I'm no good* with needles.

Really should of previewed before posting

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/04/2012 07:45

Feel sick again this morning and have dull aches.

Have a busy day today, taking ds to play gym this morning then shopping then making choc rice crispie cakes!

Hope everyone has a good, ms-free day :)

NervousAt20 · 04/04/2012 07:49

Hmm the cakes sound good Grin

WaitingForMe · 04/04/2012 08:04

I can't believe how quickly three weeks have home by. It's my booking in appointment today. I only had a single sheet to fill in so I assume I'll be doing the rest at the appointment.

Hopefully the five weeks or so until I have the daring scan (I'm 7+2) will go equally quickly.

My pregnancy day by day book had a pretty clear picture of what the baby looked like yesterday. I felt a bit better knowing it kinda has eyes and has little stumps that are growing into limbs. Still feel terrible but I want a better nickname than parasite. Not really baby's fault I'm so poorly.

nebbo · 04/04/2012 08:11

Glad that bleeding stopped pips, it's horrible how worrying all of this is!!

Have a good holiday Essex.

Your shopping list cracked me up yesterday detective. I did similar last week. I have just got random things in my fridge and freezer, like a steak I was desperate for at the supermarket and couldn't face when I got home.

What I had gone to buy was washing powder as my current brand smell is turning my stomach so badly I can hardly put of fresh clothes!! Is that wierd?

Also you lot can answer this. Has anyone else gone off tea? I used to drink about 6 cups a day, am known as the tea lady but havent been able to touch a drop for about 3-4 weeks? What have these kids got against tea??

Nervous, hope you don't faint today, I always go for a deep breath and look the other way. You can also ask to lie down when they do it? You'll be fine 😉

nebbo · 04/04/2012 08:14

Those numbers at the end of that post were supposed to be a wink. (thats me thinking I'm cool and knowing how to use technology for you) xx

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 04/04/2012 08:15

I'm taking vit b6 and I think it is helping - it has to be at least 50mg though to work, pregnancy vits won't have that much in. Got mine from holland and Barrett.

I'm feeling pretty fed up at the moment, am only 7 weeks and desperately want to be through this first trimester. Am terrified I will miscarry and it'll all be for nothing.

nebbo · 04/04/2012 08:28

Oh fruits, I know how you feel.

It is just a few weeks in to pregnancy yet we get soooooo attached. It's a very natural reaction from what I hear, I spoke to my nan about the same thing yesterday and she said its all that she remembers from early pregnancy over 50 years ago with her kids! It doesn't help that you are still trying to keep it a secret, feeling rough 24/7 and every day seems to take a week to pass.

I went for an early scan to relieve my worries, it did a bit to say that it was all fine but it also made it more real and I know now that if anything happened I would be more upset now than I would have been before the scan.

We have to keep busy, stay positive, stay healthy and talk on here. We will get to the end of the first trimester together.

Xxxxxx

Sorry, I didn't mean to post that twice!!

(arrrggghh, technology. I need a manual!!)

Brockle · 04/04/2012 08:49

Really thinking of you fun, fingers crossed for the next scan. I admire the positivity detective* given the tremendous amount of puking! I am not being sick but feel nauseous all the time and pretty miserable with it so I am impressed. For some reason crisps, chips and potatoes are the only things that make me feel better. I can't even look at vegetables or bread.

My eldest DS was 2.6 yrs when DS2 was born chicken and whilst it was hard work it is nice to have that age gap. They play together really nicely and on the positive side you get to spend all your time with your eldest until she goes to nursery when she is 3. That was what I liked best of all.

God this thread moves fast. On holiday for a week and a bit from thursday and just cannot wait. The house won't clean itself whilst I am at work unfortunately. Early bird group MW session tonight. Not had one of them before so we shall see. Take care, just four weeks ish until the second trimester!

Chunkychicken · 04/04/2012 09:00

Thanks Brockle, good to know. As DD is an April birthday, we should get almost a year together before nursery in September when she's 3.5 & I get to take her there as well (unlike when working, as I'll already be in work before she starts... :( )

Feeling better on the sick/exhaustion front but I have a TERRIBLE cold so can't enjoy it at all :(

Not sure about the cravings thing being sex related. I ate sweet stuff like mad with DD but that included fruit, esp bananas. DD loves bananas now!!! I can't stand the thought of bananas now, though I have eaten some nice tropical fruit & bought tinned pineapple the other day... So who knows??!!

