OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Clarella · 31/05/2012 22:11

I'm still finishing the conception ones :/ I checked with 3 different pharmacists they said it was ok cos excessive stuff gets weed out (god I'm getting ocd about all this!)

CODwidow · 31/05/2012 22:30

I'm going to buy some iron supplement tomorrow but I guess I will need to check with the pharmacist if it's safe to continue with the pregnacare don't want to 'overdose' on iron !

Stacks · 31/05/2012 23:03

You can't really overdose on iron, I was taking loads and loads of it when I was anemic. It can make you constipated though, and turn your poo black.

Clarella · 31/05/2012 23:13

I had to stop taking iron multivitamins in my 20s because I started being sick about an hour after - was told if you take too much your body expells it that way, obviously not if aneamic. I was told to try berocca, you wee out water soluble stuff thus neon wee. Pregnacare has most of same stuff but wee isn't always neon, so I must need it! Oops tmi.

Clarella · 31/05/2012 23:15

Think it can irritate stomach too, best to check?

Walnut8 · 01/06/2012 05:37

When I was pregnant last time (about 3 yrs ago), research had just come out about a link btn increased risk of asthma in children and women who had taken folic acid throughout their pregnancy (ie past 1st trimester). I went off my pregnancy multivits after I read that but felt so tired and terrible that I started taking them again every second day for the rest of my pregnancy.

CODwidow · 01/06/2012 07:25

Oh no the sickness continues Sad

knottyhair · 01/06/2012 08:13

Hi everyone! Wondered if I could join. I'm 44, and I'm 10+4 with my second, due Christmas Eve. I have an 8 year old DS and we were definitely not planning on any more so it's all been a bit of a shock, but we're getting there. Had my booking in appt with midwife yesterday and need to wait for nuchal scan date now - obviously worried about the baby being OK given my geriatric age! I'm nauseous for most of the day, much worse in the evenings but not actually being sick (same as in my first pregnancy). Just need to stop eating so much! I just find that something every couple of hours helps with the nausea...

Clarella · 01/06/2012 09:08

Wow congratulations knotty hair! Both my grandmothers were 39/40 with their first and around 42/43 with their second in the late 1940s and early 50s, all fine so nothing to say you can't be! :) :)

Clarella · 01/06/2012 09:13

Gawd, If you don't want to weep today, don't listen to desert island discs with Denise Robertson. If you do want to weep....

knottyhair · 01/06/2012 09:14

Thanks Clarella Smile.

DangerMousey · 01/06/2012 09:18

Hello ladies, can I join too? Only just found my way onto these antenatal clubs from the general preggo boards.

I am 13+6 with DC1, due on 1 December, so just sneaking into your club :-)

My nausea seems to have gone over the past week or so - no need to put a sickbag in my handbag for the morning commute any more :) instead I know feel generally achey and sore everywhere between my waist and my knees. Guess this is the normal stretching that you're supposed to feel, but it's feckin annoying!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 01/06/2012 09:26

morning peoples, i too am dizzy/tired in the afternoons but i'm putting it down to the mugginess round here and trying to ignor it

hopefully i am well over the weekend as it's the derby tomo and i really wanna go (although it will suck not being able to drink pimms)

got dentist this morning, dunno if tey're gunna throw a strop though coz i recently got married and haven't changed my name with them yet, but my pregnancy exemption card is in my married name, i'm just taking my marriage cert and hoping they will accept it lol

Queenofsiburbia · 01/06/2012 11:10

Brooke, I had my second yesterday (had to go back too) and they still couldn't measure it, despite me scanning, walking around for 20 mins scanning again etc etc, 3 times! DH said the lime (current description on 'sprout' app!) must be aiming for fame as surely its the most scanned baby ever.

Baby / lime is all normal and wiggled every where except the correct way!
Because no luck with his neck measurement ive got to go for blood test in a couple of weeks instead.

Think we should prepare for naughty babies!!!

gilsbubbles · 01/06/2012 16:34

Bought myself a learn to crochet book..... anyone else finding that pregnancy is bringing out previously unheard of crafty cravings?

PurplePidjinghamPalace · 01/06/2012 17:12

Gils, I don't need pg for that - have a look on my profile!

Well, Mike the classic Beetle failed his MOT today. I was facing having to get rid anyway, but shocked its come to this Sad I thought we had a few more months together

CODwidow · 01/06/2012 17:15

Feeling a bit Angry had a few mums at the park after school saying how I've obviously done my bit now and I must be completely crazy having 4 dc's. I obviously only had them as I want a girl gggrr they don't even know I'm pregnant so I guess it'll give them something to talk about soon!

CODwidow · 01/06/2012 17:38

Sorry for the rant but it just feels sometimes people are very opinionated when it comes to bigger families.

Anyway 12 + 2 today and scan in 6 sleeps! Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 01/06/2012 17:56

Oh I'm sure they just weren't thinking COD ignore them!

I think I have the silliest reason for crying to date: I was driving home and got stuck behind someone then they turned off the main road the same way as me, it's a really narrow windy road, and they pulled over to let me past. This bought tears to my eyes then man in the mirror playing on the radio caused full on sobbing Confused Blush

MyDaydream · 01/06/2012 18:06

Spotty I keep crying for silly reasons too. The other night me and DP were watching TV and I started crying because of how happy he made me. He hadn't even done anything he was just sat there!

HoneyMum21 · 01/06/2012 19:18

Spotty i've just been crying for about half an hour because my book was 'mildly' upsetting!

acjfluff · 01/06/2012 19:21

I finally saw that Polo advert. I cried after the 1st part where she's a baby and just kept going. By the end I was a wreck. So out of character Blush

CODwidow · 01/06/2012 19:23

I cried watching spongebob with ds earlierBlush

SpottyTeacakes · 01/06/2012 19:32

I feel so ridiculous I never cry at anything!!

I've just found out that my oldest friend is having a baby too! She is due two weeks before me, it's so perfect I'm so happy for her!

Stupid pregnancy is giving me horrendous spots I look skanky. On the plus side my usually limp, greasy hair is thick and luscious and my brittle nails are long and painted :)

Also I'm a bit excited because dp has gone to buy an Indian, hopefully I won't be able to taste it for the next week as with previous pregnancy Hmm

kateand2boys · 01/06/2012 20:20

spotty I also have lovely nails when pregnant, terrible and flaky all the rest of the time.

cod just ignore them, someone asked if dh was my second husband the other day because of the age gap. Imagine how embarassed they'll feel when they fond out.

I cried yesterday because I bought cheddar mash for dh and he doesn't eat cheese.

I'm still not well, went back to the docs and saw my usual gp. He said I have a sinus infection and given me antibiotics. I'm not keen to take them, but took them at similar stage with the other 2 and they turned out fine. He told me to go to.bed and test as much as possible and when I mentioned camping he looked horrified and said 'you're not serious!' So I'm staying at home for the weekend on my own and all my boys are off camping in the rain. Still feeling sorry for myself Sad
