Excited for you COD! I have one week and six days, not that I'm counting or anything....

No showing off or anything but I have had no problem with going to the loo I have to go the second I wake up which is unusual for me!

Still feeling tired and sicky, so jealous of all the bumps I could still fit in my size 8 jeans at seven months with dd, probably be the same this time?

Seymore how are you finding it out there? I've see some tv programmes on maternity care etc in Australia and it's always looked really good, where in Surrey are you from?

This is DC2 and I'm not looking forward to telling anyone, other than a few friends, it's silly really, maybe because it wasn't planned.

Ps. anyone else get emotional watching Gary barlow's song 'sing' during jubilee concert?

Hey SpottyTeacakes my scans on the 19th think that makes us scan buddies! (if my brain calculates a week and 6 days right!) 10.45, so not hanging around all day but I'll be still be a nervous/excited wreck! Think there will be a few raised eyebrows at us having a third, but we have always said we might! And me and DH are both 1 of 3 so (the dads r who will raise eyebrows) so it really shouldn't surprise!

Yep mine's on the 19th too :) 10:20 here but dd has an appointment at 9:30 so won't have much time to think about it!

I still feel ill and now I'm cross and frustrated as well because I don't feel better I spent Friday until Monday in bed and it still didn't shake off the congestion. I've finished my antibiotics now, so I guess I just have to wait to feel better. I really wanted to enjoy half term with the ds's and now I fear there will be a lot of tv in their week Moan over

I find it really hard to tell people I'm pregnant, I just can't seem to make the words come sometimes. I don't like drawing attention to myself so that may be the reason. This time I've told close friends one to one and then either dropped it into conversation indirectly or let ds2 tell people. The latter has been very effective I haven't told anyone at work apart from the head and as I leave in the summer I might try and get away without telling anyone.

Chloe I know how concerned you are about your dh's drinking, but at least he has cut down. Maybe the best thing would be to agree a limit on what he drinks in a week? Then he could gradually decrease it perhaps? He needs to focus on the fact that in December you will be having a baby in the middle of lots of social events. If he drinks then, how will he get you to the hospital? It may be worth pointing this out if he hasn't thought of it yet.

CODwidow enjoy tomorrow hope it all goes ok. Is there someone else being scanned tomorrow too? If so good luck to them too.

My scan is a week today, I can't wait!! Hopefully I will get a definitive due date. I could be anything from 12+5 (private scan), 12+2 (me) or 11+6 (midwife). Some agreement might be nice

Prunella your bump is gorgeous, mine never look like that People who know keep looking at my tummy and I keep wanting to say. 'Nothing there, that's just pre-existing lard.' I'm a bit behind some of you, but no problems with clothes not fitting here at all. In fact after being ill some are a bit loose. So still holding on to staying out of maternity clothes for as long as poss.

Another one here who'll be in Brizzle tomorrow a 3 hour train journey to visit a friend!

Ivana absolutely hate telling people, still can't say the word 'pregnant' without lapsing into a whisper. Pretty shy at the best of times but recently DH (a man of few words) has become so exasperated with my inability to voice the subject that he has to do it for me.

Queen been crying a plenty through all the jubilee stuff, that particular tune didn't set me off but loads of other random moments. i'm usually very stiff upper lip but have become a blubbering mess. (dreading anyone else finding me in one of these states - so far it's only happened when alone)

Anyone else suffering from a complete memory meltdown? It's driving me up the wall - heading off on a camping holiday tomorrow and there's so much to do and consider but my brain won't keep up from one minute to the next.

Bean/lime not so small anymore- over 10cm!! My dates were spot on, still13 weeks so no change to DD (always worries me they're going to say no you're less weeks than you thought)
Fluid measurement was about 1.5ish I think (was peering over at the screen to see!) but he/she was the wrong way round and moving so much it was hard to get a good pic. Was in there for ages was so lovely. No tears though.
Consultant app wasn't about BMI like midwife said- it was because I had a massive blood loss after DD so that's why I'm higher risk (stupid midwife, makes me dislike the woman even more!!)

Anyway hope you are all having a good day, am on my phone in the middle of town so will catch up on everyone else's news later.

Hello all! Had a very busy weekend so haven't been able to get on much but have caught up. My 30th party on Sunday was a washout but lots of fun. The only problem with being sober and pregnant at a BBQ party is being able to smell meat, alcohol and smoke on everyone. Bleurgh.

Congratulations on scan cookies and good luck COD I am going to book a scan to find out the sex because I am an impatient cow and know the NHS might not tell me at 20 weeks. We have 3 1/2 weeks left until ruling out 50% of our baby names list which could solve some arguments!!

