So glad to be hearing lots of good scan stories! Just very anxious i may be the odd one out I switch from positive to negative so quickly at the mo.
Anyway 12 weeks tomorrow which is a nice feeling and only 9 sleeps til scan. Im so glad it's 9:20am I'd have been a trembling wreck that day otherwise! You'd never guess this is my fifth Blush

SeymoreButts · 30/05/2012 02:27

Good news minipie what a relief!

clarella I was getting really worried and down about the thyroid thing, it's the not knowing what the implications are that's the worst part. My first T4 was 12.1 and the second was 12.3, I thought that was really low but apparently it's fine. Confused

I am definitely feeling the odd flutter now, I'm 12+6 but my scan put me 3/4 days further on. I felt movements at about 14 weeks in my 2nd pregnancy. I guess my abs are getting more slack with each one!

Walnut8 · 30/05/2012 06:29

So happy for you minipie.

I had my scan this morning and it went well, so relieved. Baby was kicking around a lot!

We had to bring DD, but she was very well behaved and absolutely fascinated. However now every chance she gets she wants to pull up my shirt to "see the little baby"! I think I am going to have to tell everyone asap!

I hope everything is okay Clarella. Pregnancy is so unbelievably stressful sometimes!

pleasebethismonth · 30/05/2012 07:08

Thanks barbeasty that is really helpful. Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 30/05/2012 09:30

pleasebethismonth please go back to another gp, that one sounds liek a douchebag!

well 11 weeks today and feeling pretty good tbh although i do wanna eat lots of cake! thankfully i have done a favour for a friend and she is baking to thank me :)

lauraloo09 · 30/05/2012 09:45

morning all hope everyone is well

pleasebe i would go to another GP is you can he sounds like a complete fud lol

stacey im the same with regards to cake but trying so hard not to eat any but failing badly

seymore I have thought I have been feeling flutters but didnt know if it is baby moving or just wind Blush hoping its the baby im feeling. I have an angel sounds doppler i bought for my last pregnancy and it was amazing, think itll be another couple of weeks before i try that out.

Well I decided to go to karate last night didnt do any sparring and groundwork and just did kata and it was great just getting some form of exercise felt amazing. I have been starting to feel much better morning sickness wise but still have a touch of sinusitis which is a pita. Can i ask a wee question, just wondered how much weight people have gained so far? I have gained 3.5lbs and hoping not to gain too much in this pregnancy.

Walnut8 · 30/05/2012 11:28

Laura ... I weighed myself just this morning and have put on 4 kilos (12 + 3). Sigh. The receptionist at the clinic this morning asked me very loudly in front of the crowded waiting room (and my DH!) what I weighed!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 30/05/2012 12:14

minipie that's brilliant news, so pleased that you can go on and enjoy your pregnancy now!!!

Coldplay was spectacular and I normally get a bit weepy at some of their songs but the hormones made it much worse, I was almost bawling on dh's shoulder. The problem really was the song yellow, I was thinking about the baby and listening and oh dear I'm crying again.

I've been having really bad headaches and pounding heart for a few days so after my scan today I'm going to the gp just to get my blood pressure checked. Has anyone else had this?

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2012 12:25

strawberry I had palpitations and migraines throughout my first pregnancy but my blood pressure was good until about 32 weeks so although it's definitely best to get check I wouldn't think it's anything to worry about. My doctor said the hormones cause the headaches and palpitations are common Smile

I've just made an amazing curry which I'm about to eat just with popadoms!

FriendofDorothy · 30/05/2012 13:01

I have had a really bad headache for a couple of days. I have taken some paracetamol but I am reluctant to take it too often.

I think it might be partly weather related as it is really muggy here. Wish it would go though!

ivanapoo · 30/05/2012 13:38

Thanks for the cheese clarification everyone. My GP is clearly not up to date, she even told me about the great pasteurised Brie they do in Waitrose (middle class much?).

I've also had my dear MIL tell me how ridiculous I am to avoid any cheese and how she ate all cheeses all the way through all her pregnancies etc (she also told me how she thought feeding on demand was awful and that all her babies were sleeping through by 4 weeks with the help of a special sleep nanny she used... Get the feeling I will be politely ignoring some of her advice!)

