Morning everyone,

Good luck to everyone who has scans. Hope everything is positive for you. I feel truly dreadful. Yesterday felt human to start with and then got a migraine. Am off to Dr today and am taking a urine sample as I think I have a UTI. Did a sample this morning and my wee looked like cloudy juice (sorry for tmi) which I don't think is good. Have drank a pint of water but find it hard to drink and it makes me feel sick and gives me bad indigestion. Moan, moan, moan.....
I am def wishing time away with this pig. Worst of the lot so far and struggling. My poor dc's are v neglected!

Hope everyone else is feeling okay. Only 7 months to go ;0)

NervousAt20 · 10/04/2012 11:17

desperate I love apples at the min, last week I was all about the junk until my skin went really bad but luckily I want apples this week have been snacking on them throughout the day

I bit the bullet and booked an early reassurance scan today and they had an appointment for tomorrow evening but I need morning so roll on Friday! Lady on the phone sounded lovely and friendly so fingers crossed for Friday, oh when I got off the phone I realised Friday will be the 13th !!

Victorious03 · 10/04/2012 11:19

Hello,

Just wanted to pop in and say Good Luck to the ladies with scans today!!! I will be keeping a look out for your updates.

Pink Apples I have mine tomorrow too and am very excited.

I just wish my nausea would disappear, its been with me now everyday and night for two weeks. And I seem to feel much worse when I'm in the car, so I have been trying to avoid car journeys but this is going to be impossible come tomorrow.

Anyone else with car issues??

Clarella · 10/04/2012 11:38

Hi there, after some more calculating I think I could be anywhere between 25 th Nov to 1st dec so I'm sort of hovering between this and a Dec one if that's ok?! I seem to have more in common symptom wise with the Dec lot but the queasiness hoiked up a notch today!

Car journey from stirling to Newcastle yesterday was ropey, had to eat hula hoops most of way!

Ryvita n marmite seems favoured and very strong marmalade :) I usually live off /crave almonds, pumpkin seeds, prunes and dried apricot when not pregnant but not craving them at all annoyingly!

pinkapples · 10/04/2012 13:23

Woohoo for tomorrows scans victorious Grin and the car trouble it seems £300 for a pipe that has broken Sad no car now for 3 days while they order it in and fix it it's lucky dh lost his job I suppose now we can take his car to hospital tomorrow

Awaiting in the scan updates!

applepieinthesky · 10/04/2012 13:26

I have also been snacking on apples despite not eating one for years until a few weeks ago! Tins of fruit cocktail as well.

Good luck to everyone with scans today and tomorrow. I really hope you all get some positive news. That's enough of the gloom on this thread.

Depending on how they date me I'm either 8 or 9 weeks this week. I have my booking appointment on friday so I feel like things are moving forwards now. Edging closer and closer to the magical 12 weeks.

I have heard of people I know having dating scans as early as 10-11 weeks on the NHS so I'm hoping I'm only 2-3 weeks away then I can start telling the world. Can't wait Smile

pinkapples · 10/04/2012 13:32

When are people getting their booking appointments? I'm 8 weeks on Friday which according to all the books will be going into the 9th week I so hope everything is ok tomorrow

NervousAt20 · 10/04/2012 13:49

I got my booking in appt a week after my pregnancy was confirmed by the doctor an then MW dated me at 7 weeks on the day of my appointment and that was almost 2 weeks ago

YellowWellies · 10/04/2012 13:52

Good luck for the scans ladies. I'm booked in for a reassurance one on Wednesday next week (NHS scan because DH missed the last one and the MW thought it was unfair he'd not gotten to see the heartbeat, how nice quiet is NHS Orkney?!) I think I'm getting my booking in appointment then (so 8-9 weeks). Then hopefully will fit in the dating scan before we go on holiday at the start of May - am so looking forward to some sunshine, just hope I'm still not feeling this shattered!

applepieinthesky · 10/04/2012 14:16

I called the doctor's surgery a few days after my bfp.
Booking appointment is for friday when I will be 8-9 weeks. They said they don't see anyone before 8-10 weeks.

pinkapples · 10/04/2012 14:21

If everything is fine tomorrow I might give them a call next week hmmm can't wait to get tomorrow out of the way then at least I will know either way

Thechick · 10/04/2012 14:38

Hey all. Scan went really well, saw a strong heartbeat so very happy. They dated me as 7+5 wks and I thought I might be one day out on my dates but it looks like its 2. So I can relax for now, yay. There was a letter about my booking in appointment when I got home. It's in 3 weeks at midday, so will have to talk to my boss about working from home. But it also seems a bit late, ill be 11 weeks.

