Thanks lula. Sorry knobhead not good but after 2mc I agree it's horrible, but deep in my heart I know it's just not meant to be.
Doesn't stop me wanting this one to stay put though....
I have gp 2mrw and hopefully scan next week. My early pregnancy ward as hospital won't do scans until 7 weeks do I've got to wait Sad
Still spotting and some mild cramps, but it could be trapped wind Blush difficult to tell. I am aching all over so not sure if that's good or bad?

Littlemissimpatient · 16/05/2012 23:33

Sorry nobhead but spell check added a k!!
Stupid phones!

Littlemissimpatient · 16/05/2012 23:35

Angel fairy I have been exactly the same.
One minute I have nausea and moan about it, then no symptoms and moan about it. Now spotting....

DontmindifIdo · 17/05/2012 08:07

Nobhead - so sorry to hear that. But you are right, it happens for a reason, that's what I told myself when I lost one earlier, it wasn't the right baby for me.

ibuy - welcome and yay! BTW - I've been terribly disorganised, and haven't actually got round to booking a medical appointment, I was going to call the midwives directly today, but should I go via my GP first? (It's like trying to get an audience with the Pope getting to see her so thought I'd just skip a stage, but I know how the NHS likes to waste everyones time by pointlessly making GPs gatekeepers make sure everyone follows the correct proceedure to access the correct healthcare professional...)

Also, does anyone have to keep reminding themselves they are going to be a great big beach ball soon and stop looking at summery clothes? I keep finding myself wanting to buy capris, tight fitted dresses and pencil skirts that quite frankly I'll get 1 or 2 wears out of and then have to pack away until post baby - and if last time is anything to go by, I'm not going have my shape back by next summer either.... (trying not thinking about the sheer horror of the post birth body.) I think I'm going to have to hide the entire Style and Beauty section....

Pascha · 17/05/2012 08:50

I haven't made an appointment yet either. I rang the surgery yesterday and the receptionist gave me the midwife's mobile number to leave a message and she will arrange to see me at home. I'm only 7 weeks so I'm not rushing yet. Might call her tomorrow.

sharedscitless · 17/05/2012 10:33

Sorry to hear your news nobhead Sad

I called the surgery last Friday to make an appointment. Receptionist said the earliest bookable date was 11th June Shock A whole freaking month! Makes a lie out of their answer machine message that says "If you need to see a doctor we will always see you within two days" Hmm

Given that would put me at almost 11 weeks I thought it might be a bit late.. So anyway, GP called me back and we had a chat. She said she didn't need to see me anyway and to just make an appointment with the midwife. Which I did, for Tuesday just gone.

Tuesday morning she rang me, and asked if she'd met me before as she didn't recognise my name on her list! Apparently the GP should have told me to collect a booking in pack from the surgery (she didn't) and make a 1.5 hour booking in appointment, rather than the 20 minute clinic slot (nuh-uh). Had a lovely long chat with her anyway, and upshot is she's coming here on May 31st, I'll be just 9 weeks. She could have fitted me in before but it would have meant taking time off work and I'm not sure about telling them yet.

Told my big sis on Tuesday too Grin She's excited and kinda stunned - bit like us really! I wasn't going to say anything, wanted to keep it to ourselves for a bit longer, but she's had some horrible horrible news recently and I wanted to cheer her up a bit.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 17/05/2012 11:40

Hi everyone! I got a BFP on Tuesday :). Well actually, I got two BFPs. Just to be sure! I?m 30 years old, and EDD is 19th January (SpringFlowers! We?re EDD buddies!). This will be our first baby so very excited.
As far as symptoms go ? my bladder now seems to be the size of a pea, I?m hungry pretty much constantly, and I feel constantly nauseas. It?s not too bad, though ? no actual vomiting.
I have my first appointment on the 8th of June ? we go direct to the midwife here, which suits me. Don?t think I?ll really believe there?s a baby until somebody else confirms it though!
How are people hiding these early symptoms from people they don?t want to know yet? I work in a very friendly, close-knit team and somebody has already picked up on my constant grazing! I was a bit flustered (and also had a mouth full of cupcake), so just laughed, but I suspect I will need to come up with some good answers soon!
DH announced yesterday that he doesn?t want to know the sex of the baby until it?s born, so I?m sulking about that a bit at the moment :)

Tugstonia · 17/05/2012 13:06

So sorry to hear that nobhead :( Hope you're holding up ok.

