Hugs for Dream

That is all xx

NinjaChipmunk · 02/05/2012 21:02

aw poor dream you sound shattered, how are the twins and dd doing? And how are you? Are you healing well? Is your home help helping?

tock I believe twinges, windy-pops and all manner of weird feelings are totally normal (I was parping left right and centre at the beginning) now my big fat tummy is just going off at different angles every five minutes (especially since I just ate some chocolate).Grin

Oh and the whole 'complete family' bollocks? I have had loads of people coming out with it since we found out it is going to be a dd this time round. Even my boss has come out with it.After taking so long to get pg this time I couldn't have given a flying toss about it being a boy or a girl, I'm just so chuffed to actually be pg! My boss actually said 'you can stop trying now you'll have one of each, we had to have 3 to get there.' Idiotic man!

Oh and dp just sent me a text to say he got to badminton tonight and they've thrown him a baby shower! How sweet is that? I don't think he knows quite how to deal with it, he was totally shocked. Bless him. What a lovely thing for them to do, I've only ever met one of them! Apparently they decked it all out with ribbons and stuff too Grin

Oh ninja how lovely! Must be unusual to do it for a bloke too, your lucky dh. Fill us in on what booty you got :-)

I am very, very tired. The constant bf is hard, and the bf network person who came today helped with both boys latches individually but was totally stumped by my tandem feeding issues and can't think of anything to help- a bit depressing as i can't avoid it completely. I have healed wonderfully though, no pain now at all (its only 4 weeks today since my CS) . I can do all 'illegal' post CS lifting I need to etc. I'm just struggling with feeling weepy and low in the evenings as I'm so tired with no hope of any sleep (well, I get about 3-4 hours broken sleep a night if I'm lucky). But i am lucky, very lucky with three gorgeous healthy children. Whinge over :-)

& musical and Jen it really does go on forever doesn't it?! Being pg I mean

NinjaChipmunk · 02/05/2012 22:15

I'm glad you're sounding happy dream even if it is through a fog of tiredness. Is dd adjusting to it all? I guess this is one of those 'this too shall pass' moments? I can well believe bf two is hard but you are a bloody marvel for what you have put up with (puking, lack of sleep, total uncomfortableness before birth and now the tiredness and constant bf), I take my metaphorical hat off to you lady!

DD has been miles better since her brothers arrived. The super clingyness is gone, she kisses them all the time and she seems happy. We are putting a lot of effort into normal routine though. Done playgroup with all three Mon and tues, she gets loads of 1:1 (though not usually with me,I'm stuck with feeding the DTs, sob) and I try my best to play with her as much as i can in between feeds/nappies/winding/laundry...

I was so worried about how my little, clingy PFB would cope and its miles, miles better than I imagined it could possibly be. Good news brookers, your PFBs might be the same :-)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 03/05/2012 10:35

Dream that's so fab that DD is doting on her little brothers already! :) I hope the boys start sleeping a bit longer so you can get some proper sleep, soon.

I have posted my first rant AIBU Blush

clickingtock · 03/05/2012 12:13

Thanks for reassurances. I would feel quite silly phoning anyone up about it so much better to hear sensible advice from you pros here. Grin I am of course a manic-pants-checker at the moment, but I just have to think back to my last very lovely pg and realise there's no reason why it can't be as good again; I think I'm just a bit rattled that I'm 40 and diffed. Also suitably irritable with everyone in the household so must be getting good strong pg hormones already. Can't believe I know have a tiddlertock on the go - babytock has such a lovely ring to it Smegs, thank you for saying that!!!

Thanks for the synposis Dream - and loving your numbers. My DS was born 21/02/10 and at 10.12am. Grin

Ninja - got lovely images of your tummy with big feet-shaped bumps poking out the sides. SO sweet about a baby shower for your DH. We really are in a reformed world aren't we?!

Fluffy - you are going to be the most stylish preggo ever.

Musical - bell ringing and Tuc crackers - I feel I know you so well already. Grin

jenfraggle · 03/05/2012 13:10

Right, before we go any further, don't read anything into this. I know what some of you are like but I'm just asking for when it does happen

When you get a show, is there likely to be much there? Is it going to be obvious what it is or could I miss it?

