Hello to the newbies !

I just hope these babies hurry up and behave themselves soon. Pregnancy really is such a worrying time! I never worried like this first time though, I remember being very chilled despite the hyperemesis!

Well, I've just been up to 'the babies room' Shock to find that the drawer we have been using to store the bits and bobs we have picked up is no longer adequate Blush.

Looks like we need to get the room a little more sorted, move the few things out what are in there for storage, and find somewhere else to do my laundry!

I really need to stop buying things now. Enough for a few more weeks!

I guess with DS I never got to plan and organise a nursery until much later on in my pregnancy, and it was all done on such a tight budget. I just want to indulge myself this time!

I've just bought a book called Babies in Waiting, which is about three pregnant women meeting on an online forum and forging friendships etc! Going to start on it now.. as soon as I get off this damn computer!

Oh, I meant to add that on the sickness front, I've kept everything down without injections today and yesterday, but had lots of nausea to keep me company! I can't wait for 12 weeks just so I know if its going to be a repeat of DS's pregnancy, or it will stop then pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. I'm definitely craving fruit. I have had overwhelming cravings for pears. I hadn't eaten a pear in 12 years at least. Until last week Grin I am also craving peaches. Can't get those yet. Damn it! Lovely juicy fruit nom nom nom... I have never ever been like this in my life. I normally love veg, not fruit, fruit is boring! Oh, and squash, love it. Fizzy drinks are normally my forte, but not now. I'm drinking my way through apple and pear squash like there is no tomorrow. Unfortunately my cat is also drinking her way through it at some speed also. Strange bugger. I caught her 3 times in middle of last night with her head in my glass by the bed. GRRRR!

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/04/2012 07:34

Morning all,

I'm on day 3 of constipation, I can't remember the last time I went and (tmi) I can feel its all backing up and causing pain all over my left side :(
Still feel sick although havent been sick (yet!)

What's everyone's plans for Easter sun? we're off to FILs house this aft.

pinkapples · 08/04/2012 08:07

I'm still spotting nebbo sorry if tmi what it like?

I'm off to my mums for Easter lunch today with hubby then plan for a long walk tomorrow at lacock abbey with the dogs...

I've bought some unisex baby grows but nothing else I'm quite good at restraining myself but buying as and when seems like a good idea to minimise spending if dh doesn't get another job and little bean dies stick were going to need all the money we can get Grin

Think if it does stick I need a name other than bean....??

Tiago · 08/04/2012 09:24

So, a quick trawl of charity shops in our area revealed that I can dress my baby in designer gear for 99p a time...

ValiumQueen · 08/04/2012 09:35

tiago both my girls have always has second hand stuff. I love next but will not pay their prices. Indeed most baby kit is second hand - bought new mattress for each, and they get new underwear and pjs but that is about it.

pink sorry you are still spotting.

nebbo hope you had a good night x

NervousAt20 · 08/04/2012 09:37

Happy Easter everyone [bugrin] I'm only excited cause there's so much Choc in the house lol been trying to minimize what I buy because ifteres no Choc there I'll eat an apple instead.

Going to spend the day with my mum and cook a nice roast for when partner gets home from work :)

detective I'm jelous would love to buy things now but going to wait abit longer, then after 12 week scan if all okay might call for a trip to the shops after [busmile]

nebbo hope your okay and I'm sure everything will be fine, i found it impossible to not get attached too x x

nebbo · 08/04/2012 09:46

Thanks girls, hubby has been great as usual. I'm so lucky with him. It was a bit more than Thursday night probably about 3 tablespoons worth over yesterday afternoon/evening. No real pain which I'm trying to see as positive. My friend the other night said similar happened to her so we'll just have to wait and see. It's out of all our hands really so am just going to have to try and relax and hope for the best. Emotions have calmed down a bit today and chocolate for breakfast is def helping x

ValiumQueen · 08/04/2012 09:47

Not a single chocolate egg in the Valium Palace. Easter is all about suffering in my family tradition - never been given an egg! I have never bought eggs for the girls either, but I do buy them a gift. DD1 has a snow white barbie doll, and DD2 has a duck pillow pet. Both wants the other ones gift, so squabbles and tears. They have gifts from my parents too, and eggs from my heathen inlaws Grin

pinkapples · 08/04/2012 10:11

Nebbo definitely choc eggs for breakfast helps and a bit of bgt now hubbys home Grin

Just relax and try not to think abou it although I feel I should take some
Of my own advice as its all I can think off Sad

Stuntnun · 08/04/2012 10:30

Well I'm having a good day today - hardly any nausea so I managed to eat almost all my scrambled eggs and drink half a cup of tea. Apologies if that's tmi for the queasy folks but I've been having so much sickness lately that I need to eat when I can. I'm not sure I can face the Easter egg my mum got for me Envy.

