hi guys,
I love the names Grace and Daisy for girls. My sister was gonna call her little girl Lily which i also think is lovely.
Is it me or does it seem that there is a lot more choice out there for girls names?

how is everyone doing? Hope you all enjoyed Valentines day, DH is working away (in Navy) at the moment, so there wasn't anything going on here. Mind you, thats not such a bad thing, still not in the mood for (you know what). Too tired and feeling not very attractive. In fact I went right off sex through my other pregnancies too, has anyone else experienced this?
I hear stories about women who get really horny (sorry) but that hasn't happened to me yet!

I was adamant last time that if it was a girl she would be called Maddison, out popped a girl but she looked nothing like a maddison and we changed it. Unfortunetly I had lots of cards with 'congrats on maddison' on them. This time I dont think ill be deciding on a name, although DH has decided he likes Olivia and Lily May
Hope the scan went well HC

kbaby · 15/02/2006 19:30

fORGOT TO ADD i HAVE BEEN GETTING TERRIBLE HEADACHES THE PAST FEW DAYS. I WOKE WITH ONE YESTERDAY AND IT STILL HASNT GONE EVEN AFTER A FULL NIGHTS SLEEP AND PARACETAMOLS.
ANYONE ELSE SUFFERING?

spub · 15/02/2006 19:56

Guys, all good here. Love the girls'names. My dd is Lily Rachel.
So the scan went brilliantly and I am havng a

Boy!!!!
Really pleased. Wouldn't have cared either way but it's nice to think we'll have one of each.
HC - Good luck for tomorrow.

maewest · 15/02/2006 20:01

Thanks for all those reassuring messages about PND - I've got lots of good support around me here, DH and my mum I'm sure will keep an eye on me. I've felt a few flutters today, not sure if it's too early as I'm just coming up to 17 weeks, but it definitely feels different from digestion

jom · 15/02/2006 20:34

Thanks for all your comments on feeling movement. I'm pretty sure I've felt little movements since I wrote, its just that they're more like a soft kick than flutterings. Don't think its digestion, although I do feel that too. Anyway, feeling more relaxed about it all. Only just under two weeks to next scan!

Kayzed where are you from in Oz? (I'm from Melbourne)

Wallace · 15/02/2006 20:36

Congrats on your boy

Afternoon ladies

Had our scan this morning and madam was not co-operating so sounds like we have got another little horror on our hands. DH kept asking if it was definitely a girl. Even though the sonographer knew it was a girl he kept saying 'he' the whole time-must be just habit. Have a low lying placenta again so got to have a 32 week scan as well.

spub-brill news on having a boy. ((xx))

If I ever have another I am not going to do the string test-still can't belive it has let me down. Perhaps it only works in the late stages of pregnancy so will try it later on. DH pointed out that I wasn't the oldest PG lady waiting for a scan this morning meaning I have time for more children. You will see me on a thread in years to come asking how to make sure I have a boy after 5 girls-lol!

Feeling poorly again-have a sore throat and a mouth ulcer from hell along with aches and pains so it will be another early night. Honestly, it is one thing after the other and feeling nauseous again.

pinkdolly, kayzed and kbaby-I do hope your headaches ease up girls-v. nasty. ((xx))

Took a wee sample in today but didn't need it but it was bright orange-is this normal???? Will take one to the midwife next week when I go.

DD has gone abit quiet so best see what she is up to.

Bye for now and hugs to all.

Wallace · 16/02/2006 17:42

That is scary kayzed, but glad all is okay xxxxx

pinkdolly · 16/02/2006 18:11

Kayzed- Poor you! starting with the braxtons this early.
i've had a few tightnings but nothing like that. I hope they dont keep you up tonite.

