As long as they are happy I don't see why not. I bet they will have loads of fun and get up to lots of mischief!

Mozza1 · 10/06/2012 20:49

Hi all,

Mind if I join the thread a bit late? DC%231 due on 25th December!

Still feeling rubbish plus now the hay fever has kicked in! Must have sneezed 50 times today.

Roll on 2nd trimester!

kateand2boys · 10/06/2012 20:52

No action here either Blush Was just starting to feel like it and then I fell ill.

My boys are currently in their own rooms, but will be going into bunks together in ds1's room until we move next year. DS1 is not happy about this, his initial response was 'I hate ds1!!' He doesn't, they are really close, but he is a bit put out out. It's not forever though, as I keep telling him.

If they already share, I would leave things as they are and see what happens when the new baby comes. Will you still put them all in together if you have a boy this time?

CODwidow · 10/06/2012 21:01

I am also getting hassled about how little any action takes place Blush I just feel so tired after seeing to all the ds's all day especially with half term this week.

We also have the bedroom dilemma as we're in a 3 bed and I love it here so at the mo its 2 in each room but one of the bedrooms is a converted garage so is huge. So plan is baby stays with us til at least July/aug then if it's another ds one of the boys can move so 3 are sharing in the big room and 2 youngest in smaller but what to do if it's a girl! Dh thinks the room is big enough to split so 2 each and dd on her own but I'm not sure.

Barbeasty · 10/06/2012 21:04

Ellie My SIL has 6 children in 3 rooms- a reasonable single with bunkbed and extra matress for 3, cot in the box room for youngest, and the oldest 2 in the attic room. At some point the youngest will swop with the matress child, as he is the only boy.

They all seem fine with it, although I'd say at some point a brother and sister/s won't want to share.

And I could tell you about her wonderful home births for the last 4 if it cheers you up!

ellliebelle · 10/06/2012 21:15

barbeasty I know its early days and I will get lots of support from midwife/ local home birth group etc im just worried that this story will keep lingering there and im pretty positive a home birth is what i want

kate i think if dd1 was happy with it (which im sure she would be) we would put a boy in with the girls obviously not forever but until it became obvious dd1 is needing her own space, i am only really planning on childminding for maybe another 4/5 years in which time i will hopefully have gained my degree through the ou and will be able to train as a teacher and then i wouldn't mind so much not having my playroom and im pretty sure dd1 would definitely not want to share with a brother by the time she is 10 so timings wise that could work out

ellliebelle · 10/06/2012 21:17

then again still not decided on going back to childminding after mat leave would depend massively on if i could find a job that would fit in around my very unrealistic specific ideas of hours etc and also i could childmind without a dedicated playroom i just cant decide what to do hmmmm

Mummycox · 10/06/2012 21:26

Remind me, what is this sex thing you refer to? Wink

Hope you are all ok. Glad you're ok pidjin, worried about the rest of you. Sleep tight.

CODwidow · 10/06/2012 21:29

My cm when I was younger had 6 children in a 3 bed, 5 boys in the double room and the girl had her own. They never seemed to mind and I know them still now and they never moan about it. Smile

Clarella · 10/06/2012 21:46

Welcome mozza! Congrats!

Oh Kate big hugs, well done on your DH with a paper bag :) I think you're probably right about being more aware this time, plus you've been ill.

Glad DH has apologised strawb - I thought I'd posted earlier recommending handjobs or nothing but it was either censored or didn't load! You definaty have to wait till you've been checked, hope its ok.

On that score been a bit worried that DH hasn't been 'getting it' - I have asked and offered but he is really worried about it bless.

Ooo caught OBEM earlier, floods of tears and a bit scary. Think it may be a repeat but not seen much before! Tummy still sore :/

Barbeasty · 10/06/2012 21:48

Maybe it's worth talking to your midwife/ the homebirth team about the story and just seeing what they say. It might put your mind at rest if they run through what should happen in similar scenarios to stop it going so wrong.

And bear in mind things can go wrong wherever you choose (just to cheer you up...)

Chloe55 · 11/06/2012 07:19

Clarella I watched it too-brought back some scary memories and I was in floods of tears-that's exactly what happened with my ds (not the lovely calm water birth, the shoulder dystocia at the end Sad) I even got dh to watch that final clip and he said well thankfully they told her what was happening, we didn't have a fucking clue as people piled into the room-scariest few moments of our lives. No waiting for another contraction here either he was literally ripped out!

