Bionicemu BREAST LEAKAGE!! Ohhh Yes, I have so far on a number of occassions. I also head BL with when Pregnant with DS but that didn't start until about 30 weeks. I seem to be leaking quite frequently but I put it down to the fact that I only stopped breast feeding DS at Xmas (he was 5.5 months) and thought that maybe it was like a reaction to all the pregnancy hormones rushing through my body - as though my body remembered r something! I dunno, probably talking shit!! Smile You're not on your own in that dept.

The 'was it planned' question seems to come up all the time in my circle. I think it's bloody rude too. The funny thing is our DS was planned yet when we were asked we said he wasn't as it was actually easier considering our circumstances at the time. This LO wasn't planned AT ALL but what difference does that make anyway. IMO people ask us that question, more often than not, simply becuase we aren't married!! Hmm

DontmindifIdo · 28/06/2012 20:30

oh, and remember up thread we were talking maternity wear and if it was too early to order? Well I think I've gone a step too far. 2 rather lovely breastfeeding tops arrived today Blush In my defence, one is also suitable for maternity wear and doesn't look like a nursing top (it's this jumper) so isn't really that bad to be ordering it now, but the other is rather clearly just bought as a nursing top. I figured January babies, we're going to get cold when sat feeding when out and about, so a nursing jumper rather than just yet another feeding t-shirt was a good investment...

godzookey · 28/06/2012 20:33

Thanks Dontmind - have just been researching places to have private scans and may just cut to the chase and book one privately tomorrow.

Feeling knackered now so may actually now have to call it a night :)

ChutesTooNarrow · 28/06/2012 21:58

Still no scan date for me, 11 weeks tomorrow so also cutting it fine. I have had my booking in appointment today though, and was both surprised and ecstatic that my midwife managed to find the heartbeat! It was such a relief to hear it, as despite the many positive tests I never quite believe it until I have proof.

My midwife is lovely, massive improvement on my last one. She was excited that I want a homebirth and I look to be low-risk and ok to do that. Need to do some research on birthing pools to hire now!

StormBird · 29/06/2012 06:09

SCAN TODAY!!!

Trying to stay positive, finding it tough though!!

We have a small problem too, fridays are my day off from work so the Scan was scheduled well, however, we have no-one to look after DS while we are there!! I have NO family here and OH's family are few and far between too. My childminder also doesn't work fridays. So I'm in a bit of a pickle as I am sure it is frowned upon to have children there during scans!! It seems this is playing on my mind a little too much really but do you think it will be OK to take him??? Obvs my OH wants to be there for the scan, I also need him to be there to hold my hand so it's not he can stay home either....... [hmm[ what to do, what to do!

Do you think I am worrying about this unnecessarily??

Lora1982 · 29/06/2012 06:29

Have fun storm I felt nervous all day... and weeks before... my scan I felt like i do waiting to see if my cars failed its mot. my heart was still going like the clappers when she was scanning cos i couldnt see at first by my boyfriends face was a picture so i knew summat was there... then she was like theres one baby.... heart was still going cos i wa thinking yes but is it alive is it all there etc but she swivelled the screen n i saw it moving like a maniac...VERY surreal.

Also to put your mind at rest there were lots of couples who were there with kids. (including one woman with 4 and they were a nightmare... the couple not the kids they had to be put in a different waiting room cos she was shouting the odds off at one of the poor kids for doing nowt.) Had trouble trying not to laugh and keep a straight face.

Tugstonia · 29/06/2012 07:30

Thanks so much for all your suggestions re this weekend ladies! They're fab. I shall try some of them out and report back. My sister reckons I should just tell them but I am still SO paranoid. Daft really.

godz reckon it's time to get shitty with the hospital about your scan. Crazy that you should have to pay for a private scan. Hope you get your date soon. You too chutes.

Best of luck with your scan today storm!!

Yeah think the "was it planned" question could be because we're not married either! I'd never dream of asking someone that but hey ho.

Have a good day everyone! :)

allchik · 29/06/2012 07:33

Good luck storm,my letter said no children allowed n there were posters on t door saying no more than 2 people allowed, but maybe my hospital is super strict?maybe just phone ahead to put ur mind at rest?...enjoy it!x x x

DontmindifIdo · 29/06/2012 08:11

Godzooky- get shouty before paying out!

Brugmansia · 29/06/2012 08:52

I have my booking in appointment this afternoon.

SquealyB · 29/06/2012 11:48

Best of luck storm hope it all goes well!

brug I had my bookingh in appointment yesterday and it was pretty straight forward, lots of questions about health etc.

Unfortunately as my BMI is over 30 (thought not by very much any more thanks to wedding weight loss!) I have to see an obstetrician as well as a mid-wife. My mid-wife was really nice and re-assuring though and put my mind at east re. syptoms tailing off etc.

Had no idea people were so rude and nosey re. "was it planned" question. But I do find that people seem to think that when it comes to having children they can ask pretty private questions without a second thought. Friends of mine have been TTC for a while and they are constantly being asked by people, "oh no kids yet, is that because you don't want them?" etc. It may sound short tempered but some people really need to learn to mind their own business Grin

StormBird · 29/06/2012 12:43

Ladies, as with my first pregnancy this one will unfortunately end with a termination in the next week! We have Annencephaly again. I cannot believe it! But as we have a beautiful DS we are holding on to the hope that one day we will be here again. Best of luck to all of you. Could someone kindly remove me from the list xxx

SquealyB · 29/06/2012 13:10

Oh storm I am so sorry Thanks.

mrsbugsywugsy · 29/06/2012 13:11

Stormbird I am so sorry to hear that. I'm glad you are staying positive though.

I just had my booking in appointment with the midwife. Everything seemed straightforward and she has marked me down as low-risk. The worst bit was having blood taken, I have ridiculous little veins and it took her a few tries.

She was also encouraging me to think about a home-birth, which surprised me as it is my first. I have to say I am tempted, I like the idea of being at home, and think that living so close to the hospital if there were any complications I could easily transfer in. But my biggest fear is that I will be a complete wuss and be begging for an epidural after the first contraction.

Storm I'm so sorry, also thinking of you

godzookey · 29/06/2012 19:30

Evening Ladies,

Storm sorry to hear your news - you're being very positive and brave xx

My hospital = hassle, after being kept on hold, and getting answerphones messages which said leave a message but we don't checkthe messages every day, i have caved in and booked a private scan on Sunday - it won't do the combined test but it will go someway to putting my mind at ease.

It was just so nice to actually speak to someone and not leave a message and someone who was happy to chat through my concerns re colleague with suspected mumps/glandular fever AND listen to me rant about the hospital. All, whilst i was pacing up and down on the street outside my office.

Bugs - i had same issue at my booking in, about 3 - 4 different attempts to get the blood from 2 veins. Ugh. Making me feel queasy just thinking about it....

CraftyGirly · 29/06/2012 19:32

storm thats awful so sorry to hear that :( take care
