When can you start drinking raspberry tea from?

Feeling less stressed today, nursery carpet came toys r us collecting broken furniture Monday and have ordered new set from mama's and papa's . Collected all baby things from moms tonight and sorted into newborn 0-3mths and so on.

Seem to be getting there.

Strange question what week do you go by i'm due 12th aug but some apps say 30 weeks some 31 weeks confused.com!!

Getting sharp like stabbing pains pelvic not lots maybe 8 today is this braxton hicks???

panpipe · 07/06/2012 21:48

eighties I think it's counted from the first day of your LMP. Or you could count backwards from your EDD!

Just been having a wander round YouTube and found a channel called TheStyleDiet - it has a few videos of a young, very slim, glamourous American girl complaining of putting on 15lbs and reviewing hospital/labour clothes and accessories so she can look cute and pink and matching in labour. Check it out if you want a laugh but I didn't make it to the end of any of the vids!

Westcountrylovescheese · 07/06/2012 21:52

Eighties, we have raspberry leaf tea every week at yoga class. It's lovely!

Vino, probably worth using a soap free wash like femfresh to avoid thrush. I have mad skin anyway so never use anything but that on sensitive skin areas. Soap and shower gel is really drying and can upset ph balance.

ImissMiniPop · 07/06/2012 22:06

They wouldn't let me out of the HD post natal ward onto the normal ward until I'd had tea and toast! Couldn't quite manage toast, so they settled for me eating two packs of biscuits Grin

MrsMigginslovespies · 07/06/2012 22:39

Just a wee one as on phone to say Lazy Daisy class was really good. I think babymiggins liked it too as he was rolling about in there. Glad not just me then with the rolling waves at times.
Oddly, all three of us were assisted conceptions...2 ivf and 1 iui lady so a nice connection.
Will put some photos of Ddog up tomorrow once home again. Am going to get some Mamamio stuff and rlt too as my sister also liked it, and coupled with her hypnobirthing, had super fast labours both times.
Night all! X

ishopthereforeiam · 07/06/2012 23:57

poppy very Envy of your toast, I read a labour thread before where most ladies seem to have been offered some... Nada for me so in the space of 48 hours I had a few pickled onion monster munch and a Capri sun (courtesy of dh, he did try to get me to eat more but that was all I could manage post the drugs)! I was also sick straight after the labour when I went for surgery after Sad

jemima hopefully you're not in pain if a uti? I recall from years ago they usedcto be v painful. I had suspected protein in my urine but they rechecked and it was ok.

80s I guess a little raspberry tea is fine from any time but I hit the tablets hard in the last two weeks (when I decided I was ready for dd to come out) but not sure if that was why she was early could just have happened anyways...

Looking forward to the pics mrsmiggins Grin

5am. Every fricking day! I'm so tired, so exhausted from lack of sleep I want to cry Sad That, coupled with the back ache...

ishopthereforeiam · 08/06/2012 07:06

Oh no, have you tried anyth for the back ache?

I got two hours sleep. So. Not. Happy!

OP posts:
Loislane78 · 08/06/2012 07:11

Feel your pain on the insomnia. Was never a great sleeper anyway but no chance now. Last night I was thinking how great it would be if someone invented sleeping tablets (as well as all other pain relief drugs!) that were safe for us. What I'd give for a solid 8 hours....

Either that or not having to go to work Hmm

Vinolover · 08/06/2012 07:59

I think I will try that west although I have been absolutely fine up until now all the while I was using my usual dove shower gel.

Glad you enjoyed your class mrsm.

You're supposed to have one cup of raspberry leaf a day from 32wks, 2 cups from 34wks, 3 cups from 36wks and 4 cups from 38wks. I know it's not meant to induce labour any earlier but we can live in hope Hmm.

Sorry to those not sleeping very well :(. If it's any consolation, I was up nearly all night trying not to scratch my bits!!

panpipe · 08/06/2012 08:17

Frilly me too, been awake consistently between 5 and 5.30 every morning recently. Luckily I'm ok through the night at the moment but am having some early nights to make up for it. My problem is that I stay in bed then still don't manage to get up at 6.30 to get ready for work

Glad you enjoyed your Lazy Daisy miggins. Baby panpipe seems to have a relax when I go which is a welcome relief from its current somersaults!