Thechick · 10/04/2012 14:40

Thank you all for your crossed fingers. Really appreciate it.

pinkapples · 10/04/2012 14:47

Woohoo let's hope that good luck spreads! I should be 7+5 tomorrow fingers crossed Grin

We'll see

Elizadoesdolittle · 10/04/2012 14:49

Yay chick that's fab news. My booking in appointment is when I'm 12 wks and actually the afternoon of my dating scan. I remember from my dd my 12 wk scan was a day after my booking appointment so I wouldn't worry. It's more important that they get the timing of the scan right rather than the booking in appointment as far as I'm concerned.

Brockle · 10/04/2012 14:56

Great news chick Smile I have my booking appt on thursday. Saw MW for an early bird session and she said that they have to book booking appts earlier then 11 plus 6 in order not to lose NHS funding. I will be 8 plus 6 on my calculation but 12 plus 5 for me scan. Ages away!

WestWinger · 10/04/2012 14:58

Yay thechick! Very pleased for you.

I had my booking in appt today (I'm 10+1) and will only find out my scan date once she sends the forms off to the hospital. I had a very fast labour first time and she is suggesting a home birth as an option this time. Any advice from either those of you that have had / know of home births or any of you ladies who are midwives and can throw some light on the matter that way would be greatly appreciated.

Symptoms keep coming and going. I hate feeling sick but at least I then worry less that something is wrong. I am never happy!!

Can't wait to hear from the others how they got on.

ValiumQueen · 10/04/2012 15:05

Booking yesterday at 10 weeks. no date for scan yet. Booking is just history taking, and can help with dating, but most of us know how far along we are anyway. My mum (age 69) said that in her day, the doctor would not see you untill you had missed three periods, and in my grans day (ie 80 years ago) she did not even know she was having more than one...... until three popped out!

ValiumQueen · 10/04/2012 15:21

I was offered a home birth - yeah right... first birth not fantastic, second was an ELCS, I will be 43 by the time I deliver, and I am not exactly skinny. She then said a water birth.... I was all excited about that with my first, only to be told I was too fat when I got to the ward. My last baby was 10lb 3, so I will be having another section thank you very much.

I think DD2 may have the start of chickenpox as all her nursery pals have it.

horseylady · 10/04/2012 15:27

Brilliant news chick!!! My booking appointment was at 8 weeks so three weeks ago Thursday. My scan a week Thursday!!! I should be about 12 weeks then (think I'll be 11+4 or 5 actually) but well see!! Good luck tomorrow!! Also when I get hungry and need to snack I use fruit or dried fruit. Or the last couple of days humous!!

pipsicles · 10/04/2012 15:30

I'm off to join Foof, ladies :(

ValiumQueen · 10/04/2012 15:31

Oh pip so very very sorry Sad Thanks

Thechick · 10/04/2012 15:31

Thanks all, woohoo

valium, I've been thinking about kind of birth I want too and I really can't make up my mind. I had a emcs with ds 13 years ago and it was horrible. It took so long to recover and it was so painful and my stiches got infected and I really haven't got the energy to go through that again, but a vbac scares me too, the unknown part of it.

Thechick · 10/04/2012 15:36

Oh, pip, I'm really sorry. I really thought we were done with the bad news. Xx

ValiumQueen · 10/04/2012 15:38

thechick ELCS - fabulously calm, healing, home sooner, milk in quicker, less pain, and lots of fussing!

This is a huge thread, and we will have a lot of losses because of this. We will also have lots of bundles of joy in november, so those who are anxiously awaiting news and scans, please do not be downhearted. Much love to pip and her DH and DS x