Littlemisspatient hope the gp appt goes well today.

Congratulations lettherebecupcakes!

Am still getting twinges, mostly after I eat (and I'm eating A LOT!). Also (sorry TMI) getting more discharge than usual... Anyone else getting that? Have loads of spots on my jawline and especially my neck as well - was kinda hoping my skin would be clear and glowing! And I'm v burpy/gassy. How attractive! Otherwise I'm feeling good!

cogitosum · 17/05/2012 19:20

Tugs you have just described me exactly (down to the gas and discharge lovely!)!
I went to GP last Tuesday and he said midwife/consultant would contact me within a week to arrange appointment (may have consultant led care) I've still not heard anything and it's been a week and a half... still early (only 6 weeks) but very anxious to have appointment.. not sure when to contact them!

Incaminka · 17/05/2012 19:57

My scan isn't till 13 weeks! I asked for an early scan, but didn't get one :-( and my midwife appt is 9 weeks, so I bet she won't use a doppler! :-( I really hate waiting to find out if this baby is ok!!! Only good news, bit of nausea this morning, so good sign. :-) welcome to all the new people!

happyhow · 17/05/2012 21:56

Tugs you've described me exactly too!! Although instead of eating loads, I'm not fussed about eating. Having to force myself. Getting more saliva too and my boobs have started to get more sore today (they were just period-like sore til now).

Went to the dr today just for reassurance more than anything. Got my first appointment booked for 29th May so have spent the evening reading through the massive folder of literature I was given this morning!

AngelFairy · 17/05/2012 23:53

Ok, so I'm awake, eating toast to curb some nighttime nausea Hmm
This is just weird. Eating when I'm feeling sick and not hungry is one thing, but eating at almost midnight whilst my PJs are already feeling tight, weird Blush

Th wind, oh gosh the wind... Whoever raised this one, I hear ya!
Tonight, mine has been v. bad Blush

Anyone else up at this hour? Come play...

Lora1982 · 18/05/2012 05:38

aww Angel.... Im more of a wake up at 5am kind of knackered girl. my god the wind :'(

Fletch1 · 18/05/2012 08:56

My last couple of days have not been good for me :( I've had pretty much constant nausea - not good for someone who has severe emetophobia. I don't remember feeling like this with DD - does that mean I'm going to have a DS??

Just hoping I feel better by 10th June for our wee holiday.

I've been trying to make my 'booking in appointment' since Wednesday. They've changed the system here since last time (Scotland). I have a number to call and bookt he appointment myself. Which would be fine but the line is only open 8.30-12 and it's an answer machine! Tells you if you leave a message they will get back to you in 4 hours - I called on Wednesday at 9.30am and I'm still waiting. Called this morning at 8.35am and left another message to politely aske them to call me back. This is a ridiculous way to run things :( Bloody NHS!

HappyCamel · 18/05/2012 09:37

Fletch, interesting question. I had a dd last time. This time if feels very different, less nausea more tiredness and I've got thrush which apparently is due to the change in pH, which I didn't get last time. I'm betting we're having a boy.

Pascha · 18/05/2012 13:33

Well I just got my call back from the MW, my booking appt is at home on sun 27/5 which puts me at about 8+3or5/40 Smile

Fletch I've had terrible nausea this last week which has only been made worse by eating. Milk helps it quite a lot which makes me think I have an acidy tummy already. Heartburn here I come. No actual sickness though. Last time round I had no nausea til gone 11 weeks and then it stayed til the end. I had a boy.

