Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to DH, happy birthday to yoooooooooooooooooooooou!!!
If it makes you feel any better, I cried when I turned 22 and 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27! but then I cry at lots of things, so its nothing unusual!
I am looking forward to my 30's which is odd. Considering I cried!
You know I said last night, Virgin had fixed my broadband? IT WENT OFF AGAIN!!! I now have yet another engineer coming out tomorrow. I think it is taking the pee now, its been 6 months of intermittent internet! I'm slowly going bonkers with them. They have put me down as an 'escalated repair' or some such thing. I just want to leave them now, and they are refusing!
I also had a letter from my ward manager telling me I had to attend a sickness/absence meeting on 25/4 2.30pm. My scan/booking in is on the same day at 3.45pm, and is a good 30 mins away from work, that is if there is no traffic, and I am able to park straight away.
I have emailed work to tell them of the same, and that they will have to rearrange. I fail to see the need for the face to face appointment - they know what is wrong with me, and that it is pregnancy related. Pregnancy related sickness does not come under the normal sickness/absence policy. So why the need for the meeting - I have both the mat. policy and the sickness policy to refer to. The sickness policy talks about a meeting if you are off for 4 weeks, however the mat. policy says not to follow sickness policy if off sick with pregnancy related conditions.
I don't really want to go, not because I have anything to hide or I am concerned, but purely because it could fall on a 'bad' day, where having a shower, getting dressed and doing the 15 mile drive is impossible. I am having good days, true. I seem to have 2/3 good days, followed by 1/2 bad days. It has improved over the last 8/9 days. Which is why I am hoping to return to work on May 1st, and have told work this.
Also, in the maternity policy, I have noted that it says I do not accrue bank holidays during maternity leave. Going to have to investigate this, as I am sure that this isn't the case. My leave is 27 days plus 8 days, it doesn't state bank holidays. I think this is because it is shift work and you don't automatically have a working day falling on a BH. Must find out more. Work just keep on screwing me over! And there was me thinking that pregnant employees and those on maternity leave where not supposed to suffer detrimental treatment due to it, and have the same rights/contractual benefits, otherwise it would be sex discrimination.
Eeeeh, its fun in the Detective household at the minute!!
