It's a great feeling to know the results are back and ok.Can relax a little now.Spub i'm at St Johns in Livingston.I may have to have a growth scan later on as my ds1 and ds2 were 6lbs 6oz and 6lbs 13oz,my dd was 9lbs 14oz so they want to keep an eye on how big this one ends up.If i do have another scan i will ask but i really don't think they will say.I don't know anyone who's been told at my hosp.

twisty · 18/02/2006 09:45

I was low risk too but results suprised me a little - 650:1. Just expected low risk to be less than that - am 27.

twisty · 18/02/2006 09:46

Have been trying to do my pelvic floor religiously for last couple of days - however, am finding that I hold my breath a bit when I do them - can't help it - any advice?

twisty · 18/02/2006 09:47

Also, has anyone tried any pregnancy fitness dvd's. I have done no exercise since getting pregnant and am starting to feel gross!

We don't get told the actual number if we're low risk ... I do know that higher than 1:250 is low risk i.e 1:249 would be considered high risk but 1:251 would be low risk..so I guess I must be 1:250 or above. Twisty, 1:650 is the overall average odds of having a baby with downs (when the whole population is looked at) so your score is completely average

So many messages! Welcome to the new ones

Still haven't got the results of my AFP which I guess is good news, as I was told I would hear ion a week if I was high risk.

After feeling lots of movement a few days ago, I have felt nothing since.

Re finding out about the sex. We did this last time with DD and will ask again when I have the 20-week scan on the 27th. I found it much easier to imagine the baby as a person once I knew the sex, and I felt much closer to her. Indeed, I was amazed at how hard it was to imagine someone without knowing their sex.

pinkdolly · 18/02/2006 12:32

Hi all,
Wow! It's amazing how much you miss when you aren't on for just one day. Have just switched isp's turned me off yesterday morning and have just come back on line.
Hello, to the new mums in the group, we are big lot now!
I had to laugh at the suggestion at Zach william, from the beginning our boy was always going to be Zak and after thinking for ages over soemthing to go with it we decided on my grandad's name for his middle name (just so happens to be William!), lol.

Well had a bad day yesterday, trouble with my dad, upsetting my mum. Then I had to spend 2hrs convincing my dad he was being unreasonable.
They're alright again now, I didn't realise their divorce would put so much pressure on me. Oh,well that's life I suppose.

Hope you r all well today, cant believe some of you havent seen the midwife yet, seems really late.
Have a nice weekend!

maewest · 18/02/2006 15:29

Hi all - we have decided not to find out the sex, but if we crack and do decide to find out ( scan in less than 2 wks now), that we won't tell anyone else. This is our first, so don't feel like I need to know.

Have been making chocolate brownies today - lovely chocolatey smells emanating from the kitchen. mmmmmmm.....

bumpybel · 18/02/2006 15:35

Afternoon!

Pinkdolly.. sorry to hear you had a bad day yesterday. It must be hard trying to mediate between parents and look after your own family... in addition to looking after bump. Dont let it get you down.
I'm really keen for William as a boys name. Like Henry too... Girls names seem to be alot harder to choose!

Kayzed... good advice re breathing out in pelvic floor... I've just had a go and it seems to work. Has also made me feel quite relaxed. I'd like to find a yoga class, but would be totally new to it all and would proably make a complete fool of myself!

Twisty, havent tried any preg fitness dvds, but was debating getting one. Swimming seems to be a good relaxer.. have you got a pool near you?

On the 'finding out the sex' front... I'm not going to find out... Am quite curious but also like surprises! I did HC's thread test and it swung side to side (not the boys way, and not in a circle, the girls way)!!! Prob wont be able to resist trying again though, despite it being totally unreliable!!!

Spub, have you thought of any names for your little chap?

Usandbump... Zach William Parker sounds fab. ZWP for initials doesnt spell anything embarrasing either. Maybe you wouldnt want any middle name with an A or an I (ZIP/ ZAP). I'm a P too, and cant go for Peter/ Patrick etc! Have bought a book on names and it gives all the do's and donts on choosing names your child can live with!!! I looked up Zach in it for you and it means 'spiritual', which is quite nice and calm. Willam means 'staunch protector'... so you could have a spiritually staunch protector!!!

Right.. might go and have a swim... either that or raid the fridge!

bumpybel · 18/02/2006 16:33

... Forget that... ended up trawling on the Wales thread!... Kbaby are you still living Caerphilly?

Hi all - has anyone got any suggestions for really dry sore lips - is vaseline (petroleum jelly) safe to use? Am drinking lots of water so can't be due to dehydration. Lips are getting really unsightly though!

20 weeks today!! and LOTS of kicking!

jom · 18/02/2006 19:51

We also love William as our boys name! Still undecided on second name and a girls name though. Better get thinking as we're not finding out the sex.