Looking forward to having DH home tonight as he's been at a conference in Milan this week. Let's see if I can convince him that we really do need to start the nursery this weekend!

NeedlesCuties · 08/06/2012 08:21

Vino that is great advice about the amount of RLT to take at each week. I have 40 teabags of it in the kitchen, got some last week as Holland and Barratt were doing 20 bags for £1, woohoo!

I did get toast and tea after DS was born. I could have kissed the lady who brought it to me Grin All the way through labour they told me I couldn't eat anything, but one MW felt sorry for me and gave me an ice-lolly to eat. So from leaving home at 5am to DS being born at 8:30pm I had one ice-lolly. Nooo!!!!

I'm in agreement with whomever coined the term 'rolling waves' about their babies movements. Sorry can't remember who it was, and I'm too lazy to scroll up through posts Blush Feels almost like Baby C is doing a slow tumble. Have awful discomfort with rib flare and it feels like Baby C is sitting right up under my ribs Confused

(29 weeks today)

Whiteangel · 08/06/2012 09:48

Had my first bath in the new house last night and slept like a log. Seemed to help most of my aches and pains. Had to be up early to dismantle the bed ready for the carpet fitters but they're not here yet. If we hadn't done it they would have turned up at 8! We are trying to go for the record for the mist white vans outside one house. Skip being picked up soon, then someone can get on the drive. Hope the Ikea lorry can get through to deliver my appliances!
I've def got the rolling wave going on. Also tickling that might be tiny fingers? Think it's not that all medications are unsafe during pregnancy but more that they can't risk trials on pregnant women! Hope you all have a good day. Pouring down in the north east xx

hamncheese · 08/06/2012 09:51

Sorry to all with insomnia :(

Having -for some ridiculous reason probably my shortness and bad posture - had rib pain since 4 months I can advise the following: hot water bottle on the sore areas be it front or back ribs; sitting upright on a hard chair or on birthing ball; standing a foot away from the wall, crossing your arms in front of your face and leaning on the wall, push up a bit too as it lifts your ribs etc up from bump; getting someone to massage your back (if it is sore in the back); and using about 8 pillows as sleeping on side makes rib ache worse.

Seriously though, can't sleep on front obviously; can't sleep on back; CAN sleep on sides, but when you do your ribs ache so much it makes you want to be sick with the pain. Am I meant to hang upside down like a bat to get an acceptable position these days?? Angry

panpipe · 08/06/2012 10:02

Have you noticed we're on 'most active' at the moment?!

I second ham's suggestion of lifting up your ribs from bump - I've been known to lean over the top of our TV unit as it's just the right height for me to stretch everything out for a bit and relieve the rib pain.

Don't know about tickling but definitely rolling waves and last night a particularly vigorous bout of what felt like Riverdance.

Glimpers · 08/06/2012 10:32

vino have you tried Sanex shower wash? I had 'itching issues' pre-pg and this was the only wash I could use, settled down within a couple of days, but defo go and see GP for pessary/ cream too.
Well, it's good weather for ducks in the south west and how our fence is still standing I don't know Sad
Sat waiting for a skip to be delivered so we can commence Op Clearout! We decorated the nursery on Wednesday and the cot is now assembled Smile yay! Just waiting on the drawers now, which MIL and FIL are buying for us, then I can start on washing all the teeny tiny clothes Grin
Sorry to hear of all who are suffering with rib pain Sad touch wood haven't had any yet, but getting really breathless and chest pains. MW was next to useless when I saw her on Wednesday so going to make an appt with the GP next week if it doesn't improve.
Happy Friday everyone!

ishopthereforeiam · 08/06/2012 10:56

ohhh lois I'd take just 4 hours straight sleep!

ham am also using pillows under belly when sleeping on side as otherwise I get very bad aches but still need to roll over every hour or two and then need to grab onto something to roll...

Am feeling like my lungs are constantly squashed and seems harder to breathe - not just when lying down on back but even when sitting up, anyone-else?

Off to try and grab an hour's nap...

OP posts:
Lovemarmite · 08/06/2012 11:10

Morning everyone, hope you're doing well today!
Managed to sleep in this morning (yeah!) after the usual 4.30 wake up, get up have a glass of water and then back to bed for a snooze (boo!).