It's my birthday today Grin so I'll have to update the stats when I can prise the laptop out of DS1's grubby chocolately fingers! I have been ridiculously excited about having my birthday on Easter Sunday but now it's here I'm less than enthusiastic about the easter egg Sad. At least my cake isn't chocolate Smile. I have received a lot of music so I'll be able to fill up my iPod. Special thanks to nutellaontoast for the Michael Jackson CD. I can't believe I got to 36 without owning Thriller!

nutellaontoast · 08/04/2012 10:36

Alright Stunters, Happy Birthday!!!

I expect you to know the whole dance to Thriller by the time I see you next.

Your card will arrive.... sometime. Moonpig didn't check it out properly. I may have been a bit brainless also. Not like me at all...

NervousAt20 · 08/04/2012 10:38

Happy Birthday Stuntnun

Thechick · 08/04/2012 11:06

Morning all and happy easter.
Happy birthday stuntnun. There are so many birthdays around this time. It's my ds birthday tomorrow. 13, cannot believe it!! I'm off sweet things so no chocolate for me. Boo!!

pinkapples · 08/04/2012 11:13

Happy birthday stuntnun enjoy your cake GrinGrin

shanelle5 · 08/04/2012 13:55

Happy Easter everyone, busy trying to contain my sickness whilst cooking a large roast dinner for my lot. Just about managed to get the lamb in the oven without upchucking, skillfully done by holding my breath incase I smelt anything, and also looking away from the meat at the same time iyswim!
It seemed like a good idea at the time to make up for being generally a moody, tearful old bag over the last few weeks days.
The kitchen (especially the fridge) is not my friend!

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/04/2012 14:46

Happy birthday stuntnun :) have a good day.

Am at FILs now but feeling v full and a bit sick. I seriously look about 5 months gone, please say I'm not the only one!

Little9 · 08/04/2012 16:16

Happy birthday stuntnun. Hope you've had a good day.

Welcome newbies.

One of my dogs got a second at our agility show on Friday, bless him. The pup also got his first clear round, however his stupid handler (i.e. me) knocked a pole off with her foot!! Great dog, shame about the handler!!!

Fingers crossed all is ok for you nebbo.

Going off tea a bit myself but have been drinking decaf. Have also gone off sweet things, especially chocolate which is devastating.

DH - don't think I'm hiding it so well either. Went round to in-laws today and MIL asked if I'd put on weight with a knowing look whilst prodding my stomach gently. We weren't going to tell her til after 12 week scan cos she is a bit of a worrier. I'm now (hopefully) 10+2!

Went out for the first time in months last night for a friends 40th, and two friends guessed when they saw me drinking orange & lemonade - was trying to pretend it was vodka and orange. Would normally have a glass of cider in my hand so was never going to get away with it completely!!

Thechick · 08/04/2012 16:22

desperate I'm really bloated too. Im sure I didn't have this with my first. Does this go away or do you grow ino it??

horseylady · 08/04/2012 16:32

I've had a good day today!!! Taken my pony out and a lovely time with her feeling quite good!! Off to mums soon for tea after finishing my horses off! Oh and my big horse has been selected to do a team ride with me!! I was thinking of selling her :)

Bluetinkerbell · 08/04/2012 16:34

shanelle same here with the kitchen and the fridge! opened the kitchen door this morning to let the cat in and had to throw up, which was horrible as I hadn't eaten anything yet... stomach acid is awful...