8 days till 12 week scan (at 12/4 apparently), feeling less tired which is good but wish I was more patient! I think I have a scan twin, is it you COD...?

mini so pleased to hear about your good results and for everyone else's scans.

CODwidow · 30/05/2012 13:57

It is me ivanpoo what times yours? Smile

CODwidow · 30/05/2012 13:57

Sorry ivanapooBlush

PurplePidjin · 30/05/2012 13:59

None Blush I was the same at my scan as at my booking in!

Any one else got their dark line yet?

sicilianlemons · 30/05/2012 14:36

Congratulations on all the positive scans. Hope the sickness passes soon for everyone too.

On the subject of headaches, I have suffered from migraines for years and have had a couple of really nasty ones during this pregnancy that just wouldn't budge.

I usually take really strong painkillers but obviously none of us can do that at the moment. Just wondered if anyone has tried the menthol Kool n Soothe patches you can get from the chemist. I find them really effective, and you can get a cheaper own brand version from Boots. If I cant get hold of any I sometimes use a bit of deep freeze gel on my temples (but not the roll on headache sticks as I find them a bit useless).

just a thought in case anyone is still suffering and doesn't want to pop any pills Smile

CODwidow · 30/05/2012 14:37

strawberry I've had terrible headaches this time round but blood pressure is fine apparently the vessels in your brain expand during the first 13/14 weeks and can cause migranes Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 30/05/2012 15:37

purple I still have my dark like from dd but it's not on my tummy it's, erm, on my bottom crack Blush

PurplePidjin · 30/05/2012 16:07

Mine's where my jeans fly goes.

I have external evidence of my pregnancy :o:o:o:o:o

Barbeasty · 30/05/2012 16:08

Pleasebeme- glad to help. I remembered reading the article on the local BBC site when I should have been working and thought it might be handy. Hopefully your GP is just ignorant and hasn't come across this situation before, rather than being a complete arse.

Maybe a little re-education could save someone's baby in the future (because I'm sure you'll be fine!)

I've been getting headaches too (cue the start of one now), mainly when I've been stuck all day in my portacabin office on the computer. Hopefully they'll stop soon, or at least get less frequent.

Cookiesandcream06 · 30/05/2012 17:23

Hello all (waves)

Ditto on the headaches, been awful. Bit dizzy recently too. I put it down to weather and hormones of some sort.

Magic 12 week mark today (does a little dance) but still got a week to my scan so I feel saddened that I still can't tell people. Time is standing still! Angry

And with the weight thing.. I the first few months and the two months before BFP I put on about a stone and a half Blush sorry I don't do metric. And was weighed today at docs and have actually lost a pound in the past 4 weeks (this was with shoes on AND straight after a big McDonalds Blush ) so feeling a bit better.

Ps held my friends few-day-old baby today.. OMG. Amazing. So weird how natural it felt to feed (ff obvs) wind and get him back off to sleep.. Very glad i've still got it after nearly 3 years!!! The mothering arm still exists!!

brooke89 · 30/05/2012 17:37

Helloooo all! Can't believe how fast thread moves and never going to get chance to read all that I've missed!

Hope everyone is ok and had some more positive scans since I last checked in Smile mines tomorrow Ahhh nervous!!

ivanapoo · 30/05/2012 17:51

COD mine's 3pm next Thursday. How about you? For some reason having a scan last week has made me feel loads more nervous...

PS don't worry about getting my name wrong, I really don't like it (only set it up as a test account and never got round to changing it... Although I do quite often want a poo)

kalidasa · 30/05/2012 17:57

I had a couple of migraines at the beginning and my Gp said cocodamol was ok for migraine in pregnancy. She looked it up to check for me. So I would take it if I had an aura.

CODwidow · 30/05/2012 18:40

Mines at 9:20am glad it's early but so so nervous just wishing the time away tbh. I'm hoping with the jubilee weekend and lots planned that it'll fly by (wishful thinking)

Stacks · 30/05/2012 20:01

Had my scan today. All was good, baby measured at 12+3 which is 3 days ahead of my dates. The baby was sleeping and had to be woken up with a vigorous hip wiggle. It did an obvious stretch and turn over to get comfy again. Was wonderful to see it move in such a human way. The first 20 mins or so it stayed perfectly still, which was great for the sonographer but made out seem a bit less real.
