Ohh cant great to hear from you here! Glad DD is recovered poor little girl hope they sort the fainting too!

Eek how exciting for surrobaby2! Hope AF comes soon

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/09/2012 10:15

It is exciting, but it's a PITA waiting for things to get started... I need to wait for AF to return, then i need to have a couple of cycles to know i'm regular, then need to have a cycle or 2 to track and know when i OV.... And I have heard it can be normal for AF to take up to 12mths to return after the depo :( I only found this out after I stopped having it, expecting to be ready to TTC after maybe 6m... oh well, good things come to those who wait.

DD2 was fine in all honesty, I gave her a dose of calpol before bed for the 1st 2 nights and after that nothing, she's such a trooper!!

How is A doing? Is she starting teething already???

SESthebrave · 15/09/2012 10:20

Hello cant - good to see you here. You may not want to hear this but when I was on the depo before ttc DS, it took about 12 months for AF to return. I do know that's not always the case though so fx it returns sooner for you.

Lovely sunny day here today. Not sure what we're going to do though! I need to do a load of housework but we'll see how much I get done!!

SESthebrave · 15/09/2012 10:22

Yes, A is definitely teething but then DS got his first tooth at 16 weeks. She's 14 weeks today - eek! She's currently lying on her play mat pulling on the toy parrot :)

tinkcantwaittomove · 15/09/2012 12:59

hi cant Grin
great to hear from you
poor dd bless her!!
glad she is ok
hope u dont have to wait much longer for af
hi ses bless her

all gd here

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/09/2012 15:47

I've resigned to the fact that it's not going to be as quick as we'd have liked... but we're in no rush really, SB1 is only 18mo, so she'll still be young enough for them to play together nicely even if it takes 18m to start. Just a bit gutted at my stupidity to not look into the time it can take for AF to return after the depo. Oh well. :)

Glad to hear A is doing well, DS got his first tooth cut through at 12wks, but it didn't move and gum re-covered it until 7mo. :)

SESthebrave · 15/09/2012 19:31

Hope you've all had a good day. I've done ok on selling / buying on the local FB group today. Sold our moses basket for £20 and found a playnest that I'm going to look at tomorrow for £8 :)

Ready for an evening of Strictly (recorded it to watch in a minute), Dr Who and XFactor :)

hellokittyrocks · 16/09/2012 20:29

McKayz · 17/09/2012 14:25

The teething chat is interesting Ses and Cant DD seems to be teething. She's drooling constantly and chewing on everything she can get hold off. The boys were both about 6 months when they got their first tooth.

Starshinetiger · 18/09/2012 09:34

Can't - sorry AF is taking so long to return Sad. It must be frustrating for you when you just want to get on with TTCing SB2. Hope it happens soon.
Ses - wow DD teething already, the time is flying by.
Talking of which, I am say here with a strong coffee (could do with alcohol tbh), as have just dropped DD at Pre-school for her first day! She is fine, I am blubbing like a baby! I know she needs to go, 'cos she got stuck straight in giving a doll a bath and I know she was in day care from 10mths to 2.8 for 3 days a week, but I have loved my last 9.5 myths at home with her all the time and I can't believe that this time next year she'll be at school - eeek! 4.9 years ago, I joined a thread on MN about waiting to TTC and now here I am with my baby having flown the nest to Pre-school.... They grow way too fast!
Ah well, had best get some housework done while I can Smile... Although sitting in front of the telly with a cuppa and a biccie is very tempting Wink

SESthebrave · 18/09/2012 13:41

Star - Hope DD enjoyed her morning and that you enjoyed your cuppa! It's very scary where the time has gone. I can't believe we were all ttc or waiting to ttc when we first got chatting on here!

Kayz - yes, teething is upon us Grin Drooling and chomping loads. I'm surprised DD's fists and fingers aren't damaged by it all!

Kitty - sounds like all good with you :)

Hope everyone else is good.

McKayz · 18/09/2012 16:22

DS2 has been at nursery this afternoon for his first day. He has absolutely loved it. Grin

Hi All
I?m lurking but not posting as I have so much on finishing up work. Only 2 wks and 3 days left!. Will be 34wkswk!

I?m sorry for really for posting a selfish post but need friend advice.

Long term friend- can be a bit prickly and isn?t great on communication for some reason- she?d rather ignore issues etc. That is what is she is, mostly its fine.

Am in work close down ?hell? right now- not just handover but putting live a massive systems implementation project that I?ve been working on for the last year. It?s important to me for lots of reasons and I can?t neglect it.

She suggested date for night out, I said I can?t be sure I won?t have to work evenings until I finish work . So I said no and asked if we could change the date etc, apologised etc.
She has gone totally silent. No reply to my message nearly 2wks ago.

Last night was the night of suggested date- instead of saying anything/ responding she posts passive aggressive status on FB about having to resort to TV / crap night in tonight.
She has done this once before with weirdo FB posts to hint at being annoyed about it- when we had to cancel a date for my work load issues.

I?ve not replied to her again as it will endorse her sulking and will also sound like I?m trying to appease her and make excuses and I am not doing that. My work is busy but there is only 2more bloody weeks.
I don?t know what to do. She is good, old friend but I am so angry with her for being so bloody un- understanding.

