Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Evilwater · 02/04/2012 16:49

Hello everyone,
It's great to see izzy back,
Detective I'm sorry to hear your sickness is awful.

This week I've learnt how to knit! So I'm knitting a coat. Also I've had some blood tests back and they Are ok. I'm also very tired, so I havn't done any house cleaning.

I've also reflected on my visit to the midwife, and I'm not that impressed, she was very set on what I could and couldn't do. I must take pregaday, I must not have more than 2 cups of tea. Next time I see her I will not be scarred sheep! She also wanted me to excerise more, is that sly way to I'm fat???

I have my 12 week scan on thurs, I know I'm not 12 weeks, but it wasn't up for conversation. Any questions I should ask?

FoofFighter · 02/04/2012 16:54

Why you are having a 12 week scan when you aren't for one?! Are you wanting the Nuchal Translucency test doing? it has to be in a certain window.

funthatisfunny · 02/04/2012 16:54

hey ladies! Hopw you are all well. I had my scan this morning and it looks like a mmc; I have a sac but nowt else and I should read 6+6. I have another scan in a week to check the baby isn't just earlier than my dates but I know my dates, and according to their revised ones I would have had to conceive after I had my BFP!

So am just waiting for the dreaded scan to confirm a blighted ovum and just desperately hope I miscarry spontaneously soon and don't need an EPRC, the thought of general anaesthetic is horrific to me (i am a control freak).

Been sad today but DH and DS been fabulous, am so fortunate to have them, and am now thinking of the weight I can lose and fitness I can gain for a new pregnancy, and of the new PhD focus I will have without feeling sick and worried all the time :) All will be well! it wasn't meant to be and somehow I always felt it.

Take care all you lovely ladies and may your pregnancies be wonderful and babylicious!

xfx

Evilwater · 02/04/2012 16:59

Foo yes that is the scan, also the hospital use it for dating too.

Fun I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

Katuk82 · 02/04/2012 17:02

Thanks Donnadoon i really do want to see a heartbeat and 14 week + is sooo far away, thinking it might be worth it for my piece of mind. :)

was also caught off guard at having to choose hospitals, doesn't help that i'm new to the area so don't know them by reputation. My OH thinks i should have said St Marys (manchester) as its close to where he works :rolls eyes: BUT it does also have a award winning mat unit... but could take a while to get to in rush hour... i chose the one closest to where we live, can i change my mind? How much distance / time to reach hospital would you say was reasonable?

Sure i was supposed to leave this appointment with fewer questions not more!

Cacacaz · 02/04/2012 17:03

Oh Fun, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Take it easy, I hope you have a sticky bean soon.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/04/2012 17:03

How many weeks are you evilwater? That mw doesnt sound great Confused

I feel so bloated and full I don't know how I'm going to have dinner in an hour.
I've had lunch at 1pm, tuna roll, crisps and choc bar followed an hour later by a cuppa and a kitkat but that's it and I've felt full to bursting ever since and slightly sick.

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/04/2012 17:06

Sorry bad x post. fun v sorry to hear your news. Was the scan pre booked or was it an emergency scan?

FoofFighter · 02/04/2012 17:07

oh funny Sad I'll keep everything crossed for your next scan and hope the news changes x

NervousAt20 · 02/04/2012 17:09

Aw fun hope your okay :)

Evilwater · 02/04/2012 17:10

Dh21 I think I'm 10. I know when i have sex!
The midwife is going to get a bit of a shock when I next see her. I have a line of mums who would like to change her mind. The only problem is picking one.

FruitSaladIsNotPudding · 02/04/2012 17:15

So sorry to hear that fun. Glad to hear you are staying positive though. Take care of yourself. x

pipsicles · 02/04/2012 17:55

Katuk that sounds really bad! I'm sure you have to have your scan and abnormalities tests done before that?! I'd definitely ring the hospital. It might be worth putting in a complaint with someone - not a great experience for your first pg! I feel for you.

Nausea on and off today and have had no idea how to stop it :( the only thing that seems to have consistently helped has been chicken, but even then, not always. We have lovely lamb for dinner tonight that has been cooking for the last three hours and still has another hour to go - really hoping I still want it by the time it's cooked!

pipsicles · 02/04/2012 18:02

Sorry for the x post fun and sorry to hear your news. You seem to be taking it well though and it sounds like your DH is being supportive. I hope you get your sticky bean when the time is right.

What's with all these dodgy midwives?! Maybe detective should go and tell them how it's done!

Hope we all manage our dinner!

FoofFighter · 02/04/2012 18:59

I bought a meat pie for tea, it looked nice on the picture. Have eaten one chunk of meat and urrghhhhhh, now got a little pile of beef chunks on the side of my plate.
pastry, brocolli and sweet potato it is then!