Sleeping situation-I would put them all in together until the eldest starts to want her own space then give up the playroom. I would have liked a playroom when I was childminding but it isn't essential Smile

StrawberrytallCAKE · 11/06/2012 09:00

ellie your story is pretty much the same a mine last time I really enjoyed sex and then as soon as dd was born I didn't want any intimacy at all. I had a bit of pnd and felt like physically I was already too much in demand, i still don't understand it totally but dd was around 3 when I got back to normal and now I feel back to square one.

clarella if he wants a handjob he can do it himself Grin

chloe the wedding was on dh's side of the family, the description he gave was 'you know one of those bad dreams where you go to a party with the last people in the world you would ever want to see?' well that was pretty much it. We went to keep his parents happy.

Pregnancy yoga in 1hr and I've still got to have a shower and take dd to nursery, better get a move on!

15 weeks today, woo!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 11/06/2012 09:01

FYI gap have a sale on some maternity clothes online, started this morning.

mwahmwah · 11/06/2012 09:13

4 sleeps till scan! Just had a giant white chocolate cookie for breakfast. When will the nausea ever end?

mwahmwah · 11/06/2012 09:15

Probably when I stop eating said giant white chocolate cookies for breckie... :)

livismum · 11/06/2012 09:23

Morning ladies it's so nice to know everyone is going through similar issues and it's not just me! We have had sex once since finding out but afterwards I practically fainted in the kitchen! Think the increased heart rate was to blame, I felt dizzy and went to get a drink but ended up calling out for DH, saw stars and his and my voice sounded really far away, lied down on the floor and the feeling went, never fainted before and it was quite scary, but I don't think DH will be too worried if we don't do it again for a while! Smile

lauraloo09 · 11/06/2012 09:39

morning everyone hope you are all ok its hard to keep up on this thread!

strawberry thanks for letting us know about Gap will give it a look
pidjin hope everything was ok with the DVT

well im actually starting to worry now, went for first 12 weeks without a worry but now i am...i have no sign of a bump and i was told you show earlier with future pregnancies. last time when i was 15/16 weeks i was showing a noticable bump but this time at 15 weeks there is absolutely nothing showing and even if i prod myself i dont feel any sort of a bump starting at all worried something has happened :(

CODwidow · 11/06/2012 09:50

Lauraloo this is my 5th and I'm almost 14 weeks and still in my jeans I'm not showing either so I just think its another case of everyone's different. Try not to worry too much, I think I was at least 20 weeks with all of mine before I actually had a 'bump' .

Very emotional today, didn't help that I had to leave ds screaming at nursery today so cried all the way home and now sat hoping all my boys know how much I love them and whether I've shown them enough attention while they've been home! These hormones are a nightmare!

Clarella · 11/06/2012 10:43

Lauraloo my 'bump' has shrunk from a week or two ago - don't they only say it shows more because your muscles will be less tight? If you're still going to karate (? Or taekwandok) I imagine you'll have a level of fitness that might hold it all in more? I don't think I can feel my uterus yet. Desperate to feel some movement cos I'm really worried about all these thyroid things going on, but trying to assume all is well! The tummy cramps were a bit scary but must have been something I ate, I guess its all being pushed upwards so i'll have to watch my gobbling! I now own gaviscon for first time in my life :/

FriendofDorothy · 11/06/2012 11:06

Has everyone stopped taking folic acid now? I am 13 weeks and have just finished my prescribed folic acid from the GP. Do I need to get any more?

WeeJo08 · 11/06/2012 11:34

FriendofDorothy I'm still taking mine as it's in a pregnancy multivitamin (the Sainsbury's own brand one) and it says it's okay through pregnancy and breastfeeding? Do you think I should stop?

CODwidow · 11/06/2012 11:35

I have stopped now but not able to take other supplements either as they made me so constipated and uncomfortable but spoke to mw and she has said as long as I have a varied diet there's no problem Smile

Stacks · 11/06/2012 12:01

I'm still taking my multivitamins, and will continue doing so. I recommend people take vitamin D too. I was sure there was NHS advice to do so, but a quick Google didn't turn any up. However this site says:

"Some people are more at risk of vitamin D deficiency, and so are recommended to take vitamin D supplements routinely. These include all pregnant women, breast-fed babies, children under five, and people aged 65 and over. Also, people who do not get much exposure to the sun, people with black or Asian skin types, and people with certain gut, liver or kidney diseases."

This is in my pregnancy multivits though.

Stacks · 11/06/2012 12:05

Found it!

Here's the NHS site which says:

"All pregnant and breastfeeding women should take a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of vitamin D, to ensure the mother?s requirements for vitamin D are met and to build adequate fetal stores for early infancy."
