 02/07/2012 22:12

Thanks grapes. I might try to put it back a bit then. By the way i just got the meaning of your name Grin

OP posts:
BumgrapesofWrath · 02/07/2012 22:29

Yes - it's a reference to the condition I was in after giving birth to DS!

Birdies · 02/07/2012 22:47

Let's hope no one changes their name to "fanjo-in-bits" after January!! Grapes I couldnt bring myself to say "welcome bum", grapes sounded more, well, welcoming :o

Prickly my tummy sticks out but it's just the bottom bit that counts yeah? Not the flabby top bit?! It's quite firm at the bottom so I'm hoping that's my babba (though I should know really having had my DD not so long ago!).

Night night everyone :)

happyhow · 03/07/2012 00:07

My head is currently swimming with "travel system" information! I've been visiting my mum and she wants to see what a Bugaboo Chameleon looks like as I would like one but nobody in the surrounding area stocks them! I can't believe they're not sold down here but never mind. Have spent ages on the Internet finding pictures, comparing sizes/prices, reviews etc. Mum was horrified at the prices considering her coach built silver cross pram cost £75! (that was 36yrs ago though when my sis was born...)

Went so far as buying a couple of little things yesterday for the sprog - blanket, bootees shaped like giraffes and a wee teether toy thing - but won't buy any more. I just couldn't resist as they were SO cute!!!

Congrats on more good news for people.

Birdies - I haven't felt pregnant full stop! I could blame the tiredness on 'end of term-itis' if I didn't know otherwise as it hasn't been crippling but that's the only real symptom apart from the afore mentioned toilet issues! I can finally understand how people can go for months without knowing they are pregnant...

Pascha · 03/07/2012 08:47

Well today I am for the first time officially in maternity jeans because I can no longer move the zip up in my normal lovely jeans Hmm. Maternity jeans are rubbish and they all sag and fall down. In fact maternity clothes in general are shite. I had a look at posh dresses over the weekend for a wedding in late september and they are all shite too. I'm sulking because nothing is nice at all. Humph.

MarasmeAbsolu · 03/07/2012 09:18

wait until you need breastfeeding clothes Pascha - now that is shite.
I agree about mat clothes though. Urrgh.

Pascha · 03/07/2012 09:23

Yeah they are shite as well, Marasme. I never bothered before, just pulled the top up or down as necessary.

I have a couple of nice skirts but they are the floaty summer variety and its raining. Last time I was at least a month further on when I broke out the elastic waistbands. Pretty miffed about having to do it at only 14 weeks this time.

Anyway, ignore me, I'm just grumpy today.

Birdies · 03/07/2012 12:01

Does that mean I'm sad for loving maternity clothes?! Blush. Oh how I love my cropped trousers with the stretchy bump band!! I think elasticated waists are the way forward post pregnancy too lol!

octanegirl · 03/07/2012 12:26

Right! Went for scan and even though my letter said today, their computer said tomorrow...luckily they squeezed me in or I was going to cry.
Seems ok - was wiggling about non stop, I had no idea they moved so much! Bizarre. NT measurement was 1.47. I'm assuming this is ok? Bloods won't come back for a while.

I hear you on the jeans front - the only ones that fit me now are some really stretchy Levis I have, I don't know what to do as I can't only wear one pair!!! There must be SOMEWHERE that do nice maternity jeans? Gap?

Pascha · 03/07/2012 12:30

Maybe at 30 weeks when the bump bands are filled and the arse has expanded to hold the trousers up I suppose. But not long after then the bands get itchy and tight and its shite again.

SpringFlowers · 03/07/2012 12:55

Congratulations on your scan Octane. I have jeans coming from Seraphine and Next this week so once they've arrived I'll let you know how they fit. In my experience Gap jeans are way too long - and I am a regular sort of height. At the moment I am wearing a pair of DP jeans that I bought after DD3 was born as I couldn't fit in my own clothes. They are just in a much bigger size than I normally wear and are ok. I've also been using a hair band to hold the button together which has dragged out the use of other jeans. Having had a baby recently I have quite a lot of clothes that were too big pre-pregnancy which I have been wearing. I did do a big online maternity clothing shop yesterday - I figured that I'd buy loads of things and send the ones back that I don't like. I have bought things that I can breastfeed in too. Last time the baby was born and I didn't have a thing to wear!

theboutiquemummy · 03/07/2012 13:00

Afternoon Grunpy girls Grin it must be cos we are all constipated good n proper

I'm such a moody cow at the moment ranting over nothing can't wait for the scan on Thursday 2 more sleeps

am giving pregnancy Pilates a go see if that will help get things moving can't bear the thought of all that pushing n shitting 6 months worth smelly poo in front of any one Blush

DontmindifIdo · 03/07/2012 13:05

I'm out, can someone take me off the list please.

Good luck everyone else.

MamaMary · 03/07/2012 13:17

Hello all,

I've been on holiday so haven't posted for a week - but I had my scan yesterday and all was well. So lovely to see the heartbeat. I have another scan in a couple of weeks when I'll be 13.5 - no idea why I'm getting two scans this time round at this stage Confused but the midwife said the next one will be with the consultant (who is the same consultant I had last time but I never met him once!)

MamaMary · 03/07/2012 13:18

Don'tmind, so sorry to hear that. :(

SpringFlowers · 03/07/2012 13:42

I'm really sorry Don'tmind.

SpringFlowers · 03/07/2012 13:44

Congratulations Mama on your scan today. How lovely to have two scans!

Lulabel27 · 03/07/2012 14:43

I'm so sorry dontmind, make sure you look afterself and give DC1 a big cuddle.

Congratulations to everyone else on their scans thats wonderful there are so many positive ones.

I have my 13 week scan tomorrow (this will be my 3rd scan!) so i can see the little ones and get the NT measurements. Am really nervous i hope they're both ok, i've been doing loads of reading on all the things that can go wrong with identical twins but i've just got remain positive. If my waistline is anything to go by, its all ok Hmm

happyhow i'm just about to clean up my chameleon that i got for dd only 18 months ago so i can sell it on as I need to get a twin buggy with a buggyboard (refuse to get a triple buggy!). Its grey with white hood and footmuff, umbrella, car seat adaptors, cupholder and summer seat liner- brilliant condition and its been wonderful. I'm in SW London if anyone is interested!

SquealyB · 03/07/2012 15:01

Hugs Dontmind - so sorry to hear your news.

octane and mama - great news, I bet you are both chuffed.

Lulabel - good luck tomorrow and I am SW London too and definitely interested in your Bugaboo!

SpringFlowers · 03/07/2012 15:11

Lula The Bugaboo Donkey is the most loveliest double pram in the whole world. It costs the world too, but it is divine. www.bugaboo.com/349 I am trying to justify needing one for dd who will be two and a bit and the new baby Smile

Birdies · 03/07/2012 16:37

dontmind really sorry to hear that, we will miss you.

Good new octane and mama

I'm getting a donkey! As in, the pram. Well, I think I've convinced DH anyway. Apparently the resale value is really good apparently so it doesn't really cost that much Hmm