What would you do here? Appreciate I?m probably overreacting re hormones and work stress?. She isn?t the kind of friend I could talk to openly as she just closes up like clam?.

hellokittyrocks · 19/09/2012 10:57

star - bet dd had a great time
kay - bless him
ginger - good to hear from you Grin
wow 24 weeks
your friend sounds very childish and annoying

all good here Grin
i am going to see george michael in a month Grin Grin
had a viewing of the house yesterday and one today

SESthebrave · 19/09/2012 17:36

Ginger - tbh she doesn't sound much of a friend :( I have a few friends though that I've known since childhood and really wouldn't want to lose so I appreciate your dilemma. As I see it you've got 3 options:

  1. have it out with her. Say something like "I really value our friendship and may have taken this the wrong way but I felt really annoyed by...." and see how the conversation goes.
  2. keep your frustration to yourself and do/say nothing but contact her about an alternative date
  3. cut her off gradually

Not easy....

SESthebrave · 19/09/2012 17:45

Kayz - glad DS2 is enjoying nursery :)

tink - bet George Michael will be good. I used to be a bit of a Wham fan Blush

SecretCermonials · 19/09/2012 20:05

Hi all

ses dont Blush i love a but of wham and george cos ya gotta have faith afaith afaith ahhh im totally jell kitty

kayz yay for DS2 is it nice to have some time alone with DD?

Ginger absolute sympathies for friend she reminds me vaguely of a friend of mine, i havent cut her out but I dont see her often, altho the issues were a bit more direct for me which made it easier. I suppose it depends if the good outweighs the bad? Hope work goes well and you are ok
In yourself!

McKayz · 20/09/2012 07:38

Morning.

Kitty George Michael sounds great fun!!

Ginger I'd be really tempted to post something like 'wish I could have a TV night but I am so busy'. But then after having a similar thing with a so called friend who had a go about me on facebook as I wouldn't leave 3 week old DD to go on her hen night, I am feeling rather fed up. Not sure why she is bringing it up now anyway, it was 10 weeks ago.

OP posts:
Starshinetiger · 20/09/2012 10:11

Ginger - I am guessing that this friend does not have children and is not pregnant? Then she can't empathise and sounds pretty selfish to me. You have done nothing wrong and if she can't accept that then it's her "ishoo" not yours! Sounds like you have plenty on your plate without this added stress. Ses summarised pretty concisely and only you will know which is the right option for you. Speaking as someone who was so blissfully unaware of the juggling act of all parents (I was going to put working parent, but it's not just working parents I think) and also of how exhausting pregnancy can be before I had children, I would put at least part of it down to ignorance on her part and then just decide how you want your friendship to move forwards. Don't know that I've helped there, but just wanted to sympathise with you really and tell you that I don't think you're being over-sensitive or hormonal, but that she seems to just need to grow up.

Like you McKayz - I don't know why people have to post their gripes about others on FB instead of having a conversation about it... had someone do that to me and it just seems petty!

McKayz- is DD 13 weeks already? Glad DS is loving pre-school - My DD is too (day 3 and I've written off getting anything major achieved at home in this first week, other than some washing and ironing, but will start my new housewifey attitude next week Grin).

DD has a new friend already Grin, so that makes it easy to leave her at nursery. She does a full day next Tuesday (they make the 15 hours up at her nursery by doing 5x 2.5 hours and then an additional session either morning or afternoon on one day and we pay for lunch on that day). Is going to be very weird, but I do have to join the Head Teacher Performance Management meeting for the afternoon, so that will distract me - being a governor can be quite time consuming!!

Kitty - I bet GM will be fab. I too am still used to be a Wham fan Blush - love it when I'm at home with the kids on my own and I can get them dancing round to the good old eighties music Grin - there's plenty of years for DH to inflict play his heavy metal music to them Grin. You must be getting pretty excited about your house now!

Right - must do something for the next hour... Maybe prepare dinner or do some ironing... oh, I know how to live the high life!

McKayz · 20/09/2012 10:18

Star, yup DD is 3 months today. I half wish she was a bit older. She's already doing the staring at me while I am trying to eat and trying to get my food if she is close enough. She doesn't try to grab anything else, just my lunch!!

I need to start trying to be housewifey too Grin it is hard though with DD

Gingerbreadlatte · 21/09/2012 21:06

Hi everyone
Thanks for your comments about the friend situation. It does seem mad! Seeing written down has made me see how silly she is being. I am going to ignore it for now and pick up with her once my work is out of the way. Star- she does have 2 kids and works 3d/wk. She is some kind of wonder woman (or has a really easy job!) as she does a billion things every week and weekend.

Kay- cant believe your DD is 3 months!

BB- how are you doing? How many weeks now? Is the GD (or not GD!) under control?

Hi Ses, Tink, Star and everyone else. x

SecretCermonials · 21/09/2012 21:27

Hi ginger thanks for asking, im 25 weeks tomorrow Grin all ok on GD front so far but fully expecting GD diag. At 28 w test even tho 18w clear. What about you?
I saw the doc today for 25W apt which went well, on maalox again for the heartburn, and SPD rearing its head but all in all not feeling too shabby Grin