OP posts:
tomatoplantproject · 02/04/2012 19:08

So sorry fun. Here's hoping for a miracle baby or sticky bean very soon x

Detective - hope you feel better soon and at least the hospital will be taking care of you and getting some liquids etc inside.

Had my booking in appt today and the midwife was lovely. She's changed my consultant to the nice lady who was looking after me when I had a suspected ectopic so at least if things get difficult again I'll know the dr. Am so surprised cos everything I'd heard about London midwives has been pretty damning but it sounds as if the local setup is good.

Right. Off to think about tea. Hope all those with sickness are ok, and fun, take care sweetheart x

FoofFighter · 02/04/2012 19:36

A question.

Do you all remember at the start of your pregnancy having a lot of cervical mucus all the while? Mine's stopped. Wondering if others had too? Would that be cause plug has been made so it tails off then?

OP posts:
Chunkychicken · 02/04/2012 19:38

So sorry fun x

Hi all new passengers :)

Detective feel better soon Thanks

Glad to hear all the good news/appt are progressing from everybody else.

Quick one from me as I'm waiting in the supermarket car park to pick up my sis & her shopping.

Sickness has been just that, rather than vomiting. Has been helped by eating lots of nice savoury food & a tropical fruit salad, & drinking plenty of sweet soft drinks. Have also bought boiled sweets to help stave off the nausea when it hits. Fingers crossed huh??!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 02/04/2012 19:40

foof I've had large quantities of cm its only just starting to tail off now. Don't know if it's because of the plug but I'm glad it has!

blonderthanred · 02/04/2012 19:42

Oh dear fun, I add my good wishes to the others.

Have been eating really well but yesterday I couldn't face my broccoli and now the thought makes me boak...

Asked for v plain dinner tonight due to nausea, DH has proudly made me very strong rosemary potatoes which (a) reek and (b) contain large amounts of rosemary which apparently can cause contractions. Feel like horrible ungrateful wife...

TheDetective · 02/04/2012 19:44

Oh Fun I am so so sorry to hear that :( I really hope something positive comes from your next scan. I hope this week goes by very quickly for you. Am thinking of you :) x

I'm home now, feeling much better. I've had lots of stingy needles, but worth it, as I kept some food down, and actually wanted to eat! I look like a pin cushion - 4 attempts at a cannula, and bloods as well. I've got a smashing bruise on the back of my hand as a reward!

As of tomorrow I will be going to the much further away hospital in this area, as that is where the daily rehydration clinc is. As opposed to the hospital I have been going to which is right down the road Angry. I just hope I get some energy back as the drive will feel scary otherwise.

Anyway, if I can have daily IM anti emetics, I am sure this will help a hell of a lot. It isn't the IV fluids I need, I want to be able to keep oral things down!

I'm so sorry to moan and whinge so much, I promise i'll stop soon! I can only really talk to DP about it, and well, as lovely as he is, he doesn't understand the same as others going through similar!

I wish they would just give me the damn IM injections to take at home when things got bad. Would be much better in the long run for me! Will pester tomorrow :)

This baby better appreciate what I am going through, I tell ya!!

soandsosmum · 02/04/2012 20:40

Hi donnadoon
You must be near me as I'm just south of Atherstone, west of nuneaton

Stuntnun · 02/04/2012 20:48

Fun I'm so sorry you're having a tough time but glad to hear you sound quite positive. When I had my MMC in December they gave me misoprostol which relaxes your cervix and basically makes everything happen very quickly by itself so you don't need the ERPC. But they won't give you that drug until they're certain about your pregnancy. If you do end up having the ERPC then at least all the uterus lining is removed so you won't bleed for as long afterwards. Give yourself lots of time to cope with it, it's an awful thing to go through a miscarriage despite how common it is.

With my last pregnancy it took over a year to get pregnant. After the miscarriage, we started trying again as soon as possible and I'm now only 20 weeks behind where I was with the last pregnancy. I think maybe when you've recently been pregnant your body is ready to go again, so hopefully you will get a sticky bean really soon.

NervousAt20 · 02/04/2012 20:52

detective at least your feeling a little better and hopefully just feel more and more and then the longer drive will be worth while in the end :) and don't think twice about moaning it's what we all do this is a great place to vent :)

WaitingForMe · 02/04/2012 22:03

So sorry to hear your news fun.

I'm feeling worse every day with MS. I haven't actually been sick but I have a phobia of throwing up and was only sick twice when I had E Coli. I go pale, turn green and dry heave for a bit. Fried food and smoking triggers it so I want to just stay at home. Going to Amsterdam on Friday and am struggling to feel positive about it. Eating helps a bit but not really.

My mum is amazing but is finding it all a bit magical. I love her for it but I don't feel like this is special, I feel like the baby is a parasite intent on killing me.

Has anyone else nicknamed theirs? Please tell me I'm not the only one with "parasite" Blush
