Yay Nervous! Excellent news!

I seem to have a better hold on the vomiting now (yes, its the daily detective vomit count update!) by doing the opposite of all those things you are told to do.

I now don't eat before getting out of bed. And in fact, am generally avoiding eating for as long as possible. Eating little and often? Nope, little, but not often is my answer!

Well, it worked yesterday. And it has worked today. So... yeah.

Odd.

DebussyHead · 13/04/2012 19:18

Has anyone else developed really bad spots? Have them all over my forehead and on my chest. Like a spotty teenager. X

DebussyHead · 13/04/2012 19:31

Sorry about the x there! I read that that was an unmumsnetty thing to do Blush! Just force of habit from writing texts! Promise not to x again. Lol.

ShellyBobbs · 13/04/2012 19:33

Brilliant news Nervous.

Not felt sick at all for the second day on the run yay! Still finding it incredibly hard to sleep and am in work all weekend doing double shifts boo :( Hubby has been off this week as well as the kids so have been able to lie in until later in the morning, that's out of the window after today.

Oh well, scan a week on Wednesday to look forward to.

Cacacaz · 13/04/2012 19:58

Fantastic news nervousGrin

Debussy my skin has been horrendous, I've always had issues with spots anyway but, the spots are much angrier and are appearing faster than I can cope with. I'm not even sure there is anything that will help, I used to have ipl, but it's not recommended in pregnancy.

Detective that must be a relief, your sickness sounds horrendous. Everytime I feel sorry for myself, when nauseous, I remind myself that I'm not suffering anywhere near as much as you. I hope you have a sickness free weekend.

My scan is 2 weeks today, need to ask for time off next week. I just hope I'm not asked why, I'm hoping I can be vague and just say its a hospital appointment.

DesperateHousewife21 · 13/04/2012 20:24

Feel siiiiick :(

Trying to drink tea but I'm not liking it, I used to live off tea and fags

daisychain76 · 13/04/2012 21:09

Thanks to those who replied to my query about telling my 2 DC. I think I will wait until after the scan now as once they are back at school it is a lot easier to hide the retching, etc! Just tried to be organised and do an on-line grocery shop but it is not easy when most foods make me feel sick and the rest I want to order about 10 of, but will probably have completely gone off before they arrive....Think I'II give up and watch TV instead!

Brockle · 13/04/2012 21:16

Congrats nervous it is so lovely seeing your baby on the screen for the first time.

Daisy my DCs are 4 and 6 and want to wait until the scan before I tell them. Just can't imagine trying to explain if anything goes wrong. Pesimistic I know. Its hard though as feel a little bit rubbish most of the time and they have been so patient this holiday.

Trafford Centre was not a good idea. Went with the boys, DH and in laws. Hot, tired and sick most of the time. To top it off littlest took a tumble and has a bump the side of a golf ball. Those stupid marble floors!

Glad the codes were helpful. Cannot wait for my maternity jeans to arrive.

FatimaLovesBread · 13/04/2012 21:17

Can't believe this thread is nearly full already!

Haven't been on for a week but just wanted to say thanks for the well wishes for my scan last friday. It was all fine, little bean was measuring 2 days ahead so all good. Just waiting to find the date of our 12 week scan now.

I'll try catch up on everyone elses posts

TheDetective · 13/04/2012 21:26

I'm another one with terrible skin at the moment.

I have crap skin anyway, but its definitely taken a turn for the worse!

I just realised that I have not eaten ANY protein for a long time. I am living on fruit and carbs mostly. I don't want chicken, eggs, or cheese. Or even quorn. This is where I get my protein from usually. Crap. Must try harder. Except I just caaaaaan't!!

Thechick · 13/04/2012 21:28

daisy I'm in the same boat. I've done a provisional shop which mostly consists of meat. It's so hard when you don't really feel like anything but know you have to provide for your family for the next week. I've been getting dp to do it for the past couple of weeks but he's out. Well at least I have until 11 to do it.

Question for you all, would you go to a low key festival at about 16 weeks preggers. I am 'kind of ish' part of it, well, i look after the twitter, and have been going for about 5 years. It's really lovely and there's going to be some amazing acts this year. We'll be staying at a friends house so if I'm still getting up in the night to use he toilet it will be okay and the food will be done by eat st so it will be proper food. I can't decide. Dp really wants to go.