Wants3 · 03/05/2012 13:25

Sorry Jen, you would think by baby number 3 I would have some idea but I didn't get a pre- labour show previously! I think it is just pink streaked pant jelly!? I am looking out for any sign, it's a full moon this weekend so maybe the tide will work in our favour:)
I did a lot of nesting this morning and then walked to work with my last few bits of paperwork.
dream you are doing a sterling job.

clickingtock · 03/05/2012 13:25

Ooh Jen. Not far off for you though. For me the show was just a little pinkish CM about a week before birth. Might have missed it tbh. Was expecting much more excitement! But that could be my judgement. I have no idea when my waters broke as I was in a bath or a pool throughout so perhaps a bit of a useless one to ask! Confused

GreenOlives · 03/05/2012 13:47

Jen I thought I'd had my show when my waters started leaking (small amount of pinky CM) However the actual show happened much later and it was a HUGE amount of snotty blood streaked gunk, my knickers just went straight in the bin! And it happened just as the midwife was about to examine me - bleurrgh!

musicalmrs · 03/05/2012 14:16

I've heard that lots of people don't get a show Jen. I've been obsessively knicker checking though - almost as bad as when I was TTC!

Wants, heard about full moon - Sunday, isn't it? Baby is allowed to come on Sunday, so that would be mightily convenient Grin.

I've spent my morning working on my baby blanket (still another 70 ish rows to go - think the baby will be here before it's finished!). Sadly my afternoon will mainly consist of packing, and the evening, painting woodwork in the nursery!

Moving days are tomorrow and Sat, so sorry if I don't post much! Although having said that, I might get some free time on Sat - lots of people coming down to help, so I'm hoping that having done the majority of the packing I'll only have to do teeny tiny bits on moving day! Oddly I'm less worried about the potential of LO arriving when we're supposed to be moving, and more worried about relocating the cats..!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/05/2012 14:22

I never had a show with either of mine Jen Smile

jenfraggle · 03/05/2012 14:28

Another Guider at my Unit had a baby this morning. It was so weird when we announced we were pregnant and were only 6 days apart on due date :o It is her 2nd and both were early, fingers crossed I get an early one too. Been on my ball each day since reaching 37 weeks

ScrambledSmegs · 03/05/2012 14:28

I didn't get a show with DD, Jen, although I was induced. Sort of. While already being in labour Hmm NHS logic, what do I know?!

DreamingOfPeace · 03/05/2012 15:13

I've never had a show either.

My babies did not sleep at the same time last night. Ever. I had nearly one hours sleep while dh walked them around downstairs. Who wants them for a bit of practice??? I am a walking zombie.

Good luck for a smooth move musical

Biscuitsandtea · 03/05/2012 15:20

You poor thing Dream but yay for your DH taking one for the team and letting you get at least some sleep.

Just from a practical angle, how do you walk them both around? I'm intrigued by all all sorts of twin practicalities as I'm doing stuff with ds2 and wondering how Dream does it with two!

ScrambledSmegs · 03/05/2012 15:39

Oh, Dream I hope you get some rest soon. It sucks when they don't sleep, and it must be especially hard with twins and a toddler. Hopefully they'll get more sleep at the same time soon - in the meantime, have you got any family who can take them out for a while so you can catch up on some sleep? Doting grandparents are great for this, I remember!

musicalmrs · 03/05/2012 16:52

Jen, I've been on my ball every day too. I think it helps things along, but I reckon that ultimately the baby will appear whenever it wants - nothing we do will make a huge amount of difference! I spend some time bouncing/rocking/rotating on the ball, and feel the baby drop lower... but then it heads back up as if to say "Nope, not yet!".

Dream, you poor thing :( Hope they sleep better (and simultaneously) tonight.

I'm fed up of packing boxes...

Munx2 · 03/05/2012 18:00

Just popping in.

dream hope tonight a better night.

musical good luck with the move!

I didn't have a show with dd my waters 'popped' and any showy stuff. Amount with that, freaked right out as thought it was blood Blush

20 weeks today, where did that time go?

DreamingOfPeace · 03/05/2012 19:18

Two isn't very practical biscuits, I will try and get a pic of carrying two for you, but I know I can't take it and carry them myself! Will have to think of a white lie for dh as he'd never do it for mn!!!

Dh was off today, my dad took DD to music group dh took babies in buggy. And I couldn't sleep!! Sods law. I've got so tired I can't switch off iykwim. Gah.

Biscuitsandtea · 03/05/2012 19:44

You can't take a picture of yourself AND carry the twins Dream??? Honestly! Not even trying......

Surely you could tell DH that you need to record some of the practical 'dealing with two at a time' things for your records. I'd want a record of me achieving these marvellous feats!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/05/2012 19:46

And gah! for not sleeping! hope your DH didn't say what mine would say in that circumstance - 'oh you must not be that tired then'.......

jenfraggle · 03/05/2012 21:00

Oh Dream you are doing a fabulous job.

pommedechocolat · 03/05/2012 21:15

dream - how frustrating! That would make me cry. I find it hard to drop off at the start of the night if it's between feeds. After feeds it's always easier - I guess a hormone thing.
