PurplePidjinghamPalace · 05/06/2012 21:34

Spotty - and COD - there'll be about 6 of us. Not exactly a big group Wink

Gimme a minute and i'll link the fred...

MyDaydream · 05/06/2012 21:35

I'm in Yorkshire too.
I start my new job tomorrow, no idea how I'm going to cope being awake so long I'm still really struggling with tiredness. See myself falling asleep on the train coming home and ending up somewhere strange.

Saphiesgirl · 05/06/2012 21:35

Hi everyone, it takes me ages to catch up on here- by the time I'm up to date, I don't have any time to post! I'm in scotland by the way.

Prunella you look great, if I only looked as good I'd not worry. I'm definitely showing- look several months gone but was same with 1st preg. Showing really early then ended up with a very neat bump- didn't even look pregnant from the back( just as well as I'm size 16/18!). I reckon I'll be the size of a house this time!

Sorry to hear of those feeling poorly, I'm not too bad. Have nausea but it's stress induced due to work probs. not ms. Telling colleagues Tom, wish me luck as I'll really need it!

Can someone please add me to the list- I can't do it on phone. Due 26th, number 2!
Ta

brooke89 · 05/06/2012 21:47

Hello everyone, hope you all had a good long weekend! Going to have to catch up on thread tomorrow. Good luck for everyone with scans this week!!

lauraloo09 · 05/06/2012 21:49

Evening all hope everyone is ok just back from karate again just did what I could and it was fab :)
Its sounds so silly but I don't have a bump as yet must be hiding under some fat thought I would have been showing something at 14 weeks can't help but worry a bit that something has happened

Oh I'm from Scotland wee town called Greenock near Glasgow xxx

annelid · 05/06/2012 22:07

I'm in Yorkshire too!

ellliebelle · 05/06/2012 22:15

oooo quite a few yorkshire ladies due in december :)

clarella do you know much about slings? i didnt untill dd2 was around 4 months and then i got slightly addicted to baby wearing :) ended up with a woven wrap a mei tai and a ring sling :) ill pop dome pics on my profile when im on the computer

Cookiesandcream06 · 05/06/2012 22:24

purple I can't get on the link is it because I'm on my phone? If I'm not working I would love to join Smile

Clarella · 05/06/2012 22:28

Ellie, know nothing though did some secretive sling spying at the green festival on Sunday! I think I saw those a bit there and looked like the kind id like. I've also seen one where you can breast feed under a flap or maybe the same one?

Due to considerable over stuffing this weekend have discovered how nice it is to put a pillow between knees.... am now wedged between two new ikea cylinder cushions much to DHs consternation. Hey, I have to wash up in garden trugs in the bath, I think I can have a little comfort?! (shame its not really due to a baby but I reckon it will be like this in a couple of months! )

HoneyMum21 · 05/06/2012 22:35

Oooh Clarella good to see someone else from Newcastle on here!

CODwidow · 05/06/2012 22:37

I'll have to check out link tomorrow as on my phone at the mo.

ivanapoo · 05/06/2012 22:50

I'm in Bristol

Feeling a lot less tired and sick which is of course brilliant and made a meal tonight with butter beans in which is something of a miracle given any kind of pulse or legume has made me want to puke for the last couple of months. This week I've even done - shock! - some exercise and even - double shock - some proper house cleaning, both of which have been out of the question (vigorous movement making me feel rough previously).

Only 2 sleeps till official scan... Feel a bit scared and excited at the same time.

For some reason I feel really nervous about telling people beyond the ones that already know. I think maybe because it will just make it real and I'm slightly shitting it... Does anyone else feel like this (PFB in my case)?

CODwidow · 05/06/2012 22:53

Ivanapoo I'm originally from Bristol and visiting family there tomorrow Smile

giraffe213 · 05/06/2012 23:08

Ivanapoo I was really nervous about telling people, even close friends, couldn't work out why but it did get easier with each person. I think it was something to do with hardly believing it myself! (it's my first, too). I'm surprised you're only having your official scan tomorrow, I'm due on the same date as you and I had mine nearly 3 weeks ago! (thought I was 11.6 but actually only 10.6) Still at least you'll know it's definitely ok then - having it a bit early meant I still felt a bit funny about announcing it until I hit the 12 week mark.

