pinkapples · 08/04/2012 18:53

Well had a good day today spotting is minimal although one time brown then pink then red then brown again so who knows what's going on up in there... I have pcos and do not have periods (managed to get pregnant on a cycle of ovulation induction) so sods law if it sticks I'll be one of those that spots all the way through just so my body can get back at me for 23 years without it... Think if it does stick I'll call it spud GrinGrin

YellowWellies · 08/04/2012 19:03

That would be such a cruel irony! The only time you get periods is when you're knocked up!!!! Spud is very good :D

pipsicles · 08/04/2012 19:19

I like spud too! We have called ours Poppy, or Poppet for the time being, but I might change it when we see it on Tuesday, assuming that it's still there... Spotting seems to have eased loads over the last 24hrs and I have felt (and looked!) very pregnant today. I know it doesn't mean everything, but I have found it reassuring. Fingers crossed for Tuesday! It just sucks that my serious concerns have coincided with Easter bank holiday weekend and I've had to wait three days for an emergency scan, which I'd normally have got one the next day! Never mind - patience is a virtue so they say!

Thanks also to whoever it was (sorry for forgetting!) who said about the jelly cm - it had never even crossed my mind hat it might be fairly normal! As Yellow said, every thing is different for everyone, so I mustn't think that Foof's experience means I will have the same. I did read her m/c thread and it was very sad. I read it more out of self preparation than anything else - I feel happier knowing what to expect now if I do have one, but am obviously crossing everything that my little Poppy is still there!

We are going out with some of our 'up north' friends tonight - not that I'm sure how long I'll last - I'm knackered! We had been planning on sharing our news, but I'm reluctant to at the moment, but then I know that I look so pg and will be on soft drinks all night, so it might be difficult not to. Might just have to tell the, the truth...?

Off to play hairdressers - DH desperately wants his hair cutting before we see is friends tonight!

pipsicles · 08/04/2012 19:19

Ooh - congratulations and welcome to the newbies - I share a due date with one of you - 7th November.

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/04/2012 19:42

thechick I def don't think this 'bump' is going to go away, I'll grow into it!

Had yummy roast pork round fils house, dh is putting ds to bed now and I'm going to eat choc all eve, happy Easter!

pinkapples · 08/04/2012 19:53

Like you pip I did read it but only to prepare myself I do hope it doesn't come to that for u 2 tho... You do get very attached Sad would be sad for it to be taken away my first ever pregnancy and it all ends tits up! Well here's hoping it doesn't come to that Grin

I like poppet but I say that quite a bit in everyday chat so I don't think it will help
Me were sticking with spud I think although may have to come up with a girly alternative just in case fingers crossed Grin

GsyAutumn · 08/04/2012 20:01

Is anyone else feeling like they have been pregnant forever already, and that November seems a MILLION light years away? I was soooo much more relaxed with my first two, and now, maybe cos I am a bit older (DD is 6), I am worrying about everything, and that seems to make each day last a good 8 hours longer than usual

ValiumQueen · 08/04/2012 20:04

My niece was stumpy, and 22 years on she is a gorgeous blonde and still stumpy!

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/04/2012 20:21

gsy yesssss! Also everyone else's pregnancies I.e friends/ family who are a couple of months ahead seem to be whizzing by! It prob doesn't feel like it for them but my SIL announced she was 5 weeks preg in jan and now suddenly shes recently found out she's having a boy, that flashed by in about a week!

Stuntnun · 08/04/2012 21:37

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I've been so wrapped up in the whole being pregnant thing that it seems weird to find out that life goes on and I am now 36Angry. DH got me a new phone for my birthday cos my old one was getting a bit erratic. I think he was a bit taken aback when he said, don't you want to play with your new toy, and the first thing I did was to install the Mumsnet app!

Naturally enough the nausea kicked in full force just before lunch but I managed to choke down some roast lamb and birthday cake. Not at the same time naturally, that would be a weird pregnancy craving. With DS1 I craved Worcester sauce crisps and when I ate them he would start kicking. I wonder what this bean will demand. So far it seems to be sausages (in fact I'm now completely obsessed with sausages) and fruit/fruit juice. Where does that put this bean in the meat=boy fruit=girl debate?!

I'm 9+3 now and starting to get hopeful that this bean will be sticky, I can't wait for my next scan in nine days. I feel for everyone that's going through worries/MC as it's such a tough time and I know really don't want to go through that again. Roll on the second trimester when the sickness stops and the secret's out of the bag!

TheDetective · 09/04/2012 01:40

Crawling in to check in.... its going to be a long long night in the Detective household.

Was feeling exhausted this morning, so DP let me sleep. Which my goodness I did. Til 1frickin'pm!! Shock

Had a bath at 6pm for a relax as was feeling a bit dodgy. Got out the bath, and thank god DP had chosen that moment to come in, because I came over all faint, and was panting like a goodun' and wobbling all over the place. While trying to stop myself fainting, all the contents of my stomach chose that moment to return. Thank you baby!!!

It wasn't a pretty picture let me tell you! I collapsed in bed after that, where I stayed until my rumbling belly woke me up at midnight (again, thanks baby!). And bless him, DP made me my tea Grin.

I think I have had far too much sleep today, and how on earth am I going to go back to bed in a minute?!

This pregnancy thing is no fun :( 9+6 today. Come on 12 weeks please!