HC - good news on the scan, glad it went well.
Cant wait for my scan, seems ages away 13th March, i'll be 21 weeks by then. By the way, A friend of mine did the string test with me on my first and told me I was having a boy. I was convinced it worked and bought boys clothes and for the last 3 months of pg was calling my bump Dylan. So I was quite shocked when Zoe arrived!

deblaca · 16/02/2006 18:35

hello ladies

having spent the last couple of hours reading this thread (when i should have been working!), i thought i should say hi - really good/helpful to read other mums to be 'news'

Feel like a bit of a late comer .... EDD is 8th july ... 20th week scan next monday (can't wait) ... oh and its our first

deblaca · 16/02/2006 18:40

sorry meant to add that - KayZed (sp?) hope everything settles down for you soon

AggiePanther · 16/02/2006 21:32

Welcome deblaca Have added you to the list, oh and spub I added your boy too Glad to hear you're ok kayzed - mustve been scary!
HC glad the scan went well ... Oh and if he keeps up the moaning, remind your DH that it's the sperm that decides the sex of the baby not the egg .. that should keep him quiet for a bit

Hi everyone, welcome deblaca good luck with your 20 week scan.

HC glad scan went ok, hope you feel better soon. I agree tell DH he's the one who determines the sex .

Kayzed so glad everything is ok sounds really frightening.

Streaming cold today glad its friday!!!

Pinkdolly your scan is the day before mine, I'll be 22+4 .

usandbump · 17/02/2006 09:49

Morning all

Hope you are ok Kayzed it must have been very frightening.

Another boy Spub! Congrats

Welcome to debalca- you are due on my birthday!

Can I ask everyone please have you had midwife appointments yet? I had my booking at 11 weeks and saw consultant last week for some checks due to family history but at 20+5 I haven't had a midwife appointment. Is this normal? Consultant kept asking me questions I didn't have the answers to, this is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure what the options are in my area. Maybe I'm being too anxious?
Recieved a letter from consultant yesterday and have to go and have some blood taken in the next few days to check to see if I'm at a high risk of blood clotting as my mother had a stroke at 33. Trying not to worry as it is just a precaution.
Enjoy your Fridays and hope you are looking forward to lovely weekends

mumtwobe · 17/02/2006 09:53

hello

i am due on the 18th july 2006, first baby, and feeling really fat!!! my second scan is on the 2nd march, the question is do i find out the sex of the baby or not????

usandbump · 17/02/2006 10:02

Hi mumtwobe and welcome

Can I firstly say you are not fat you are blooming and doing the very important job of adding another wonderful person to the population.

I found out the sex at my scan couldn't help myself this is my first pregancy too. Shopping is much more fun knowing we are having a boy. Plus there are already 2 grandsons in the family and I knew everyone was secretly hoping it was a girl so this stops months of guessing and secretly crossed fingers!!! We had no preference at all and it was just as well coz we couldn't agree on any girls names

HumphreysCorner · 17/02/2006 11:46

Morning ladies

Big welcomes to deblaca and mumtwobe. Congratulations on being 1st time mums. I am a can't wait, won't wait kind of girl so obviously would recommend that everyone finds out the sex. Of course it is down to personal preference so you must do what is right for you. Good luck with your scans! ((xx))

Have just done a pile of ironing so going to have a cuppa and watch Desperate Housewives.

Meant to say-did you see on the conception thread that jamiesam is expecting again? So pleased for her.

jersey-hope your cold soon goes and you feel on top form again-well as on top as you can. ((xx))

usandbump-1st time mums should see the midwife at:

8-10 weeks-booking in
16-18 weeks-Downs/Spina Bifida blood tests and antenatal check up
25 weeks
28 weeks
31 weeks
34 weeks
37 weeks
39 weeks
40 weeks

2nd time mums don't get the 25, 31 or 40 week check up.

I am going next week and will be nearly 22 weeks-the midwife asked me to come but really I shouldn't be seeing her until 28 weeks then again at 34 weeks. I find that scary as it is so reassuring to hear the heart beat.

Think we have agreed on Sophie but not a middle name as yet as he is not liking Laura.

Our record list is growing longer every day
