Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FriendofDorothy · 23/05/2012 09:39

Because I live in Guernsey we don't have an EPU - we have to go through the specialist services. They scanned me on Friday last week and I literally had to beg for that appointment so I don't think I would get another one. I am due in on friday anyway for my routine booking appointment, even though I have already had two early scans!

I am just hoping the dark blood is clots that keep being dislodged, they often seem to happen after I have walked, even if it is only for a short distance.

CODwidow · 23/05/2012 09:46

11 weeks today (I think) scared Im going to go and they'll put me back 2 weeks! I think worrying is just natural it's something you have no control over at all and most of us aren't used to that.

Hunger is still raging even after a bowl of bran flakes, yogurt with blueberries and now a banana I'm actually starving!

livismum · 23/05/2012 10:54

Morning, struggling bit today, went to bed at half 8 last night with a humdinger of a headache (partly my own fault for not attacking it with painkillers quick enough) and still feeling a bit bleugh today, DD2 cried going in to playschool and I have loads of housework to do when id rather be sat outside in the sunshine! Had booking in yesterday, still a few weeks till scan, yep that's all, sorry for a post full of moans Sad

gilsbubbles · 23/05/2012 11:10

Is anyone else suffering with waking up crazy early? 4am seems to be the new 7... I've had a week now of struggling to get back to sleep.

WeeJo08 · 23/05/2012 11:29

Hi there!

Can I join this thread please? I am 10+3 today with my first. Have been predictably obsessed, anxious and (probably!) a nightmare for my husband to deal with! I have had an early scan...okay, okay, I have had two scans, the last of which was yesterday evening. All good so far :)

It'll be nice to hear all about your experiences....i am going to start reading through the thread(s!) now.

Jo xo

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 23/05/2012 11:33

welcome jo, i am 10+3 also :) it doesn't get better (the paranoia) i'm just as bad on no. 3 lol

WeeJo08 · 23/05/2012 11:34

Thanks Stacey! (I think!) How are you feeling?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 23/05/2012 11:38

well yest and today have been good days so far when my morning sickness has kept itself to mornings and i am hoping upon hope it stays that way/decreases. as with dd (8 years ago) it was all day long sickness till i was 8 and a half months, cant cope with that again! But other than that i'm well, i think the sunshine helps. How are you feeling (other than paranoid lol)

CODwidow · 23/05/2012 13:05

This is no.5 and the worrying is still no better! It's also amazing that I seem to have forgotten this stage with all of them!

CODwidow · 23/05/2012 13:11

Having slight period cramps today which is worrying me a lot! But still starving hungry so things have to be ok....right?

whatmess · 23/05/2012 13:27

Hi everyone, Well what a past few days I've had. I saw the nurse last Friday (think I might have posted on here about it) and she found ketones in my wee, but upon discussion with the Dr was not overly concerned and sent me home. On Monday morning I text my MW everything that's been going on, the terrible sickness, half stone weight loss and the urine tests and asked what she thought. She rang me back to say she had discussed it with her colleagues and they thought the response not satisfactory. She asked me to ring the Dr myself and tell him she advised I ask for an emergency assessment by him.
Initially he didn't seem keen, but he did book me in and after a second test with even more Ketones found, he arranged for me to go into A&E.
Turns out I was severely dehydrated. I spent the night in hosp being pumped full of 2.5L of intravenous rehydration fluids and was discharged last night with Cyclizine.
Apart from making me feel extremely sleepy, it seems to be working. I haven't thrown up yet and feel 100 times better than I did Monday. Fingers crossed it will be uphill from here on in.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 23/05/2012 13:34

oh whatmess glad its seemingly sorted for you, bit of a shit the doc just dismissed you!

blackcurrants · 23/05/2012 14:24

It really goes to show that you have to stick up for your self when it comes to some GPs and pregnancy issues, doesn't it? That makes me v. cross.

I MUST ring the hospital and book my 12 week scan. I keep forgetting and DS has been ill, up at night coughing, which is draining. At work today after 2 days of 'working from home' with sick DS and frankly it's a joy to be here! :)

I had slices of smoked salmon for breakfast (wtf? it's all I can think about!) and an orange. The sickness is slowly, slowly easing. Fingers crossed it stops for all soon!

MyDaydream · 23/05/2012 14:52

gils I'm sleeping terribly at the minute, I wake up several times in the night and it takes ages to get back to sleep. You certainly aren't alone there.
whatmess sounds like your on the way to recovery, fingers crossed for you from here.

itsMYNutella · 23/05/2012 17:35

Thanks, lemons the only symptom I do have... which hopefully isn't just me being a pig... is that I'm really hungry, about every two hours I need a yoghurt or a banana or something. And this afternoon (after a very busy day of having a little walk and err lunch... I'm working freelance at the mo and have way too much time on my hands) I needed a nap. Hoping it doesn't keep me awake too late because tomorrow I have to work early...

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow (still sh*t scared generally- but we're both excited about our bean)... is it normal to be so hungry? Or am I simply turning into a heffa day by day??

itsMYNutella · 23/05/2012 17:37

whatmess I hope you continue to feel much better!!
Daydream my sleep is really good probably every third night, not sure if it's worry or normal? In between I find I have really disturbed sleep...

minipie · 23/05/2012 17:42

Nutella I am hungry all the time too! if I don't eat for several hours, that's when I start to feel sick. And I'm shattered in the afternoons too.

Scan tomorrow! Squeeeeee!

OP posts:
MyDaydream · 23/05/2012 18:10

Nutella I'm not worried really, I'm just too hot/too cold/not comfy/feeling sick/ wondering why DP is making that noise/really hungry again. Then I get to sleep and suddenly need a wee. DP is back at work tonight after what seems like an eternity off so hopefully I'll get a better sleep tonight.

Mummycox · 23/05/2012 19:10

Evening all. Thought you'd all gone a bit quiet, found you. 12 week scan on monday, had to call as they had it down for 15+6... Ho hum.

DH is being a darling still, little over protective at times but better that way than not I suppose.

You all sound so organised already. I thought I was good by having a wish list, i am in awe. my old study is now a dumping ground, think I need to nest but first, eat....

mwahmwah · 23/05/2012 19:21

Addicted to chicken supernoodles...

brooke89 · 23/05/2012 19:30

Addicted to chicken nuggets...

mwahmwah · 23/05/2012 20:19

Mmm supernoodles AND nuggets, aka a balanced 1st trimester meal... :o

PrunellaDeVille · 23/05/2012 20:22

Addicted to cheese....
just basic cheddar but everything i eat has to have cheese involved, so much lasagne, bolognese with grated cheese, meatballs with grated cheese, chips beans and cheese...started to feel i wasn't getting any vegetables so i made myself a fresh spring vegetable soup but gave in and added lumps of cheese crouton style which melted beautifully and worked a treat. Maybe i have a calcium deficiency Hmm or i did have Smile
why couldn't i crave apples

MyDaydream · 23/05/2012 20:36

Oh I'm with you on cheese. DP made some beans on toast today, my first question was "where's the cheese?" How could he have forgotten the cheese?

livismum · 23/05/2012 21:08

Just in from work = having a cheese and bean toastie! Grin
