Secret Kick him up the arse!!! Grin I was just coming to say actually how much I think your DS looks like his Dad.

Tink I hope DD1 has had a great birthday!!

Star Lovely to 'see' you. How are your DCs?

I can not wait for school to start. Though we do not have school shoes as the buses here won't let prams on the bus and both of my Mums cars are in the garage. Getting a little worried now.

kayz I think i will haha! He is lovely a lot of the time but yesterday was one of those days! We had a nice day today though so cant complain! Glad we did things my way though as despite in-laws saying they they were ready they arrived at the day out a full hour after us!! Hehe DS does look like DP bless him more as he grows!

How odd re the buses is that due to door access or just a rule?

Tink sounds like DD had a fab day Smile

McKayz · 30/08/2012 19:58

They let buggies on but not ones that look like a pram as they say they can't be folded. It's bloody stupid.

Sounds it what a bunch of fools! When are the boys back to school?

McKayz · 31/08/2012 08:09

DS1 goes back on Tuesday but DS2 doesn't start until the 18th.

SecretCermonials · 31/08/2012 08:34

Oh blimey I can see why you want to get shoes sorted!

SESthebrave · 01/09/2012 15:56

Kayz - that's stupid about the buses! We went on the bus a couple of weeks ago with a buggy for DD and a second buggy for DS! (Admittedly DS's buggy was folded down).
I'm not looking forward to kitting them out for school! Uniform and shoes are expensive!

Star - good to "see" you. Sounds like you're busy!

Secret - hope DP has been more supportive!

tink - glad DD1 had a good birthday

All good here. I've just got my old friend the breast pump out today. I have a keeping in touch day for work on 13th Sept and a friend is going to have DD but she'll need to be able to feed her! Managed to get nearly 2oz out, so not too bad for a first attempt, then we'll see if DD takes it from a bottle later!

DH has been too and fro the Drs a lot recently. He needs to have keyhole surgery on his knee at the end of Sept. You may remember he's had BP problems in the past too. Well they've upped his BP meds and added a second one in and also given him a statin as his cholesterol is slightly high. He's also been given a diet sheet for diabetes as he's borderline for that. We're reassessing our diet but I'm already missing some of my snacks!

SecretCermonials · 01/09/2012 18:02

Ah ses its nice you are supporting DH!

DP has been better im sure that its 90% me being irritable, as my GD and acid reflux have kicked in with a vengence the last few days - fainted in the hair dressers and have started the (TMI) stomach acid vomits, so im probably irritable!

Im sadly proud of myself today - had a late spring autumn really?! clean today pulled everything out wiped all my surfaces with my bleach/disinfectant mix, mopped dusted hoovered, the whole house (4 rooms downs stairs plus large hall, 3 bedrooms an bathroom plus weird hallway alcove-y bit upstairs), really got into it and the place is now immaculate. Have begged DS and DP to keep it that way! Grin

I am back to work mon after a lovely week of freedom, but im trying to be positive about it, and having cleaned today have a relaxing park / roast dinner day planned for tomorrow. Have MW Mon this week and a scan Tues so that should be nice!

I will be glad that the kids are back to school too misery guts purely as it means DS and I have so much more to do on my days off Smile

What has everyone else got planned?

SESthebrave · 01/09/2012 19:31

Not sure about supporting him, I just know that if there was ice cream or chocolate in the house, he'd be eating it. We had salmon, mash and peas for tea much earlier than usual as we usually eat once DS is in bed. Today we ate with him which was nice but I know I'm going to be hungry again soon!

DD didn't seem v sure about her bottle of EBM. She sort of got the idea but only had about 1oz and was crying still due to wind and hunger but didn't take any more from the bottle. We'll try again tomorrow and hopefully she'll gradually get used to it!

SecretCermonials · 01/09/2012 19:45

Ah we are similar ses we eat separate from DS generally, otherwise we snack!

What bottles are you using? Ive heard NUK are closest to breast feeding but thats just hearsay obviously

SESthebrave · 01/09/2012 19:59

Using Tommy Tippee Closer to Nature ones. I guess if she's hungry enough she'll take it if I'm not around. She's doing a 2hr trial session with my friend on Tues afternoon so best get pumping again...!

SecretCermonials · 01/09/2012 20:28

Yes very true!

McKayz · 01/09/2012 21:21

Ses, I have the tommee tippee bottles and DD uses them really well so hopefully your DD will do as well in a few days.

Hey all, im sooo Sad and Angry and worried.

Had my repeat of 20w scan today at 22+3. Spnographer was an absolute bitch. She kept making comments about how she couldn't see everything as "you're very overweight" when I pointed out that i had lost nearly 12lb since my 12w appt and that id been over 2st heavier with DS1 she said that "overweight is overweight I cant believe they had no problems" i obv took offence. She asked me to go away for 25 mins eat something sweet and come back. I pointed out that eating choc messes with my sugars and makes me feel awful so id rather just jump around etc but she said that was tough Confused despite GD / blood sugar issues... So i do as she asks, come back and she scans me. Shows me bits n bobs, but at end cant see aorta. I say will you be rescanning. No says she, with no explanation. I obviously ask why not, what risks etc, she basically says not alot and asks me to leave! At this point i cant push it as have to collect DS having been at hospital for 2 hours!!

Anyway got home called mat dept, who are putting complaint to 3 people and are calling me tomorrow about seeing a consultant about explaining what it all means... But im just so Angry and want to cry, really dont want to be worrying from now until he's here Sad

McKayz · 04/09/2012 18:11

What a bitch!! I would be bloody fuming at that. I was overweight(still am) for my scans with DS2 and DD but they were never horrible about it even if it was difficult.

I would keep complaining until you get an apology.

OP posts:
SESthebrave · 04/09/2012 18:29

Secret - really Sad and Angry for you. Sounds to me like she was just trying to blame something/someone else for her own inabilities and then went into "I know best/stubborn mode". Not good enough and you're right to complain.

I left DD with a friend this afternoon as a practice for leaving her for a keeping in touch day I need to do next week. I left her with a bottle of expressed milk. She reported back though that DD behaved as if she were trying to feed her poison and wouldn't take it! Could prove interesting for KIT day Hmm
Will keep persevering with a bottle in the meantime...

SESthebrave · 04/09/2012 18:30

Oh tink meant to say glad you had a good time. Photos on FB are great :)

SecretCermonials · 04/09/2012 18:49

Thanks all glad it wasn't just me over reacting! I am bigger than id like but have lost weight an my BMI is currently 34.8 which is obv still high but pre pg it was 38.4!! And ive lost 18lb since may, and am
22 weeks pg so i just felt like killing her!
Personally I think that maybe she was having a bad day, hates podgers or something but I'm just concerned for my baby not her mood!!
Hopefully the talk with the consultant will be reassuring!

Aw Ses hopefully DD will be ok i bet your friend was a tad stressed!

Gingerbreadlatte · 04/09/2012 19:42

Quick one - so shocked at the treatment Secret. Really Angry on your behalf. I hope they get the sonographer to apologise to you.

Hope you get some answers tomorrow.
