OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kateand2boys · 31/05/2012 18:25

I'm glad all the scans are going well and people are starting to feel better.

clarella probably best to give school a miss if you are worried. There's plenty of time for training when you're not pregnant.

cod sounds like a trip to the docs might be a good idea.

No bump yet, but do feel as if things ate being pushed up.

I'm feeling sorry for myself, I have an ear infection. I feel really poorly, can't even look after the ds's, my dad had to pick them up from school and is bringing them home later. I'm supposed to take the Beavers camping this weekend, but not feeling like this. Sad

Clarella · 31/05/2012 18:32

Codwidow, could you have low blood pressure?

CODwidow · 31/05/2012 18:42

Yes I think I do (blood pressure was low at booking in) but it seems to be getting worse and the tiredness seems so much worse than in the earlier weeks. I was in tears earlier as the indigestion is causing me to heave tmi sorry and I've spent nearly all afternoon in the loo. I just feel like I'm having to ignore my ds's as I'm too exhausted to do anything. Sorry moan over.

Clarella · 31/05/2012 18:46

Sorry about your earache Kate, its horrid, hope you feel better soon. Can you miss beavers? You're such a busy beaver already, you need to rest up if you can.

Yep, school was fine - its the head who tries to pressurise, the deputies thought I was mad but I'm feeling so guilty (due to head) But more guilty about baby and missing training is reversible, catching a life threatening virus isn't for baby.

Cakebump, sorry pudding brain, are you banned for that other virus? Nope signed off till 20 weeks, will be in the last week.of the summer term - finally actually beginning to think a small 'yay!' When thyroid settles I'm gonna work on bits from home policies etc which is nice :) though school want sicknotes for the cover insurance. its going to be hard doing 8 weeks work after all this calm in Sept and Oct! Will be making to most of it from now on!

I'm very dizzy this afternoon, very odd.

Clarella · 31/05/2012 18:51

Cod, I think I read that low blood pressure can be with tummy issues but as easily crappy preg indigestion I suppose - Make sure you're drinking lots if you can, I think that's supposed to help? A small bit of salt or rehydration thingys too?

CakeBump · 31/05/2012 18:53

That's odd re: dizziness Clarella, maybe get checked out if its not gone by morning...

Yep, banned due to no immunity for CMV. Its now been FOUR WEEKS!!! and they still haven't communicated with me at all regarding what happens with pay etc. I could have been in helping with the older children or doing something in the office - I've got no idea what they are thinking....

Definitely make the most of your time off - I've got a lovely tan! Smile

Gosh, I hadn't even realised that there was a new thread, and it's up to 15 pages already! Anyway, I had my scan today and all is well (well, still need the results of the bloods for the Downs' combined test, but I assume that it's OK since the sonographer said that the thickness of the Nuchal whatsit is well within the normal range.

Anywho, my due date has now changed by two days so I'm updating the list:

HoneyMum21 · 31/05/2012 19:05

Glad to hear people's scans have been going well - we have our second try at the nuchal scan a week today as bump was slightly to small when we went last week.

I think i'm starting to get bump - i'm fairly thin normally so the bump is getting noticable! Also, i'm finding i get really full after a couple of mouthfulls of food but then am hungry again really quickly so i think this means everything is being pushed up?

Might sound daft Clarella but (depending what part of the country you're in and what the weather is doing) but humidity can make you really dizzy - i always feel dizzy when the air is really humid - i think it can affect blood pressure (but i'm not sure if that is def the reason)

Bellaboo123 · 31/05/2012 19:46

Me too starting to get a bit of a bump more so as the day goes on! Just invested in my first pair of maternity trousers a bargain from new look at £12 as the have a promotion!

Really glad all the scans are coming back well - starting to feel real now!

Has everyone stopped taking Folic supplements at 12 weeks? I take a pregnancy multi vitamin with Folic - should I discontinue now?

GreatExpectation · 31/05/2012 19:47

Hi everyone! My EDD is 17th Dec, with my first. Feeling pretty normal really, apart from my rapidly expanding boobs!! Anyone on here suffering from hayfever? Which treatments are safe?

Clarella · 31/05/2012 19:53

Could be, its usually on the lower side anyway - that could be affecting you cod? we had a mammoth down pour a couple of hours ago, may have been building. personally for me, I think its over zealous unintentional and badly planned fibre eating and a metabolism feeling the effects of dynamite. Been on the loo all day and insides feel like they've been in a cage fight. (intestines not baby) sorry tmi!

Cakebump very annoying esp about the pay, luckily I'm ok on that is so frustrating for you. surely they have insurance? its costing 1000 quid a week apparently to cover me; they don't even want the doc to start giving me sick notes which list what I can do off site or no insurance claim! No tan but after FIVE weeks im finally calm enough to see the benefits. I was totally mad before! I think it was not knowing from one day or week to the next what to expect, the last case popped up 24 hours before I was due to return!

Clarella · 31/05/2012 19:55

Congrats great!

Not sure on that, asked a pharmacist? They can be over cautious so good advice!

PurplePidjinghamPalace · 31/05/2012 20:09

Argh stuck at youth club and my ligaments are joining in twanging like guitar strings! (Music project)

PurplePidjinghamPalace · 31/05/2012 20:09

Argh stuck at youth club and my ligaments are joining in twanging like guitar strings! (Music project)

CODwidow · 31/05/2012 20:42

Just tested bp and heart rate and bp is ok but heart rate was 135 so I think I'll go to gp tomorrow as this is also a sign anaemia, I just want to feel a bit more normal now.

CakeBump · 31/05/2012 21:08

oh are you supposed to stop folic acid at 12 weeks?

SpottyTeacakes · 31/05/2012 21:14

You can stop at twelve weeks but no harm in taking it longer. I have to take 5mg a day midwife said until thirteen weeks but doctor said twelve.

Bellaboo123 · 31/05/2012 21:16

Thanks I've only got about 6 left so I might finish the pack!

brooke89 · 31/05/2012 21:16

I was just going to ask if we have to stop taking folic acid now? forgot to ask earlier!

SpottyTeacakes · 31/05/2012 21:37

Also meant to be taking vitamin d but I've had lots of sun recently Grin

CakeBump · 31/05/2012 21:39

If its in a combined supplement then presumably you should carry on until the end of the pregnancy?

Sorry for all the questions but this is all news to me!

mwahmwah · 31/05/2012 21:53

my midwife said keep taking the supplements throughout the pregnancy. I'm in Scotland and that's apparently the new advice x

Stacks · 31/05/2012 22:03

I'm going to keep taking them, I've got pregnacare which say you can take then for pg and breastfeeding. I bought 3x 3 month packets on a 2 get one free deal. There is no harm taking them longer, just no proven medical need. I figure it's good to cover the iron and other vits. Also, I think the new guidelines for all of UK is to take vit d for the whole pregnancy.

CakeBump · 31/05/2012 22:05

thanks. I'll keep taking them I think too.