Stuntnun · 09/04/2012 07:55

I hope you're feeling a bit better today Detective. Will everything settle down for you around 12 weeks?

horseylady · 09/04/2012 10:09

I had a horrid dream last the baby had dies :( I'm now desalt worried :( no spotting or cramps but my symptoms are easing (10weeks). What if it's mmc?? My scan is a week Thursday....

pinkapples · 09/04/2012 10:16

Oh no horseylady Sad I've bin thinking that for ages got my scan on Wednesday so think I'll enjoy the thread while I can as I might not be stopping long Sad

Not really feeling any symptoms a bit crampy and feeling slightly sick but not much to write home about almost certain bubba is gone but from what I can gather it hasn't come out so maybe mmc?? SadSad

Walked the dogs this morning with dh in the woods near our house now there both chewing on lamb bones as a treat from yesterday Grin

horseylady · 09/04/2012 10:33

((((hugs))))) apples. Just horrid isn't it? Fingers crossed were both ok!!But apart from feeling sick from 9:45pm that's about it?! I'm not putting on weight or anything!

pinkapples · 09/04/2012 10:55

Yup it's rubbish

Fingers crossed for us... I'm looking a pig pudgy but I think that's the stress not baby Smile

horseylady · 09/04/2012 11:00

Lol I lose weight when stressed!! Good news is I've lost the half stone I'd wanted to lose before I got pregnant! I just assumed I'd be putting something on?! Anyway trying to think if it has died there's a reason x

alicat10 · 09/04/2012 11:38

Bluetinkerbell I am so happy to hear your news - 10th March is my birthday Grin will be thinking if you over the coming months x

pipsicles · 09/04/2012 12:36

Pink and Horsey, I am beginning to feel a bit better and think that I may have been responding to hormones more than anything when I panicked this weekend Blush I was doing some research this morning though (on pins and needles actually - anyone else suffering?) and came across this link on bleeding, spotting and cramps, which I wanted to share with you all. I found it really useful and it has loads of links to other things too.

Hope you're all enjoying your last day of the bank holiday weekend. I'm enjoying that DS has been taken for a walk by his grandad and great great auntie! Bliss! I should go and get dressed before they get back though!

pinkapples · 09/04/2012 14:01

Thanks for the link pip although I'm no sure that stopped me panicking am now worried about mmc but only 1 more day to go before my scan Grin just want to get it over with

daisychain76 · 09/04/2012 15:08

Hi glendathegoodwitch and clarella and other newbies I missed! I think what this thread is showing is how blinkin' hard the first 12 weeks are - if you don't have symptoms you worry, if you do you worry, if they change you worry! Spent yesterday panicking I was feeling (and being) sooo sick this couldn't possibly be right, but wearing the seasick bands today and have actually managed to keep down soup and a fab lolly (I am lolly obsessed atm). Hoping this keeps up til tea so I can eat the chocolate nest cakes persuaded DH to make with the DCs (And put melted Mars Bar in - yum!)

TheDetective · 09/04/2012 18:46

Another rubbish day in the Detective household. It is a reoccuring theme at the minute!

Still, now I have injected, at least I can eat and not worry about it coming back! Just got the intense drowziness and nausea to battle with!

I was eating my craving of pears (tinned, the damn real thing won't ripen quick enough!) earlier, while drinking my pear and apple squash, when I vomited it all back up. After recovering from the vomit, I went back to my bowl of pears, washed down with pears haha. Oh dear, I think I got it bad! Grin

Normally once vomited, I won't eat the same thing again, hence my choices becoming rapidly smaller.

Seems baby likes pear!

Pinkapples nom nom fingers crossed for tomorrow! I refuse to have any more bad news on this thread! x

Evilwater · 09/04/2012 19:00

The detective I hope you feel better soon. I so far my sickness has passed but I feel yuk at breakfast.
At the moment I feel very tired, and can only eat small meals.

I'm off to work, for three nights and then a day shift on Friday. I really hate mixed days and nights.

At least I get to pick up my new car on Friday.

eversomuch · 09/04/2012 19:15

Just dropping in quickly to say hello and I hope everyone's who's been feeling really poorly starts to feel better soon. I'm now 9+4 and very exhausted and very nauseated much of the time, but managing to eat and keeping everything down, so I really can't complain. It does feel like I've been pg forever, though, I absolutely agree gsy. I'm due seven MONTHS from yesterday and that sounds like eons. I hope once the general first trimester ickiness passes, I'll enjoy this pg as much as I did my first one.

Really sorry to see that there have been losses, and I wish those lovely ladies all the best in recovering and finding success the next time around.

My 12-week scan is two weeks from tomorrow. I'm 39, so have been trying not to get too excited until after that and we know for sure that everything looks ok. Crossing my fingers for everyone who's got scans coming up.

We've almost made it through the first trimester, so it can only get better from here, right?

pinkapples · 09/04/2012 19:30

Thanks detective but my scans Wednesday (wish it was tomorrow though) someone does have a scan tomorrow tho I'm sure this thread has so many of us I forget Blush

Feeling alright in myself had some dinner now feeling sick a bit been reading my day to day pregnancy book which is really interesting I just hope I make it to the end Hmm

Spotting has stopped today apart from one wipe this morning but not thinking bout that so who knows I'm sure it'll b back to darken my day tomorrow at least I have one more day to enjoy the possibility
