Morning, still on my BP monitor which went off every hour during the night!!! Not much sleep here. At least it can be turned off at 10:30 this morning.

It looks like I'm one of the older ones .

I know what you mean about your MIL HC, luckly I get on very well with mine but not with my own mother. She wouldn't want to be there anyway, and I wouldn't want to she would spend the time telling me its not that bad just get on with it!!!

Last time when in hospital she kept wanting to know why I hadn't had the baby yet, she had me at 37 weeks. even though I kept telling her they wouldn't iduce me till 38 weeks unless the baby was in trouble as that was their policy. Surprised my BP didn't go through the roof.

She isn't even that excited about this baby (her 2nd grandchild) all I got when we told her was, well its about time you where having another . I supposed I should be used to it after 34 yrs........

Sorry will stop moaning now.

Hope you and AP are feeling better today.

Morning ladies

Had an upsetting evening as when I went to comfort DD at around 9pm due to her still being poorly DH came in and said leave the room as she doesn't like you here when she goes to bed. Of course she immediately told me to go away beacause DH said so which really upset me. It was so hurtful. I was doing alright until he came in Still feel poorly with my cold so quite emotional too with hormones etc.

I don't mind giving my age-just not my weight can't believe why that is a big factor towards high risk results-I'm not the biggest girl in the world. If I ever have another child I am going to be positively underweight (in my dreams) to see if the results alter as I would be 39 by then.

Put me down as a youngun too, I'm just clinging to 27, but will be 28 on 20 Feb. Did my first yoga session today, really lovely (altho feel tired now). Also nice to be in a room with other pregnant ladies, hopefully I'll make some friends.

twisty · 08/02/2006 19:43

Hi everyone
I am expecting my first on the 5th July and am very excited - only discovered mumsnet last week and am finding it a great help! Have suffered with really bad morning sickness since about 7 weeks and am just starting to feel better now. Still sick occassionally though but usually if I have been out and ate a big meal or something - feel sick quite often though. Got my second scan (20 wk scan) tomorrow and looking forward to that a lot! Still in dilema as to whether or not to find out the baby's sex.

HumphreysCorner · 08/02/2006 19:47

A massive welcome twisty and good luck with your scan. Go on and be a devil and find out the sex ((xx))

By the way I am 27 too and maewest was wondering - did you do yoga before you were pregnant at all - fancied it for years but not very co-ordinated and even less bendy so wasn't sure if now was a good time to start.

twisty · 08/02/2006 19:50

Think I will - hubby not convinced though and what we have said is that we won't tell anyone else if we find out. Slightly worried that they might get it wrong though - how bad would that be?

Straightforward · 08/02/2006 20:06

Hello girls and welcome twisty (made me laugh when you said you weren't bendy enough for yoga with a MN name like that!)

The only thing I'm worried about with this list is alienating anyone who's very different either end of the scale. Didn't someone have a problem admitting how old (young!)they were very early on in this thread? Just want to say - don't worry if you're not the same age as everyone else!

Wallace · 08/02/2006 20:06

Welcome twisty - good luck for your scan

What a scare kayzed - glad everything is okay.

I'm not 28 until 22nd June...am I still the youngest?

Straightforward · 08/02/2006 20:20

No Wallace - you're definintely not the youngest. Lilianna is 19 (please be sensitive with your reactions to that though, as it was hard for her to 'admit' to as she thought she might be judged). As a matter of fact, we haven't heard from her in a while - are you out there, lilianna?

Just flicked through the first thread to check I'd remembered that right, and it was both funny to read us all in early pregnancy, throwing up all over the place, but also really sad to remember some people who were on the thread then lost their babies

lilianna · 08/02/2006 20:25

hiya. Been having a bad pg. been in and out of hospital with bleeding. Also my placenta is a different shape.

Wallace · 08/02/2006 20:25

I think there are a few we haven't heard from for a while...hope all's okay. I was 20 when I became pregnant with ds, so i would never judge

Straightforward · 08/02/2006 20:31

Sorry to hear you've been having a bad time Lilianna, but good to read you again. YOur placenta is a different shape from what? What makes that a problem? Hope things get better for you xxx

Wallace - I didn't mean that you specifically might judge - it was just a general comment so that noone was too light-hearted about it without knowing how she'd felt in December.

Straightforward · 08/02/2006 20:31

Why does the italics thing never work for me?

Straightforward · 08/02/2006 20:32

Ha! It did then! That'll teach me to preview each time! Sorry girls - just ignore me...

thanks. 18weeks today so things are looking up.
baby is said to be fine. My placenta was known to be tented. Now they are saying its just a different shape. Baby seems to be happy though.

Wallace · 08/02/2006 20:46

Sorry to hear things are not going so well for you lilianna xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Straitforward - I know what you mean about light-hearted comments about age...I have been very restrained and mananged to make not a single joke about all you geriatric mums

lilianna · 08/02/2006 20:50

be back soon just got to get ds2 changed. his teething and has dribbled everywhere. (his 6 months)

maewest · 08/02/2006 20:57

whoah - chatty tonight! Welcome back Lilianna, hope things go ok for you.

And welcome to twisty - and no, haven't really done any yoga before, my co-ordination is terrible, so that's one reason for taking it up now. Also I've had several friends recommend it as preparation for labour (v relaxing too!)

lilianna · 08/02/2006 21:05

is anyone suffering with spd?

dangirl · 08/02/2006 21:17

Evening Girls!

Welcome to twisty.
Welcome back Liliana - sorry to hear you have had a rough time. Fingers x-ed for you.

Had cervix scan again today. Static from last week at 37 mm so everything is calm for now. Going back in 2 weeks time.
Kayzed - 5 cm - wauhh. something to be proud of, eh! It can appear longer if you have a full bladder. Was that the case?
Glad to hear you are on the bend after what sounds like some difficult days.

The Dr in the clinic had a bit of extra time today so she asked me if we should take a good look at the baby. That was really nice of her!
Also I got to see that it almost certainly is a little ........BOY. Gosh! I don't know what to do with a boy Lovely to have one of each though

Have a nice evening all.
