Wow that must have been a true sneeze birth! I can't believe I'm waking up to SUCH good news so out of the blue!

Can't wait to hear your birth story, I hope it was straightforward to find someone to look after DS1.

Especially Envy now! I know it's Scarlet's turn next though!

Huge congratulations jaggy, well done you!! Dying for more info, glad you're having lovely newborn cuddles and sniffing Grin Thanks

McPopcornMouseNFries · 18/04/2012 09:31

Glad DN is doing ok wants - keeping in him is probably wise.

CONGRABULATIONS jaggy and mini-jag! Thanks

jenfraggle · 18/04/2012 10:05

Glad they are keeping DN in Wants, they will be able to keep an eye much more easily and brooking that sods law will kick in and it won't be needed as everything will be fine.

Woohoo jaggy! Looking forward to your story

jaggythistle · 18/04/2012 10:15

daddy managed to get him all dressed while i had a shower. then he had a huge feed before letting me get my breakfast!

it was fast enough for a sneeze birth, with added forceps at the end though. so DS2 a bit stripy and me a bit tender. by the time backup of in-laws had arrived it was all going a bit fast, glad i didn't wait for mine! was nearly fully dilated by the time we got here. brook tastic. even though i failed to listen to my natal hypnotherapy cd much it was practice enough for a lot of huffing and puffing. DH and lovely MW were good at reminding me to actually breathe. i chucked away the gas and air cos it was annoying me so ended up with just a local for forceps bit. :-O didn't have time to think about much Tbh. still can't quite believe it!

hoping to get home soon and introduce my boys!

GenericDietCola · 18/04/2012 10:29

Oh Jaggy well done! And thanks for making space for one more TTCer on the thread! X

McPopcornMouseNFries · 18/04/2012 10:36

Well done jaggy! Which CD do you have jaggy? I'm thinking of getting one...

My maternity jeans have just arrived from DP and they are sooooo comfy I'm considering getting a second pair as I can see myself wearing little else Blush

musicalmrs · 18/04/2012 10:48

Jaggy, that sounds wonderful! How lovely to be nearly fully dilated by the time you get to the hospital - saves all that waiting around Grin. Glad it all happened so quickly - a true brooking sneeze birth if ever there was one :)

Hope the introduction goes wonderfully :)

Popcorn, I have several items of maternity clothing I've worn over and over (namely some New Jook jeans, a Jojo Maman Bebe skirt and a couple of tops from various places). I didn't buy much so what I have got is very well worn! So I'd say go for that second pair.. Grin

jaggythistle · 18/04/2012 11:00

i had the pregnancy relaxation one and the birth preparation one - vbac for me.

McPopcornMouseNFries · 18/04/2012 11:00

I was just going to get the one pair and make do with cheap joggers when at home, but they're sooooo much more comfy I might have to! :)

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 18/04/2012 12:18

Jaggy forceps with only a local! Shock Wow. The No Brooking force is strong with you... Grin

Pretty please can we have stats on the gorgeous new baby? Also, how are you? Did you end up with an episiotomy? No Brooking for a swift and easy recovery! How is bfing going?

Popcorn I may have bought rubbish maternity jeans, but I found mine increasingly annoying as I got bigger. Not uncomfortable exactly, they just had a tendency to slip down all the time (they are under the bump rather than over). I bought some super soft super comfy joggers from GAP which weren't expensive plus they were on sale, and I've lived in those. I found the elastic waistband actually clings really well to my hips without putting pressure on the bottom part of my bump. Whereas I need a belt to make my jeans stay up under my bump, and that's so uncomfortable on my bump when I sit down!

Just had my last (Shock) mw appt, and I've had a huge growth spurt! The last few weeks I've been 2 or 3 weeks behind in terms of fundal height. Right up until last week when I measured 35 cm/weeks at 37+4 gestation. Exactly one week later I now measure 38 cm/weeks at 38+4! Three weeks' worth of growth in one week!! My baby was already measuring ahead of dates on the growth scan (at 36 weeks gestation the ultrasound showed a baby measuring 38 weeks even though at that point my fundal height only measured 33 cm/weeks) so my baby must be HUGE by now! I'm still blaming DH and his 10lbs birth weight...