Everything feels different now. Tired earlier, jeans tight already, nausea already... I know you can't really tell but it feels like a girl this time. Don't know which I prefer. We have a girls name all lined up from last time, but another boy would be more straightforward practically.

pmgkt · 18/05/2012 14:28

i am having one of those days today, Ive been feeling sicky and great sense of smell but my tummy doesnt feel pregnant. i hate this first period of no bump, no movements, and just not knowing. Im paranoid and know there is nothing i can do about it. does that make sense to anyone else?

theboutiquemummy · 18/05/2012 15:06

Oh Nobehead so sorry to hear your news bigs hugs xox

Anyone else suffering from backache i'm not sure if its because I've over done something or is PR symptoms.

We are heading into week 6 but not sure when to ring the Dr to start the appointment process etc, can't ask any fam as we would like to keep this quiet until we are further along then MC.

Fletch1 · 18/05/2012 15:29

pmgkt I completely understand. Other than the nausea I don't feel pregnant at all. I don't think it really sinks in until you have the first scan and see baby for the first time.

Finally got my appointment made with MW. Not until 8th June, so won't get my scan date until after that either. I'm a bit concerned as I'll be 10 + 3 by then so not leaving themselves much time to 'get the paperwork transfered' and make me an appointment for 2 weeks later :(

Was chatting to my colleague today who has 2 girls, she said both her pregnancies were totally different and she got 2 of the same. I have to admit I'm a bit scared of having a boy - I have no idea what to do with them! I'm a very girly girl so having DD was so much easier. I'm sure if it is a boy I'll cope but it's a daunting thought.

SpringFlowers · 18/05/2012 16:04

Oh my...I feel terrible! Is anyone else suffering? I am so exhausted, my eyes are dry and tired, I have no energy to move, I feel sick...urrrgggh. My pervious pregnancies were not like this at 4+6. I have had to come how from work to lie down because standing up was too much of an effort and my computer screen affected my eyes. How is everyone else doing?

Pascha · 18/05/2012 16:08

theboutiquemummy I used to work in a surgery and we were always told to advise contacting the midwife between 6-8 weeks for an appointment at 8-10 weeks. I would give them a call next week and just ask how the receptionist how to make your booking in appointment with the midwife. Each area is different so some surgeries give you an appointment and some ask you to ring a number and the midwife calls you back, as mine did.

They should tell you how to get your maternity pack as well, these are the notes you keep and take to every appointment. My surgery keeps a supply in reception.

I hope this pregnancy isn't entirely different, I had a lovely neat bump all in front last time. That would be nice again.

Pascha · 18/05/2012 16:10

I spent most of yesterday afternoon lying on the sofa feeling poor and sipping milk to stave off the nausea. Didn't work Sad. Today I've just had to get on with stuff and I feel ok. The nausea is background.

SpringFlowers · 18/05/2012 16:33

I'm glad you feel better Pacha, although background nausea is hardly desirable!

DontmindifIdo · 18/05/2012 16:57

I'm not feeling too sick, but a little bit off balance, a bit like very mild travel sickness, but i'm a bit behind some of you so there's still time for it to kick in... I didn't feel too bad when I had DS, although when I was, I found the pickled ginger you get at sushi places to be the best thing for it.

Currently worrying, chicken pox is doing the rounds in this town amongst the toddlers I know, and DS is currently saying he wants bed (! it's normally a sterotypical 2 year old tantrum to get him up to bed) and just vegging on the sofa with DH. Really don't want that worry...

Re appointments, I called the GPs and they want to see me first next week then it's the midwives. Hopefully I can get my scan booked ASAP.

theboutiquemummy · 18/05/2012 18:14

Thanks Pascha going to call the surgery on Monday as for sickness I just get the odd twinge that makes me want to eat but the other times I was violently ill perhaps that was an omen keeping fingers crossed x
