hiya all, only just found this thread! due 29th dec and petrified!
already had a scan at 6 weeks due to being in hospital, baby was just a little jelly bean!
looking forward to my next scan on the 22nd june!!

Well I don't have the money but dp does it's £100 for the nearest one (still 40 mins away)

I didn't cry when dd was born or when I had my scans but I did cry the other day because dd is so cute

lauraloo i was a size 20 when i fell pregnant with DS (baby #2) so the bump was there before the baby really

with #3 i was about 8 weeks, my body just went 'oh i know what to do!' and did it, wish i could have stayedi n normal clothes for a bit longer but maternity stuff is soooo much more comfy (esp with bad morning sickness) and everyone i've seen loves my new maternity dress and keep saying how well i look (i wish i felt it) so i don't mind too much

Afternoon everyone. I think my bump is starting to show up now, at around 12 weeks, however it's not me looking fat/big belly. I've only put on 1-2kg, but I've noticed the shape of my tummy is different. Also, if I sort of slouch over forwards I no longer get 'fat rolls' around my waistline, but I now get them up under my breasts!

Not sure I've explained it very well, does anyone understand what I mean? Anyone else noticed this?

My stomach is sort of flat but I think looks a bit firmer now in general. I don't think I'll actually 'show' to the casual observer for a few weeks yet.

Yup me Stacks. I got offered a seat on the tube today and I'm only 12+6 Up till last week I had a bit of extra flab/bloating but now I seem to have less bloating and more actual rounded tummy.

My friend reckons I'm starting to show, but it could be that I was slouching! I'll ask dp for a proper analysis later

I find it hard not to automatically suck my stomach in - think it's my default setting! :o

mine is a real baby belly not just flab, i look about 4/5 months, i would suck my stomach in but when i try it doesn't go anywhere lol

stacks mine is like that just slighty rounder still in my clothes although they are a bit tighter especially when sitting but living in maxi dresses in this weather anyway
This time next week I'll have had my scan really can't wait now just for the reassurance and for it to feel 'real'

Mine looks huge when I've eaten - after a trip to the loo its almost flat, save the little pocket of fat I've put on around my belly button like a donut (tho mostly cheese). I had put on half a stone (could have done with a few more pounds anyway) but lost a couple this week. All I'm bothered about is the fact that my bottom is a fat magnet and expanding faster than my waist! Such a pear. Tend to go by the tape measure than the scales anyway, bottom is under strict monitoring!

Oh yes I did notice its a bit tight where your diaphragm/stomach is with a particular dress so I guess things may be being pushed up?

I am sooooo glad i told school no for the training - the deputy was unbelievably supportive. I don't think ill talk to the head anymore, she needs serious filtering, censorship and dilution via the deputy! I think she's great but too bothered by money and numbers and the 'youre not ill unless its falling off' attitude. Luckily now, she's going part time in Sept and then retiring so i'll hardly have to deal with her in relation to pregnancy at all.

Ooh ooh voucher codes website has 25% off for gap online today and they have lots of slouchy maxi dresses, some in the sale resulting in a nice black long 'maternity' dress for 20 quid! I didn't look at their actual maternity but might be handy :)

Had my 12 week scan and all was good little bean was in there wriggling away! So happy have to go back on the 12th for another as bean wouldn't move and they couldn't measure proper for nuchal

Hi everyone

I was on the last thread, turned my back for two minutes and there's 14 pages of thread 3 to get through!! :)

I had my scan today. I've had 2 already, one at 5 weeks and one at 7 weeks, but this one was 11 weeks and to see an actual real baby in there was amazing! I said something really dumb like "oh, it looks like a baby!!"....

I was also really surprised that it was moving around so much - wriggling and waving its arms.... doing somersaults....

It is also measuring a week bigger, but I'm absolutely sure of my dates so the doctor thinks its just had an early growth spurt.

So - big sigh of relief today....

I am feeling worse this week than I have before I was 12 weeks. I'm dizzy, light headed, headaches, nausea, huge tiredness and indigestion. I think I may need my iron levels checked??

Spotty If your feeling worried about no symptoms then I'd go for the scan. I was thinking about booking a private scan when I first found out, but I'm feeling more sick as the weeks pass decided for a late on 4D instead because I'm feeling good. If I was symptomless I'd be sweet talking DP into paying for one.
Cake I'm dreading people trying to touch my bump I can't believe your getting it so soon. I hate people touching me and have never felt the need to touch my friends bumps.

I'm feeling very bloated at the minute too, my new clothes came today and only the loose fitting things fit, anything to fit over my tummy is too tight. Do have some fab floaty dresses to see me through summer. If it comes back that is.
Told my mum today as well. She's very excited, was very casual about it, just said "we're having a baby" at a random point in the conversation, and she squealed when she cottoned on. She went to touch my stomach when she left but pointed out it was just lunch she'd be groping.

Hello Cake Bump - like the name!
I don't have a bump in the place where my uterus actually is, but I have one under my bra-line which indicates all m'innards are being pushed up by the tiny little uterus that's growing and growing.
It definitely makes me look pregnant. Right now it's very hot here so I am doing tailored trousers and baggy linen shirts and things for work, when I'm in the office, and basically enjoying working from home!

For those who were worried/worrying about thyroid problems. There's a doctor on another thread who advises doctors on these things! I've got some info she posted a while ago which might help you.

"Full guidelines are here but really this is what I advise the GPs who call me.

1. Check TSH to ensure it is below 2.5. (Normal range in non-preggos is around 0.35-5, we want TSH lower in pregnancy on thyroid replacement.)
2. Thyroxine dose often needs increasing by 30-50%, even by 4-6 weeks!
3. Check TSH (not so fussed about T4) every 4-6 weeks."

Hope that helps a bit. Maybe you can print out the guidelines and keep them in your PG notes so doctors/midwives can read them and do what's right?