DH and I are still on our anniversary spa break until tomorrow and have a wedding to go to on Saturday. It is dh's brothers wedding who has been a knob to me because he knows I know he has cheated on her numerous times and his wag who is equally disgusting. It seems in the car on the way to drop dd to my dmum's house on Monday morning I might have muttered 'fucking wedding'. Apparently dd (3yo) said to my mum 'mummy said - fucking wedding'. I am a terrible mother.

I'm in Gloucestershire too, although today I'm working in Bristol (I'm split between Gloucester and Bristol), and my family still live in Bristol.

Lived for a while in Wiltshire too.

I'm under consultant care because I'm diabetic but also high risk due to pre-eclampsia with dd where I was induced at 36 weeks, had a small pph too.

Oh, I feel so much better for some proper sleeeep over the long weekend. Hooray for the Queen if only cos she gave me an extra day off!

Also feel better hearing fellow Dec-ers say they have been snappy and ratty with their OHs. I was horrid to DH last night even though he'd been lovely to me all weekend .

I know what you all mean about being embarrassed to tell people. I have found the phrase "I have some news" is quite useful - avoids using the P word and people instantly guess what I am getting at! So far I have managed to tell family and a few friends, and one of my bosses informally, but now I need to tell work formally.. eek.

hiya all, been a while since ive been on here.. youve all been busy!

i, too, am finding it hard to tell people my news. I think im nervous about how they are going to react, as im only 20, i find it often get disapproving looks; but im much much more mature than people who dont know me give me credit for!

ive seen quiet a few people on here struggling to 'go to the loo' but ive had no problems im finding it mildly amusing that my lack of problem also now causes worry!

i thought and hoped.. and prayed.. that my morning sickness was starting to be over (10+4 today) but alas no, my little jelly bean has decided that it doesnt like marmite on toast (which so far, has been my only saviour!)
about to drag DP to shops to find food i can eat!!

also, struggling with hormones.. moving around makes me feel sick so DP has been doing everything, yet im still grumpy @ him?!?!
i feel sorry for him!!

is it true that the 20 week scan they dont neccessarily tell you the sex? i want to know, but ive read bits and bobs here and there saying that they wernt told etc etc.... what are the circumstances?!?!

hoping that everyone stops being sick soon!

becca I spoke to midwife about the gender thing at 20 week scan and she said its first and foremost a medical examination so the sex of baby is really only a bonus if they can spot it. She also said its region specific; some places tell you some don't.

At mine they only tell you if you ask and if they can find out in the time allocated after everything else is checked.

I only asked because I don't want to know & was worried they might automatically say!

Had my scan today, all fine, but now have annoying wait for bloods results, so STILL can't tell anyone!

I didn't know it was tricky to get the sex - I have a sneaking suspicion from my 13+3 scan pic! I think its ok up here if you want it but could be wrong ....

Have now purchased prune juice.

well im hoping to get a second night of karate in tonight as long as i can stay awake! is anyone else suffering severe tiredness? I am currently winning a Quinny Dreami Carrycot for my Quinny pram, was going to buy a brand new Oyster pram but not able to convince DH into spending that amount of money on a new pram when we have a perfectly suited Quinny and this is our last DC so fingers crossed i win it :)

Prune juice is vile but sometimes essential, don't drink too much or you may be in pain! like me a few weeks ago.

I've heard pear juice does the same thing?

Hello December babes! Congrats to the scanned ladies :) mine is a week tomorrow at 12+4

Morning sickness left at 9 weeks, then came constipation! Thankfully thats gone too and it's so nice to enjoy food again without the thought of it make you heave.

I hadn't planned on telling my family until 12 weeks but they found out. Not a great story as a midwife (not mine) called my house to give results (told the office to only call mobile) and outed it to my mother and sister :( they are happy though after the initial shock.

Told my father, two brothers and step mum over dinner last sunday and they promptly burst into tears of joy so that made up for it!

Seems more real now my family know and I can openly talk about it.

Oh and has anyone else had a uti? I've got a nasty one which has made me dizzy and ill. I'm on cefalexin and hope thats ok and it buggers off!

Yep I figured treat prune juice like medicine! Not sure about pear juice but think pears are generally very good anyhow. My god what we have to think about!

Admire you lauraloo, slacked off training a few weeks ago and yes had a horrid last 6 days of extreme tiredness - blaming relaxin for everything! aiming to try and start building up again as tiredness getting better. Been quite shocked by a yoga acquaintances' experience of effects of relaxin on her wrists, DD is 2 and she still finds downward dog painful on her wrists. :/