Have had the week off and it's Friday already. DH has almost finished painting the nursery, I bought the blind yesterday (yippee!) and ordered a shed (for our big garden build that starts 30 July - ahhhhhhh!) We missed the dates for mid-July start and so now we're about to have a garden office /room built in our garden which will only take 5 days but I've no idea what sort of mess it will create, there'll be a massive skip to take away the existing garage, lots of workers, a base put down the week before - oh dear are we really really mad to take this on less than 2 weeks from our due date?
Plus before then, we have to do a garden clearance to make room for a new shed (gulp, not sure what help I'll be in all this!)

Definitely having rib pain, am breathless and feels like my lungs can't quite make a proper breath in the evening. Mw is coming to our house at lunch for a 31 week check up. I have my own mw throughout who is visiting me at home, I think I must be pretty lucky to get this special treatment and she's really lovely too.

Thanks for the tip for raspberry leaf tea - will be getting some asap for starting next week.

ontheedgeofwhatever · 08/06/2012 11:39

Sorry this is a completely selfish post but could really do with some advise.

This is my second DC. I'm 31 weeks pregnant but I just can not accept there will be a baby at the end of all this. I can feel it moving and kicking and don't finnd it nice or interesting just see it as something that happens with pregnancy. With dd I was excited and looking forward to it but with this one I'm completely indifferent. I'm frightened i won't have enough love to go round and have even decided the baby won't like me.

Its so illogical. When I was pregnant with DD it was in very difficult personal circumstances. This time things are amazingly relaxed and its almost as if I am looking for and expecting something to go wrong.

I'm scared of being a mummy to two children and really feel as if baby and dd would be better off without me even though I love dd so much I feel like bursting when I look at her.

I haven't got anything for the baby and can't bring myself to. I have a load of handmedowns from SIL and some stuff left from DD (now 6) but none of it even remotely interests me.

What the hell is wrong with me? Surely this can't be normal? Is anyone else getting any of these feelings? I can't tell DP he'll tell me I'm being silly (and he'd probably be right)

MrsMigginslovespies · 08/06/2012 12:01

Twas me Needles with the rolling waves. Had a good sleep (sorry to rub in) after the class which was good but do feel tired today. Will post properly when home but hope you all can get some rest later/over weekend a bit. Ttfn x

0FrillyKnickers0 · 08/06/2012 12:29

ontheedge, I don't think you are being silly, it very possible that you have pre-natal depression. Have you spoken to your DR about it? When my sister was pregnant with DD%232, she felt similar. She was scared there wouldn't be enough love as she loves DD%231 so much. She said that when DD%232 was born, it was like more love came out of nowhere. She expected the love that was there to be split, but more came instead...!!! Perhaps you should talk to your DH, just tell him how you are feeling because you need his support. You are in this together and you can't go through these emotions alone. Don't feel silly though. Also, talk to your midwife or dr as there will be groups for things like this and they will be able to recommend something. Hope that helps, but please do talk to DH Smile

ishopthereforeiam · 08/06/2012 12:30

Hey ontheedge how old is your dd? I understand where you're coming from, youre def not abnormal! Sounds like you just have your hands full as it is.

My situation is dd is 18 months, and takes up most of my time even though she's in nursery 4 days (!). I am looking fwd to this baby but haven't gotten around to buying much (with dd had a chest full of clothes, toys etc!), partly as we have most thinfs , car seat, Moses basket, partly because I haven't been as inclined. I also worry how I'll have time to bond with baby (feeding, cuddles etc) as well as give dd the attention she needs (she'll not be in nursery anymore as moving)... And hope that somehow I can play with dd (talk to her, encourage her etc) whilst holding baby and also baby will spend some time in Moses basket etc. I'm sure you'll have plenty of love to go around butbprob not much sleep unless u can get help from in laws, parents etc?

Second babies often get less attention (from parents, grandparents) doesn't mean we don't love them any less, just that they can do less harm tan a toddler! Like my mum says, she has four fingers on her hAnd, they're all different but she loves them just as much.

It'll be a stretch for us, but we can do it! And don't be shy in accepting help xxx

Also, hate to admit it but mil said this too re my poor dh and I do agree, first pg's are more exciting as ITs all happening for the first time! This time I know what I'm in for - my body did it all about two years ago... have felt kicks etc before and the side effects irritate me more Blush. Doesn't mean I blame or don't like the baby just that not everything is quite so rosectinted fir me.
