Hi everyone, as we were close to the 1000 message limit i thought i should start a new thread so we could link this one (and we don't all end up wandering in cyberspace for a few days again Grin)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Got to hear the heartbeat Grin

She apologised and said she didn't really need to see me as I get seen at the hospital so much (I told the receptionist that when I called) but it was nice to meet her as she will obviously do home visits when baby comes, she seemed really nice and was talking to dd too.

Eek I'm having another baby!

Bubless get the big stuff first everything else can be bought nearer the time/when you see it on offer don't buy any bottles etc full price because there will always be a sainsburys/asda/boots baby event going on Smile

brooke89 · 25/06/2012 12:17

Bubbles - glad your feeling better, I feel like I'm skiving too, I hate calling in sick! Doc has signed me off for a week and I intend to spend all of it sleeping!

There are three, yes three, slices of cucumber in my tuna and cucumber sandwich that I just paid £2.49 for from the garage Angry

gilsbubbles · 25/06/2012 12:20

House sale was due to complete on friday but I've been caught up in this Nat West fiasco...could do without the stress

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2012 12:22

Oh no, I can't believe they still haven't sorted it out. Are the agents (?) being understanding?

Clarella · 25/06/2012 12:27

My bump also changes hugely - I seem to lose water after a swim which also deflates it as well as what food has been eaten/scoffed!

Bubbless · 25/06/2012 12:27

spotty- glad it went well!
has the realisation of being 'with child' just hit home.. its scary!
ahh you have a point actually.. big stuff.. like? i have no idea, my child stands no chance of growing up to become an actual human
3?! id take it back...

brooke- my docs sign me off for a week at a time as well, although i think they just accept that im ill now as this is the 8th sicknote they have given me!!

gils- thats awful timing, hope they are being understanding..

Clarella · 25/06/2012 12:28

..... and all weight on bum too!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2012 12:29

If you scroll back up to yesterday afternoon I was very bored and did a list Smile

Clarella · 25/06/2012 12:31

Oh no gil, that's horrid - hope they are understanding.

Will do notebook replies, this thread has a rocket on it!

minipie · 25/06/2012 12:32

glad to hear I'm not the only one with an ever changing bump. Grin at growing out the back - my bum is also somewhat larger than usual.

CODwidow · 25/06/2012 12:53

I'm just watching a cosy toes on eBay so that may be my next buy. I am also planning on buying some clothes second hand but thought at least if I buy one pack I feel as though I've started lol.

I've hijacked my mums spare room to store things so she has the stand and car seat so far.

Mw tomorrow so looking forward to hearing the heartbeat, I think that'll be the first time it actually hits me that this is real! Grin

Bubbless · 25/06/2012 12:56

clarella- maybe our DC didnt get the memo about growing inside the belly? mine seems to still be a food-baby..

spotty- ohhhh, fab! i cant wait to actually buy something but im also really nervous with all of the what-ifs.. is that unreasonable or is anyone feeling in the same boat? :/

cod- we have a spare room which will be dc's, but for now its literally a dumping ground.. might have to clear that out!
wow, i havent heard the heartbeat yet but could see it during my dating scan! exciting!

i have no idea how i will keep up with the thread when im back at work!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2012 13:02

Don't forget nct sales, can get some good bargains there.

I won't buy anything until after the 20 week scan probably Smile

Bubbless · 25/06/2012 13:16

spotty- 20 week scan?! 20?! your child will be practically BORN by then?!
i think im thinking like il be giving birth tomorrow.. oh.dear.
nap time, i think!!

knottyhair · 25/06/2012 13:21

Spotty, how lovely to hear the heartbeat! Gil, hope your situation gets sorted out asap, the last thing you need. Bubbless, I haven't bought anything yet, I'm also very nervous especially being 44.

PurplePidjin · 25/06/2012 13:25

One of the (many, spammy) pg emails i got said babies are born an average of 147 days after the first kick, which brings me to mid November Hmm

CODwidow · 25/06/2012 13:34

Im also in the what ifs, I think I feel so lucky to have 4 healthy dc's already that I wonder if something may be wrong this time. Crazy I know!

MyDaydream · 25/06/2012 13:43

Most common argument in our house is me pointing out his family are all grown ups as capable of taking care of themselves. Saying no to his family isn't an option. It's going to cause problems in our parenting too as we're do different with our ideas.

Stacks · 25/06/2012 15:35

I'm a 'what if' worrier too, but also trying to be realistic - if we buy stuff now, we'll just have to store it all. I think putting money aside each month to use closer to the time is a better idea, that way you can still spread the cost, but also bulk buy good offers (like nappies, wet wipes) nearer the time.

Families are awkward, I help my family out with money often, whereas DH's family are self sufficient, though not rich at all. It's hard and frustrating, but it's the way it has to be; my Dad simply doesn't (and can't) earn enough to cover his bills. Daydream maybe you can ask her to save up some money for you to help out with a big purchase - say the pram or the cot? Set up a savings account for your DC and ask her to pay into it. Then when she needs bailed out, you can lend money back knowing it at least went on something useful. Just make sure she knows it's for something specific, useful and beautiful, that she can feel proud of having bought for you. It might not work if she's an impulse buyer, but it's worth a try.

Bubbless · 25/06/2012 16:50

cod- your on your 5th child.. wow.. thats amazing!

i think im starting to think differently about the whole preg situation, i was taken off of my antidepressents as soon as it was found out i was preg and i thought i was doing okay until today; where ive just felt really down etcetc
i dont know what to do as i cant go back on them whilst preg, otherwise why would they have taken me off of them so suddenly? anyone with experience in this?!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2012 16:57

I don't have experience as such but I did take a small dose of anti depressant with dd1 to help with nerve pain oh amitriptyline. Anyway go to your gp and if they're being funny ask them to refer you to a consultant, mine specialises, and runs a specific clinic, on drugs during pregnancy. Also try posting on the mental health section I expect there are some very knowledgeable people there Smile you don't have to suffer I'm sure there is plenty you can try

FriendofDorothy · 25/06/2012 17:23

There are lots of antidepressants that you can take when you are pregnant. You need to discuss it with your GP before your mood drops further and it becomes harder to medicate.

Bubbless · 25/06/2012 17:31

oh.. so if there is stuff i can take then why was my gp so dead set on whipping me off of everything and sending me home?! its not like i was on a low dose..
eurgh, my doctors are rediculas! will book an appt tomorrow- just assumed there was nothing they could do, but with hindsight thats a very stupid thought!
thanks guyss!

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2012 17:36

Lots of GPs are very scared of giving anything to pregnant women! If the doctor you see isn't happy to prescribe you anything then ask them to consult someone who is Smile
