Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

I will continue to swim and run as I know how easy it is for me to become lazy and I'll end up putting all my weight back on plus some! Still flitting between worrying because of last mc and getting excited about prams!

Having to pee a lot today and the rank metallic taste is back!

I'm counting down the days till I can go on a fabric and wool buying spree, 5weeks from Friday... I'd rather gender neutral colours to start so can get creating early, plus I'm planning crib sheets, curtains, buggy blanket and possibly clothes for both Sprout and me so need to get a wiggle on!

backwardpossom · 11/04/2012 13:03

I don't think I'll need a double buggy - DS will be 3 and a half... I might look into getting a better sling this time so that if DS needs to sit in a buggy, he can. Also, this baby will be getting very little that's new. Especially if it's a boy!! I kept everything of DS's...

lauraloo09 · 11/04/2012 13:21

clarella yeah ill still be training i will just be doing kata and light pad work no sparring or contact practice for me :)

dont think i will be needing a double buggy like you backward my DD will be 3 1/2 yrs old. i was in mothercare looking at prams this morning even tho i dont need one still have the Quinny Buzz i used with DD but i really fancy a new one i loved pram shopping before :) x

is anyone else being driven up the wall with the food constraints already?
i made sure to poach my eggs at lunchtime so that there was no chance of undercooked whites - it didn't occur to me, until half way through devouring, that maybe the yolks ought to be cooked too! doh! Confused
last night went out for a meal as it was DH birthday and tried to make sure to order sensibly only to find the pigeon breast was served rare and the sauce almost certainly was made with raw egg yolk.
oh the guilt Sad

I was really irritated with my sister going on about food and everythign yesterday. I also made a comment on FB about my legs being twitchy (which they have been for years, and I have commented on it before) and she sent me a text messag telling me to take the comment down otherwise people will guess. It is driving me nuts!

I have just had to tell my supervisor that I am expecting as she emailed me details about a course they want me to do. I can probably still do it, but it depends how much I have to fly off the island and when!

ItsMyLastOne · 11/04/2012 14:30

I have to admit, the only hung I've done food/drink wise is stop an alcohol (I hardly drank anyway since having dd) and bought decaf tea. Apart from that nothing else has changed but I'm veggie so that makes a difference I suppose.

We've kept loads of DD's and my niece's stuff. The other day DP told me I should go through all their old stuff and decided what to keep - I already had! Maybe I've kept too much!

Oh and pushchairs are a very sore subject in this house. At the moment I have one double (to use with my niece) and... er... 5 single pushchairs. And I think I've been very restrained. Wink We'll definitely need a double as DD and my niece will both be 2.2. I think a sling, double and possibly buggy board will work for when I have all 3 children.

ItsMyLastOne · 11/04/2012 14:31

*thing not hung - stupid iPad!

Dillydollydaydream · 11/04/2012 14:39

Yes I'll be finding out sex hopefully.
Im down to 2 cups of tea a day now. One in morning and one in the evening. Last time I went off tea and coffee anyway.
I did have a small glass off while a couple of days before AF was due so was obviously pregnant but hadn't tested yet.

Hopefully I won't go too far overdue or I won't be drinking anything at Christmas this year. I was actually thinking when I'd be booked for induction if I went overdue? I'm due 16th dec so 40+14 would be 30th December. Crikey! I might end up with a 2013 baby?! Shock

Dillydollydaydream · 11/04/2012 14:41

^Glass of wine obv.

Stacks · 11/04/2012 14:48

We'll, I went to the doctor this morning to register, and mentioned my worries about a possible eptopic pg. I had lots of abdominal surgery in 2009 and have one blocked tube. If I do have problems, which I'm more likely to than average, then I really don't want to lose my last tube. She sent me away saying she'd find outwhat the procedure is then call me.

I've now got to go back and have blood tests done to check hcg. If it's high enough I'll have a scan next week, if not they'll check again and I guess do a scan later. All a bit worrying, as well as inconvenient with my doctor being 45 min bus journey from work, which I got into late because of appointment this morning.

backwardpossom · 11/04/2012 15:05

Hope all is well, stacks

Hmm, things you shouldn't do when you're pregnant... well... the week before my BFP, I was rather drunk and was eating all sorts of blue cheeses. I had a glass of champagne at a wedding on Sat. I was on antibiotics not suitable for pregnant women a few days before BFP. DS had slapped cheek a couple of weeks ago... Not doing very well, am I?!!

PrunellaDeVille · 11/04/2012 15:14

fx stacks

so glad to hear i can still have a runny yolk Smile small pleasures

Barbeasty · 11/04/2012 15:15

I tried to book into the midwife clinic, but they have to wait for her next roster before they know when she'll be in when I'm around 8 weeks.

