Thought I'd get the ball rolling as I know there have been some BFPs in the last few days on here.....

Just got a confirmatory BFP on a clear blue. This will be DC2, DC1 will be two in two weeks!

So grab a seat, buckle up and enjoy the vino soft drinks on offer.

Ps is it really bad that I am craving a jug of Pimm's?!

Aww thats sweet pinkie I need to find a book called "the typical bloke's guide to pregnancy" for my DH Grin He is excited though and still a bit shocked I think, bless him.

I've decided that I'm going to wait till Wednesday as that is when my af is due, I'll be 4+2 then, all being well I'll call the doctors then.

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 10/06/2012 19:33

Ahhhh! Why am I watching one born every minute?!?!

There are some bloke books for pregnancy on amazon, am tempted as DH seems more stressed than me!

eggandbean · 10/06/2012 20:58

D30 - good luck telling the parents, let us know how that goes! :)

I rang my GP straight away and was a bit disappointed they didn't want to see me until 8 weeks (but then booked me in for 6.5 weeks?!) but did make me come in to give a urine sample so they could 'confirm' the pregnancy which I was surprised at because I read that they place reliance on home tests now. But the receptionist said "congratulations by the way" to me at the end of the conversation so that made me happy again :)
(I couldn't believe it last year when I got married, all the places I had to ring round to get my name changed and not ONE person said congratulations when I said I had just got married, I was really shocked! Anyway, I digress, sorry...)

eggandbean · 10/06/2012 21:00

Slightly - I've never seen one born every minute and from what I've heard I'm not about to start either!!
I too have been looking at pregnancy books on amazon and can't decide which to get, hmm..

MrsRT · 10/06/2012 21:22

Has anyone had any spotting? I am 6 weeks and I've had some the past couple of days and although I keep getting told it's normal I still freak out every time I go to the loo!

fuzzfoster · 10/06/2012 21:35

Hi,

I'm 4+2 now and due Feb 15th. I am very happy, but also really anxious. I already have DS who is 3.5 but miscarried in Nov (went for 12 week scan and found empty sac). It was a complete shock. I'm going to ring the docs tomorrow to get an appointment. Am hoping for an early scan but not sure how early they will let me go??

P.S. MrsRT - Yes it can be and usually is completely normal but I think advice is if there is any bleeding or if you aren't sure contact your GP and they can prob arrange a scan to put your mind at rest.

MrsRT · 10/06/2012 21:38

Thanks fuzzfoster, I'm going to speak to my doctor tomorrow to hopefully put my mind at rest. If you can't get an early scan with doctor, I've booked a private one, they will do them from 7 weeks.

fuzzfoster · 10/06/2012 21:54

Mrs RT - Thanks. Will see what they say. Hoping they will let me as Early Preg Unit said I probably would when i was under their care for MC. Hope all goes well with you, I'm sure it'll be fine.

QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 22:16

slightly I used to love watching one born, however not sure I could right now as it occurred to me earlier that it 8 months time the baby has to come out! Scared already!

eggandbean let us know which books you decide on, going to get some for my kindle myself over the next few days.

fuzz sorry to hear about your mc. I've had a mc before too, at 9 weeks. It was awful but I think once you get to 12 weeks you sort of think everything is going to be ok? Must have been horrible for you. Hope you manage to get your early scan sorted to reassure you.

MrsRT I do think that spotting is normal early on, I hope your doctor is able to reassure you too.

I'm stressing too, the light cramps I've had have gotton a little bit more niggly today, sort of feels like pre-af cramps and I keep expecting af to arrive any minute - keep going to the loo to check! Just trying to relax and remember that its all very normal.

Pinkie29 · 10/06/2012 22:20

Queen I still check everytime I go to the loo! I have more centre af type cramps today tho not as bad as I did during the week it seemed constant but been assured its normal

BabylannShallFall · 10/06/2012 22:33

I watched OBEM fir a while when DD was a newborn, I loved it but it made me cry. Watching during pregnancy is a definite no-no, I don't think my hormones could handle it!

Anyone else here considering options regarding vbacs and elcs already? I'm already panicking about it!

QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 22:38

pinkie far tmi here but as well as the af type pains it seems like I've also got some aching down below! No idea if thats normal or not!

babylann this is going to be my first baby so no vbac or anything for me, I'm hoping to give birth naturally though. Have you had a c-sec before then? If so how was your recovery?