I managed cooking a roast this afternoon and kept everything down so far Fx it stays where it should stay...

happy birthday stuntnun

where can I find the stats?

glendathegoodwitch · 08/04/2012 16:42

Hiya ladies

Been so busy with college and uni applications I've not had chance to join the gang!! After a mc last may I got stuck into college and gave up trying, then just when life couldn't get any more hectic with uni interviews etc.. I find out I'm pregnant!!!! Woooo am due 7th nov (fingers x'd) and the same week I find out I have got a place at uni to become a midwife!!!! Wooooo!!! So it's all happening lol - uni have been fab and are letting me start in March 13.

Nice meeting you all :-)

misslaughalot · 08/04/2012 17:46

Hi ladies, just wanted to wish you all a happy Easter! I'm off on a canal boat holiday for a few days tomorrow, looking forward to relaxing and lots of reading, although I know it's going to take me days to catch up with this thread once I return!

Hope everyone has a stress free, ms free, relaxing week too x

Victorious03 · 08/04/2012 18:12

Hey ladies.
Haven't posted for a week or so...this nausea is driving me insane and I agree that the fridge is most definitely the enemy Envy!!
We have decided to pay for an early scan next wednesday. I'll be 8+5 (hopefully) Any idea what I should see, is it likely we will hear a heartbeat? I can't wait Grin

Hope you are all having a great Easter.

Clarella · 08/04/2012 18:23

Hi all,

So sorry to read the heatbreaking posts on here, I hope everyone is ok.

May a join you please? - a little nervous (and clueless) as my first at 35 and had some confusion at docs over what to do about my underactive thyroid (sorted and well managed) - over eagerness to get in the system to up meds resulted in inconclusive doc test, then they actually mislabelled the next test, finally confirming 10 days after I had bfps - it was a bit fraught! I also needed to know to tell wk as I teach very challenging sen children - lucky its Easter now, phew!

On to the next worry! I think I'm 6 + 4, I haven't particularly felt at all sick but definately was off food until a few days ago, mega tiredness hit at the end of term and last wkend to around weds but since then its as if symptoms are not as strong. Still don't fancy 70% Choc which I loooooove, but the joint pain I was having is easing and my energy is creeping up. Maybe the extra thyroxine kicking in? Worried generally - so many I know have had m/c including my wee sis who had one at 10wks but baby had die 6.

I'v,e had barely any ewmc (is that right?!) and no spotting so I guess a good sign?

Anyone else either had few symptoms or symptoms easing?

Possibly due 25th Nov

Xxxxxxxx

YellowWellies · 08/04/2012 18:34

Happy Easter ladies! I hope everyone has had a lovely day. Happy Birthday Stuntnun. Am feeling a bit gippy now, and (horrors) my cravings have shifted from unhealthy junk to salad and fruit. Might be the fact that I've eaten far too much chocolate over the last few weeks.... (including a couple of sneaky half price Easter eggs from co-op well before Easter). Am also totally off tea now - can only stomach peppermint tea. Which is shit with biscuits lets be fair.

DH is being amazing, got him the Expectant Dad's Survival Guide and he's been reading it with the serious concentration of the scientist he is. He's going a bit OTT and informed me of lots of things I shouldn't do (handle raw meat and cleaning products) so he's deep cleaned the house today and is doing most of the cooking next week! Am not sure how long this is going to last - but am making the most of it! He's fecking brilliant Grin.

In terms of buying stuff am going to relent and buy some sleep bras - I'm waking up every morning with the feeling that my chest has been beaten by / been transformed into spikey concrete. So Mothercare online it is... given that there appears to be nowhere to buy maternity gear on the island.

Am now panicking that I'm not sure I want to be raising babies here as I worry I'm going to be so far from family and civilisation... and decent weather... wah... Hormonal much?!!!!

Lots of love to Nebbo, Pink and everyone else worrying and spotting (sorry my brain has gone I know there are more apologies for forgetting names) don't think the worst because of what happened to poor Foof we're all different, our 'parasites' are different (must think of a more politically correct nickname as DH hates me calling it that Grin) and our symptoms will be different. Positive thinking. There is no point worrying about something that we can't change.

Detective my cat drinks out of my bedside glass too, little sod. He's also realised that my middle of the night loo trips are excellent occasions on which to ask for more food by tripping me up in the dark.... grrrrrr. Oh and I want wine.... and a fag and more wine..... [buconfused] and DH had a sneaky ciggy yesterday so am proper grumpy with him - he has ONE thing to give up!!!