I'm leaning towards probably going for a double pushchair. DD will be 2.5 and I can't use a buggy board with mine. I'd use a sling, but DH wouldn't so it isn't really practical to go down that route. And MIL looks after DD 2 days a week and will need something when she has both of them.

I'm looking longingly at the empty cup from my second cup of tea. Caffeine is by far the hardest thing to restrict, I'm glad you can eat more cheeses than last time but I need to dig into whether I can have rare meat this time.

Not sure about the NCT. I regretted not doing it last time. I did the bumps and babies coffee mornings which were good, and their post natal course though. That was good, but cliquey with only 2 of us not from ante natal groups.

Barbeasty · 11/04/2012 15:16

backwardpossum DD had chicken pox a couple of weeks ago, so not good either!

FriendofDorothy · 11/04/2012 15:20

I just drink decaff coffee. I think it tastes exactly the same anyway!

backwardpossom · 11/04/2012 15:22

Yeah, decaf is fine. I drank decaf tea a lot last time around.

Barbeasty I think I'll mention it to the midwife when I book in - I'm hoping I'd be immune anyway (chances are I had it as a child...)

CODwidow · 11/04/2012 15:25

Ooooo pushchairs are a sore subject in this house also as I've had over 30 in the past 10 years! But I will need one as youngest is 3.5 now so I only have a small stroller left.

Caffeine is also my hardest thing to give up, I can't stomach coffee anyway at the mo but must go get decaf tea!

Well my son had a gp appt today so ive picked up all the paperwork that needs filling in for my booking in so feels a bit more 'real'

Queenofsiburbia · 11/04/2012 15:34

Oh the food - SO annoying.
My MIL who I end up seeing v.frequently as they live close to us, knows my fav things for lunch are pate and french cheese so have to keep avoiding her for lunch. Plus ALL my friends are on preggers alerts when you avoid a glass of wine or, as last night, push soft boiled egg around in a salad - basically had to eat it. Oooh The Guilt!
On that subject.. the first thing the (male) Doctor did was give me a guilt trip as I hadn't known I had to take folic acid before conceiving. I said rather crossly that probably it would all be a disaster & am clearly a terrible mother already. He looked abit taken aback.

My biggest food regret is not being able to eat cake and brownie mixture. I think I will ask for it as part of my birth plan. I had never thought about that so it was an annoying realisation! Although TBF its probably going to help me get into my bikini soon.
Related to the bikini...I'm doing loads of exercise and think its fine 'til you feel big and lumpy (from pregnancy not exercise..). Have no basis for this other than my own logic, also everywhere it says its easier if you're fit.
Hollow laugh

Cookiesandcream06 · 11/04/2012 15:41

I was really quite drunk on more than one occasion before my BFP! I hadn't drunk in yonks, how typical is that? I have one cup of coffee a day at the mo- I asked the GP and even she said she drank one a day when she was preg. I did try a decaff latte from Costa the other day.. Not bad! I've given up cigarettes, wine, cheeses, And cut down by aprox 3 cups of tea/coffee each day! I've gained weight already. Unless its just more wind bloating me even more Confused

The pushchair is a sore subject in my household also.. I want a new one. I know it's bratty. And unnecessary. I just want a new one! DD will be 3 1/2 she doesnt even use one now so that's one thing less to worry about I spose.

As for knowing the gender.. I'm terrible.. I'm even debating booking an extra early scan- I'm that impatient Blush I want to take up knitting so I want to know what colour wool to buy (I going to start with cream for now!) and if I need boys clothes I'll be starting from scratch so need to get saving even harder!

ScrambledSmegs · 11/04/2012 15:52

stacks you know things are more than likely fine? Please don't be too worried, I'm sure you'll have a lovely reassuring early scan and all will be well. Come back to the rat-smackateers for a friendly kick up the bum if you want Wink

Ha! I can beat all you irresponsible types! I had sushi a week after I got my bfp! Plus had a medium-rare steak with blue cheese the day after that (ok, so it was in a sauce so cooked). I just keep forgetting that I'm pregnant Confused God knows how, with all the vomiting I'm doing Hmm

Seriously want to find out the gender this time, but DH doesn't. I guess he'll win. Le sigh.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 11/04/2012 16:06

I've just read the nhs guidelines on food in pregnancy and it seems a lot has changed!! scrambled apparently sushi and stilton are fine?? This is unbelievably good news to me, can't wait until trimester 2 so I can have a little glass of red with some stilton on bread. Link - nhs

Very pleased there are some pram crazy ladies on here, you will be extremely useful for advice in a few months.

I'm desperate to know the gender, we didn't last time and I wa quite high on gas and air that I didn't really react when dh told me. He doesn't want to know because he thinks it'd be a nice surprise but he doesn't have to go through labour.
