Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ValiumQueen · 21/04/2012 21:35

Just found out a friend in RL lost her baby at 11 weeks - it had died at 6 and the poor scrap did not know. Found out at scan. Sad I feel very greedy as I have two already, and it was her first.

ValiumQueen · 21/04/2012 21:36

So, detective how is it that you have a fat vagina then? Grin

ShellyBobbs · 21/04/2012 21:37

I've got a terrible feeling that my hubby is going to come crashing through the door soon pissed, he went out at 2 this afternoon to watch the local footy team. I'm not bothered, just hope he crashes on the settee and not stinking and snoring in bed (voms).

TheDetective · 21/04/2012 21:41

EW Please do get union advice.

I have lots of issues to take up with mine. Pregnancy brings out the worst in employers. It seems....

I intend to challenge several points in my maternity policy. Just coz it is in the policy - don't make it right! I like a good challenge. Raaaah!

Valium Ummmm, I think I have a fat vagina because I ate too much sausage?? Grin disclaimer: it may just be pressure from my uterarrrrrrse however

Evilwater · 21/04/2012 21:43

Thanks ladies for all your support and what to do.

TheDetective · 21/04/2012 21:48

Where would they even move you to EW? And if they did for yours and babys safety, you have the right to return to your old post.

Evilwater · 21/04/2012 22:09

Who know where I would end up. I think I would have the right to come back to my post. I need to make a few phonecalls on Monday.

TheDetective · 22/04/2012 00:06

EW Definitely - update the thread as well, I want to know what is said coz I am a nosy bastard and hate unfair treatment of anyone.

I feel like singing and dancing right now. Tonight I have stroked the dog. No heaving. Eaten a jar full of pickled onions. Wanted a mint areo - which was bought for me, and I consumed, and enjoyed! And now DP is cooking me two hard boiled eggs. So I can eat the whites. I also had a take away for tea. Only a small bit, but its in, and stayed in!

Hello 2nd trimester, I can see yoooooooou!

Please don't tease me this time baby, I know what you are like

Grin
ShellyBobbs · 22/04/2012 09:41

That's fantastic Detective, food, bring it on Grin

Woke up this morning not completely starving, thats a first!

DonnaDoon · 22/04/2012 09:42

So Detective were you up all night after consuming that mixture ? :)

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 22/04/2012 11:05

So those of you who are starting to feel a bit less sick - how far along exactly are you? I'm 9+4 and need some hope!

Chunkychicken · 22/04/2012 11:42

I'm 9+6 Fruit and have been feeling a bit better at times this week. Hope its not a bad sign!! Confused

misslaughalot · 22/04/2012 11:52

I'm 9+5 and haven't felt sick for a couple of weeks...worry much?!

Stuntnun · 22/04/2012 11:52

FruitSalad I'm 11+3 and I had no nausea at all the last two days but I'm feeling a bit queasy again today. It's definitely nowhere as bad as it was at 9 weeks though. In another news, I've had to use the ol' hair bobble through the button on my jeans trick today. I think I'll be into maternity trousers pretty soon. I've been having to wear my loosest tops for a while but I think that's just boob-growth at this point so I may be able to hold off on the maternity tops for a bit longer.

OP posts:
Thechick · 22/04/2012 11:59

I didn't have ms as bad as you guys, but now i just can't eat meat. I'm 9+5. Boobs are still heavy but not painful. Bought a new bra yesterday from John Lewis and got chatting to a woman who was almost nine months. Started talking about my boobs getting bigger and she seemed a bit disgusted. I need to remember that not all pregnant people are as open as you guys, lol!! I went to the John Lewis on Oxford St to have a bra measurement and they took about 50 minutes to see me because all the 4 fitters went on lunch at the same time. I did complain and they gave me a voucher for a drink and a sincere apology which I do appreciate.

GTbaby · 22/04/2012 12:25

My MS was at its worse at week 6 to 9 has calmed down since then. But not gone yet Sad I'm week 12 now. But have been taken anti sickness meds and am still taking them. So scared to stop Incase it goes back to the vom fest of week 6&7.

GTbaby · 22/04/2012 12:42

Omg I've lost all control of myself. I am in floods of tears at seeing nel mcandrew finish the marathon. Not like I know her! I am not a crying type of person!

Chunkychicken · 22/04/2012 13:19

Almost cried about 5 times yesterday thinking about how my little baby wasn't a baby anymore, as she turned 2. So not a weepy person either!!!

Thechick · 22/04/2012 13:38

I haven't been able to stop eating today. Had breakfast, then brunch, then a snack then lunch. Even ds commented on the amount I was eating. Lol

YellowWellies · 22/04/2012 13:40

I'm snuffling watching the marathon too! I used to be a hard nosed bitch - wah what's happened to me?!!!!! So all of you ladies craving fruit in the supermarket, is anyone else being rubbish like me and not fancying it when you get home? - ignores rotting fruitbowl....

applepieinthesky · 22/04/2012 13:42

I'm 10+4 and I thought my sickness had gone a week ago but it's back again. I feel awful today and haven't eaten anything yet which is probably making me feel worse. I'm going to try and force something down soon. Bizarre as the last week I have been eating loads.

applepieinthesky · 22/04/2012 13:44

I'm out for my birthday meal tonight and don't know how I'm going to face it. I don't want to go but the table's booked and people have been invited.

LittleLolly · 22/04/2012 13:44

EW i think you need to contact occy health on mon and get them to put it in writing to your ward manager. Is your ward manager supportive? Have you had your pregnancy risk assessments yet? If not, contact the person who deals with risk assessment in HR at your Trust. Your colleagues sound delightful if they aren't willing to clean up a bit of wee and poo. I can't stand when people think they are 'above' tasks like basic patient care. I am speaking as a nurse and wouldn't dream of refusing to clean up some urine because I'm registered and you aren't. My advice to you is just to not do it and say very nicely to someone 'would you mind doing that, I'm not allowed' and then go and do something else.

With regards to the staff nurse beng moved, if she can't do chemo it puts a lot of pressure on the other nurses on shift to do all the chemo as each lot of chemo takes 2 staff and a lot of faffing! If you can't clean/handle cytotoxic body fluids, it's not putting much pressure on anyone as its a quick and easy job that anyone can do. So I don't think you need to worry about being moved wards, your situation is different to hers.

Hope you get sorted out... Just remember you and your baby are far more important than some work colleagues being a bit put out :)

LittleLolly · 22/04/2012 13:51

fruit I think my morning sickness is passing now... Just feel nauseous in the morning til I've had breakfast and if I'm very hungry. It was at its worst for me between weeks 7 and 10! I'm 12+3.

Got my scan tomorrow, eek very excited! Hope I join the list of smiley faces :)

I have purchased my first non-underworked bras.. They are extremely unattractive but soooo comfy! The nice lady at M&S told me they will probably only last me 4 sees and I will need to go up another size!! I'm already up 2 sizes! Trying not to think what size I will be when breast feeding.....

LittleLolly · 22/04/2012 13:52

Non-underwired not underworked! The bra is definitely being worked haha!