I'm also getting worried about the mc possibility but trying to be positively & think its rare & this is meant to be. Want my little 'baby no 2' to make it :)

horseylady · 04/04/2012 09:46

Nebbo I can't face tea either though did have a cup yesterday and was fine but I don't NEED tea?? I only drink two cups normally anyway. Food wise I'm getting better and the nausea is easing. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow according to mw but my dates are 3 behind that. Told my riding instructor Monday who was very excited lol!!! Scan two weeks tomorrow too!!! No name yet. My friend called hers fish as she had such bad water retention! She lost 3 stone after the birth!!! Hope you're all feeling better. Snow here today?!

Thechick · 04/04/2012 09:55

Morning all. Feeling so much better today. Only a slight bit of ms, but its fine. I'm 7+1 and I've seen the doctor but have no booking in appointment yet. I thought it would be at about 8 weeks and they give you about 3 weeks notice. Have you all got your appointments??

Nebbo I went off tea before i got my BFP. That was one of my signs.

Chunkychicken · 04/04/2012 10:04

Nebbo Meant to say, I've gone off tea and coffee this time. I went off tea until about 14wks with DD but I was v surprised to still want coffee. This time, the thought of either makes me feel a bit queasy, although I have been drinking lovely sweet decaf cappuccino from a sachet - so nothing like real coffee Wink

Chick I'm 7+2 and got a phone call from the MW last week, for an appointment just over 2 weeks later (next Thursday). Perhaps you'll hear soon?

shanelle5 · 04/04/2012 10:31

Morning all! Still in bed (lucky me) its something im really going to miss, having older kids who just get up and sort themselves out or with the teenagers veg in bed all morning too! Oh the fun of sleepless nights and 5am starts is making me cling to my duvet atm Grin
Talking of food, my diet is thoughrougly shite since gettig preggo, ive gone from being a gym bunny and watching every calorie slightly obsessively to stuffing down all manner of rubbish as and when I can stomach it which being honest is every hour to stave off the sickness. For dinner I had a KFC and a large slice of bannofee pie my 13 year old DD made. Every day I think I will do better and get some fruit and veg down me (not scampi fries) to keep down the size of my already expanding butt, by 11am ive usually caved though Blush. I have already put on 5 bloody lb which is my own fault and Im so not impressed with my diet but I feel so sick all the time eating is all I can do to keep a handle on it and unfortunately its only stodge I want. Anyone else put on weight? somebody be kind and tell me im not the only one... Booking in today on a less whingy note X

FoofFighter · 04/04/2012 10:48

I think I put a bit of weight on at the start but the last two weeks feel like I have lost, that should be down to me not really snacking, swappping white carbs for brown, potatoes for sweet potatoes, virtually no cakes/chocs etc (aside from yesterday when was at a coffee morning so had to) and have really tried to increase/double the amount of veg I eat. Not a big fruit person aside from the watery ones like melon and strawberries, I love my fruit but my body treats it like sweets if I eat too much!
A typical day is: I'm having wholemeal toast and eggs or porridge for breakfast, Wholemeal sandwich with cheese and salad or eggs and toast for lunch, something fish or veggie for tea with as many veggies/salad as I can cram on, and only having small portion of naughty stuff like chips. trying to not snack in the evenings and been mostly successful.

To whoever asked, daybreak is the new GMTV so it's on Itv/Stv. I will be trying hard to not go by the cameras though!! it's pretty cold and a few remnants of snow so I'll be all bundled up in thick coat, hat scarf, gloves, nobody will see anything but my eye peeking out pmsl.

had a big old heart to heart with OH who FINALLY noticed that "something was wrong" and am feeling a bit better this morning although still over analysing every symptom/disappearing symptom/lack of symptom. MW told me on Monday that many many many women she sees have NO symptoms whatsoever (aside from a bump at some point obv!) which is reassuring.