Yasmina27 · 10/06/2012 23:11

Hi Congrats and am new to the site. I am in my 10 weeks and so excited and am due in Jan 2013 :) first baby

Yasmina27 · 10/06/2012 23:12

anyone expecting in Jan 2013?

D30rvg · 10/06/2012 23:13

Well we've told them. As we sat looking at the menus I asked the mums what a pregnant woman could eat. It took a moment for penny to drop but when it did the reaction was great. My dad cried! Both mums also shed a tear & kept saying how wonderful it was. They are sworn to secrecy now & I'm sure they will stick to that. It has given me the urge to tell everyone now but I am doing everything to resist.

I'm loving reading everyone's entries to this forum. It is great knowing that there are people going through the same things as us.

QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 23:18

Aww D30 your post just nearly made me cry! Damn hormones! Grin I'm really close to my dad and the thought of telling him makes me well up!

Welcome yasmina and congrats! I think most people are due February but a few are early feb I think.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 10/06/2012 23:31

Aw d30 that's so nice. mrs rt the dr should send you for an early scan to put your mind at rest. Try not to worry too much just go in and see him, hopefully you can get one before the private one.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 10/06/2012 23:36

babylann I was told last time they want me to have a natural birth with as little medical intervention as possible. I'm going to have to negotiate on it, as I want a bloody big epidural!

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 11/06/2012 00:31

Hi all. Am still stressing about lack of symptoms. Sense of smell - normal. Gone off tea and coffee - nope. Any cravings - nope. Sore boobs - nope. Sickness or nausea - none......

Haven't had any bleeding that I've noticed but in last pregancy I could at least tell with my super super nostril skills of smelling things from three miles away. Tell me it's normal to have no symptoms as well as loads like some of you on here Sad

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 11/06/2012 00:36

Totally normal!!! I can't sleep. I had a kip this afternoon and think its knocked me out of kilter.

Don't worry about symptoms, they say exert pregnancy is a bit different. I could never smell stuff me!!

Happea · 11/06/2012 04:56

Anyone else vomiting yet? I was sick twice on Friday, twice on Saturday, and woke up at about 4am today and was sick again. My mum tells me she never threw up during either of her pregnancies! Very unfair :P I was having the 'period pain' thing too until a couple of days ago and it was really freaking me out. I think it's just the uterus growing to accomodate the baby. I also had the tiniest bit of spotting about a week ago. Nothing since so I am hopeful that again this was just a bit of old crap being dislodged by the shifts in my uterus (TMI?) :) I know the sickness is a good sign too as it means my hormones are doing their thing. I am only 4-5 weeks.

QueenOfTheDrama · 11/06/2012 06:54

cheese just remember everyone is different, no symptoms at this stage is just as normal as loads of them!

happea no not been sick yet. In my last pregnancy I was as sick as a dog from about 5 weeks until I mc at 9 weeks. I'm talking vomiting morning noon and night. I'm already getting nausea on and off so fully expecting to start throwing up within the next week or so Sad Just hoping I don't get it as bad as I did last time!

BeanDunne · 11/06/2012 07:51

Hello Can i join?
I got my bfp yesterday after 6 months of trying. Im 11dpo so its VERY early days

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 11/06/2012 08:40

Bean - welcome and congratulations!

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 11/06/2012 08:48

Cheese - I have only got cramps and sore boobs, my sense of smell has always been irritatingly good, so no real change on it. I think I've only got these symptoms because of my added progesterone pessaries. Otherwise I feel pretty normal, not moody or emotional yet, if anything I'm less moody! Grin I probably wouldn't have noticed any of this if we'd been natural.

Unfortunately, because of the long road it's been to get here more people know than I would've liked at this point, most are the supportive people I need to, but unfortunately I had to tell my boss we were doing ivf so I could get the time off work for it. It is now really irritating me that he knows but my dad doesn't Angry. He doesn't really have any comprehension of what turmoil my body was in, and has not been exactly understanding! Rant over!

Have my drs appt tomorrow and will be writing my list of things to ask shortly as I know I will just be on the conveyor belt! Any tips?

Sorry for the me post Blush