I'm in Wales by the way.

ivanapoo · 05/06/2012 23:25

Hi COD, I'll wave if I see you (imagines giant fish wandering around Brizzle) ;) my

Hi giraffe My date is out of date! I had a scan a week or two ago, which showed I was two weeks behind where my period thought I should be. I haven't updated the list yet as waiting for a more "official" date at this week's scan. so I am guessing I'll be about a week behind you.

Good to hear I'm not the only one feeling nervous about telling people, totally feel the same about not believing it. Errk!

ivanapoo · 05/06/2012 23:26

Not sure where random "my" came from, sorry about that!

giraffe213 · 05/06/2012 23:32

How do you update the list? I haven't put myself on there yet, not really sure how to Blush

ivanapoo · 05/06/2012 23:36

I just copied and pasted most recent one and added myself in (now wondering if there is some magical updating thing in missing!)

FriendofDorothy · 05/06/2012 23:38

No that's how you update it. Just make sure you copy, paste and amend the most recent list in the thread.

giraffe213 · 05/06/2012 23:43

Thanks :) I'll do that sometime, but not tonight, it's past my bedtime already and DH is snoring on the sofa next to me!

SeymoreButts · 06/06/2012 02:22

I'm in Sydney for a few years, but normally Surrey.

I had yet another bout of gastroenteritis on Monday, I've been referred for more tests because it keeps happening and I've actually lost weight despite having a reasonable bump now. I've only just managed my first proper meal since Sunday night!

I'm 13+6 today and finally having my booking appointment with the midwife this afternoon!

CODwidow · 06/06/2012 07:07

13 w today Grin although I'm sure that'll change one way or the other tomorrow. This is my 5th and still feels like Xmas eve Grin

Clarella · 06/06/2012 07:13

(waves at honeymum though the rain!)

Seymore that sounds nasty - hope booking goes well and they sort you out.

Good luck with peeps telling work - found it really hard to tell anyone - had to tell work very early for health and safety which felt quite frankly awkward as I knew it was almost silly as could easy have been lost, (as possibly happened the previous month at 5 wks) but at the same time had to to minimise mc risk due to physical requirements of job. I think that feeling has remained with me to the point that my voice now won't actually say the words around people from my martial arts group unless I have to. If people guess I can say yes and its hopefully filtered through. It seems to be much easier for younger colleagues - probably cos at 35 I am surrounded now by people struggling to conceive or who've had mc's.

Queenofsiburbia · 06/06/2012 07:33

Hello all!
I turn away for 5 minutes and now am lost! Been through the posts and seems there's lots to smile about. I too am eating cheese crackers and apples. Could be on a ginger beer drip I love it so much but trying to restrain because of vast amounts of sugar!
clarella good advice about prunes.. Oh dear! Think that may explain my bump too (sorry for grossing anyone out).

chloe55 i know we've 'chatted' prev about over drinking in other halves as I went through a similar thing with my ex (that wasnt why he became my ex) and it's very very hard but I really think your man is on a seriously good track. The flowers help of course but you know the important thing is what he does. It's going to be a slow and incremental process and possibly better that way as I think (like clarella wrote) cold turkey can be so much pressure it's almost an excuse to fail.
I suppose what you're looking for is a general downward curve (downward in terms number of seriously drunken bouts) over time. In some ways, once you've made your position clear it's best to drop subject and review every now and again, so that you dont become his sober conscience (he may find that annoying and want to rebel!). Sounds really positive and I have my fingers crossed but do not feel down if there is a lapse or two. It really depends on his attitude about it. I think it's hard for some men as they really get in habit of thinking they're at their most fun after a few drinks and male socialising can sort of encourage that my sister she likes me best after a few drinks! of course we all know that's not true.