OP posts:
kiwi5 · 04/04/2012 11:08

this thread moves so fast, cant keep up!
so i had an early scan on monday, seems it was a little too early as not much to see. one little gestational sac. have another scan on tuesday to see if it has grown, so fingers crossed. not really sure how many weeks, i thought 6ish, but docs at the hospital thought more like 5. i only stopped BF DD in january so he said even if AF was regular, ovulation could be all over the shop.
so desperately hoping nugget is still in there, if it is, then may well have to move over to dec thread.
on the symptoms front, absolutely knackered, some nausea in the evenings and thats about it really. dont know if thats a good thing or not really!
hope everyone has a good day!

WaitingForMe · 04/04/2012 11:19

I've put on 3-4lbs. Frankly I don't care, I just want to ease the nausea.

One of my best friends put on five stone then lost all but a few pounds within a few months of giving birth. I walk everywhere so will be pushing a pram everywhere and plan to breastfeed. I'm confident I'll lose whatever I put on.

NervousAt20 · 04/04/2012 11:27

Had my bloods and it's was awful i will fully admit I'm a wuss the nurse couldn't find any veins then someone else came in a jabbed one arm and couldn't get any then I had to get on the bed because I went a bit to white Blush then when they finally got a vein had to go deep which made me cry and it HURT :( so feeling very sorry for myself and the little bruise on my arm doesn't help lol thought I deserved a mcmuffin on the way home to compensate lol

Partner is sitting there wondering "how the hell are we gunna get through labour"

FoofFighter · 04/04/2012 11:48

I've got brown discharge, had some Friday when was 8 weeks so put it down to my body thinking AF was coming. It was only a lttle smidge but this is more than that. Am booked in for scan Friday at 9am already so no point contacting the MW. Can't make up my mind if I feel achey in my back round by kidney level or if it's just part of the general aches and pains I get from my back problems anyway.

Could do with vegging on sofa but have to go and do this walk thing.

OP posts:
GsyAutumn · 04/04/2012 12:00

Hope you are ok FoofFighter and that the walk is good. Nervous - blood tests can be AWFUL. One time I had to have 2 nurses, and a bowl of hot water with my hand in , and it was like they had to MILK my arm to get the blood out. Fortunately been a lot better the past few years.

I'm now officially off tea which is somewhat miraculous as I was on 14 cups a day. Hot water is pretty much all I want to drink. And Shloer!!! Knackered and nauseous and getting nervous about booking in appt on 11 and first scan on the 16 April. Am on holiday at the moment and feeling guilty for not doing enough with the kids (8 and 6) but they seem happy enough. I'm mostly lying about reading books (3 and a half so far since Sunday) although bit of a drive today to visit family. Which probably means I should get out of my pyjamas and act like a normal human being for the rest of the day.

Not looking forward to the weekend - I was chuffed to bits in January when I secured a 6 month contract to provide weekly music at a fairly posh hotel every Sunday. Now, although the money will be very useful, as of this Sunday I have to work 7 days a week for 6 months. Which will give me about 4 weeks off before the bean arrives.

Hope you all have a good day :)

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 04/04/2012 12:38

Hope everything I'd ok foof. Thanks for the reassurance nebbo!

I'm going to be huge by the end of the first tri, and frankly I don't care - eating is the only thing which keeps the nausea at bay. It's pretty harsh though, I'm eating loads and enjoying none of it. What a waste! No tea here, no hot drinks at all in fact, the thought makes me feel I'll. Fizzy water is the only thing I can drink.

On the cravings/ gender theory, I craved really healthy stuff with my dd. This time I would rather not eat at all, but have to rat hourly!

Thechick · 04/04/2012 13:20

Hey foof if its any consolation, I've been having brown spotting since a week ago sunday. It kind of stopped ish last Sunday but it keeps coming back every now and again. Brown is supposed to be okay I've read and people on here have said the same. Its just the body getting rid of old blood. I feel everything is okay, morning sickness kicked in big time whilst I was getting it. And I did get to see the heartbeat at 6 weeks and everything was fine. I heard, I'm not sure if its true but would love to believe it, that if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks you have a 90% chance of having a healthy baby and if you see it at 8 weeks you have a 97% chance. I like those odds.

WaitingForMe · 04/04/2012 15:26

Booking in appointment was really quick and I have a mountain of paperwork to complete for my home visit on Wednesday.

Scans are running around two weeks behind so I can expect one around 14 weeks.

My resolve crumbled and I'm booked in for a private early scan when I'll be 9+5 (17 days to wait as I wanted a Saturday appointment).