TheDetective · 13/04/2012 21:29

I've just been getting DP to go to the shop daily, or if I have been up to it, go myself.

I just don't know what I am going to want. So its the only way at the minute!

GsyAutumn · 13/04/2012 21:46

I'd go to a festival at 16 weeks. HOPEFULLY we will all be in the feeling great and ready to conquer the world stage at about 16 weeks. Fingers crossed!

Shopping - meh. Went with DS this week and my card was declined. I spent AGES traipsing round trying to figure out what I fancied/should be buying for the kids....and then my card didn't bloody work! (Forgot I moved my money to my savings account to stop me from spending it irrationally, only then I forgot to move it back for the supermarket.) I need to write everything down I think.

ShellyBobbs · 13/04/2012 21:47

Thechck Definitely go, by 16 weeks you'll be feeling hopefully bright and beautiful, make the most of your final few months of being able to actually go anywhere without having to take half your house with you. It's from around here until the 'massive months' ie after 32 weeks for me where you will bloom and feel fantastic. I was a bit jealous when I read that :)

Had potato gratin tonight for the third time this week (veggie version), very fatty and yummy, I even ate a load of broccoli which is very unlike me.

Tried to see if I could feel my uterus this morning in the bath, unfortunately my hands just sunk into the fat and I really didn't know what I was feeling Blush

Not had the weepy thing yet which I'm glad about and still not had the utter tiredness, but that could all change by monday :)

Night all, hope you all get a good nights sleep.

WestWinger · 13/04/2012 21:51

Fantastic news nervous! Really pleased for you.

DH21 - lucky you having a 'proper' bump buddy!

My skin is beyond awful. I have had an outbreak of psoriasis on my nose and cheeks and it is really getting me down.

I have buckled and have booked a scan for tomorrow morning. No idea when my dating scan will be and I am feeling quite stressed about the appearance / disappearance of symptoms. Have made some savings this month on other stuff, so don't feel too awful about the extra cash.

horseylady · 13/04/2012 22:03

Skin goes in waves! Defo go to the festival! I plan on competing until I no longer can!! Unless it's twins then sadly the big horse will have to go. Right been at work since 7 off to bed now!!

Stuntnun · 13/04/2012 22:11

I find I don't have any appetite but can eat if people give me food and that seems to keep the nausea at bay. Seems weird to eat when feeling sick but it stops that bokey feeling for the next couple of hours. The opposite of you Detective. Unfortunately I'm at my parents' house for Easter and since my mum is West Indian she's been feeding me as much as she can get down my neck! If I didn't look pregnant before Easter then I'm sure I do now Blush. I'm a little worried about weighing myself when I get home.

TheDetective · 13/04/2012 22:18

Stunt At the start eating to keep the nausea at bay worked a treat. Now, it seems to have shifted the other way.

I can't keep up with it!

I haven't cooked in weeks, DS and DP bring me my food and drinks. Good job DP is on reduced hours next week, or I would be a sorry state once DS is back to school!

WaitingForMe · 13/04/2012 22:28

The dizziness and clumsiness saw me fall down the stairs tonight and I'm in agony Sad

I've had a pain like a pulled muscle behind my left shoulder all day and now it's excruciating. Common sense says falling down the stairs made it worse but I can't help wondering ectopic.

Now I'm imagining stomach pains and keep knicker checking. Hopefully a good nights sleep will stop me being a crazy drama queen.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 13/04/2012 23:33

I have just found a lump in my breast. Is it likely just hormonal changes??

blonderthanred · 13/04/2012 23:51

Izzy and Waiting, I would get each ailment checked out. Probably a blocked milk duct/ shoulder strain but always better to be aware.

ShellyBobbs · 14/04/2012 06:44

Izzy and Waiting As Blonde said, but always better to be checked out.

Well just off to work now after a WHOLE night of not sleeping one wink, feel absolutely dreadful and just want to crawl in the bath and back into bed, won't finish now until 10pm tonight :(

Stuntnun · 14/04/2012 07:29

I'm about to set up a new thread for us, I hope I get it right Confused

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/04/2012 07:42

Don't forget to link it on here stuntnun!

Feel sick as soon as I get up now :( I don't feel like eating any food the thought of it all makes me feel sick. I only have one tea in the morning now because I've massively gone off that.
Can't wait to start feeling normal again.