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 18/04/2012 12:30

Has anyone seen Scarlet since last night?! We don't yet have definitive proof that the No Brooking boy/girl pattern has been broken....

NinjaChipmunk · 18/04/2012 12:38

woohoo!! Go jaggy go! Congrats on the birth of ds2. How lovely.
scream maybe you'll be next if she's had a growth spurt......
wants glad to hear dn is doing ok, let us know any updates for the wee man.

Stacks · 18/04/2012 12:56

Congratulations Jaggy hope the recovery goes quickly. I can't imagine forceps with only a local! Were you in labour long at the end, why did they resort to forceps? I've watched about a million maternity/birth programs, I hope it wasn't as bad as it looks on those.

Biscuitsandtea · 18/04/2012 13:08

Jaggy were you doing a VBAC or have I made that up? Is it Ninja perhaps? Confused

Sounds like you did awesomely though - and just a local! Scream is right, the brooking force is strong in you!

I've just been for an appt at the hospital that Scarlet and I were booked in to and had to walk back to the car past the labour ward - I did keep a good eye out for her but didn't see her Grin

BartletForAmerica · 18/04/2012 13:12

Congratulations Jaggy!

scarletfingernail · 18/04/2012 13:57

No sadly I've not been on the labour ward, I'm still hanging on. Grin

Jaggy! Shock Shock Shock
CONGRATULATIONS! Well done on the sneeze birth Thanks
Love the way you made the announcement Grin. Did you have any warning signs (apart from the knicker jelly) yesterday? Or was it just full blown labour straight off like on the tv?

Oooh so now Jaggy took my place I'm thinking that Scream might too. Any signs Scream? I've been having lots of tightenings and pains but they're not turning into anything more than that.

Good to hear your nephew's doing well Wants

OP posts:
ScrambledSmegs · 18/04/2012 14:03

Congratulations jaggy! A very impressive sneeze birth story, am very jealous!

Thanks
ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 18/04/2012 14:20

No signs here I'm afraid. Everything vanished right after I got my date.

For those unafraid of TMI - there's been lots of pant snot, and lots of my body 'clearing itself out' but that's been going on for over a week now. I did have BHs for the first time in ages this morning, but they're still at a level where I don't know they're happening unless I happen to touch my stomach at the right moment, I never actually feel the tightening internally.

I think the baby's massive growth spurt is finished now though (I'm not as constantly hungry as I was last week!) so there is a part of me wondering if my body now views the baby as "ready to go"...

musicalmrs · 18/04/2012 15:31

Scream - wow, growth spurt sounds good! I found out at the weekend that DH's birthweight was around 7lbs - so I'm feeling a bit more reassured. I've been bang on fundal height throughout pregnancy apparently, and they don't think my LO is tooo massive, so yours might be fine! :)

Scarlet, I'm sure you'll be next :) Tightenings and pains are a good sign at least?

Another question if I may, lovely brookers? the top of my bump is very painful (i.e. the 4-5 inches under my boobs). Very sensitive - hurting when I sneeze, cough etc. I'm guessing it might be over-stretched skin? It aches a bit in general, but is very very sensitive to touch. Any suggestions? I'm going to madly moisturise it for the rest of the day, and I've put a bump band on which seems to be helping a bit, but it's still quite uncomfortable!

cakes82 · 18/04/2012 16:53

Wow! Jaggy Serious sneeze birth with your LO Congratulations!!

On a separate note I learnt today that there are 7 ladies pg at my workplace, granted 4 gave birth within about 3wks of each other. There has got to be something in the water or air. We all work in slightly different buildings so its not a specific chair or anything like that.
