re moses stands, we had a rocking stand for DS and it was perfectly safe, and proved a godsend as he was a nightmare to get to sleep, and the rocking motion helped along with a hot water bottle (later turned out he had reflux which is why he was happy to sleep upright on me forever but would wake screaming the second we tried to put him in the basket!) but he outgrew the basket by 11 weeks so we then bought a glider crib from mothercare, again the rocking was very much needed by DS, but i guess some babies don't need rocking.

re jelly jaggy i lost a lot of my plug at 35 weeks exactly, and went into labour 38+5 and DS was born 38+6. i remember the midwife saying if you do lose some early, your body is able to make some more, so no guarantee that it means labour is imminent.

can't speak swedish etc, but can also do cat and chicken talk, and would probably manage to order something i'd like from a french menu.

wants really hope your DN is ok, if it is any comfort, he is in one of the best places he could be, friends of ours lost their little boy to cancer last year, but they were full of praise for the care he received at GOSH and for everything they did for him, it is an amazing hospital with so many experts there, but must be worrying for you and your family all the same.

scarletfingernail · 16/04/2012 19:51

Was just putting DS to bed and he told me that the baby is going to come out of my belly button. Someone else must have said this to him as we haven't. So then he said he wanted to have a look. He pulled up my top and started talking into my belly button. Then said "Look! There's the baby's finger! The baby's finger's coming out!" He meant the little stumpy bit I've got inside it Grin

Aww! Kids are adorable. I wanted to tell my DN I had a baby in my tummy, just to see what he would say. Didn't though, he might tell everyone!

Stacks · 16/04/2012 20:51

Also, Wants loads of brooking for your DN. Whenever I think of mine I wonder about yours. How old is he?

NinjaChipmunk · 16/04/2012 21:18

lots of brooking for your DN wants

I came on here with lots to say but seem to have forgotten lots of it. scream enjoy your lovely sounding biirthday treat, glad it got you to a better frame of mind.
We do seem to be ramping slowly up to some more babies arriving, how exciting. Lets hope some more jelly plugs are shed just at the right moment!
And with that thought I'm off....DP has to get up stupidly early for a flight somewhere so an early night for us..

farfallarocks · 17/04/2012 09:18

wants brooking for your DN.

I have not weighed myself yet, I have definitely put on a bit of weight as I am eating every 3 hours!

Actually feeling a lot better now at 11 weeks, did anyone else feel their symptoms diminish at this stage? I am obviously now panicking that it means something is wrong. Wibble wibble!!

McPopcornMouseNFries · 17/04/2012 09:21

Hi far :) Mine disappeared about then too, though I didn't have MS anyway - don't worry. Can't be long til your scan, either?

I have a cold :( Apparently I was snoring like a tractor last night, DH slept in the spare room Shock Blush

McPopcornMouseNFries · 17/04/2012 09:37

Guess what came this morning? Pretty dress for my hollibobs (when I'll be 23 weeks) BNWT from ebay so cheap cheap cheap! :o

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 17/04/2012 10:18

Morning all!

Scarlet your DS sounds so cute!

Popcorn that dress is gorgeous! None of my maternity wardrobe is anywhere near as nice! What does 'BNWT' mean?

Farfalla I found that my symptoms fluctuated towards the end of the first tri, so I'd have a couple of good days which would totally freak me out and then all the symptoms would come rushing back! I'm not saying yours haven't gone for good, they might have. I'm just saying there's nothing consistent about symptoms, so don't let a sudden improvement worry you! Easier said than done I know! We are all No Brooking for you and looking forward to a great 12 week scan!!

Wants I do hope the doctors were able to resolve your DN's complications quickly and easily last night. Still No Brooking for a swift recovery. Your poor sister as well, I hope there was some rest for all your family last night.

McPopcornMouseNFries · 17/04/2012 10:23

Brand New With Tags :)

Any news on your newphew, wants?

NinjaChipmunk · 17/04/2012 10:35

far you're 11 weeks already Shock thats gone so fast! and you pop, yours is going fast too! Lovely dress by the way.
Boo to todays weather, having a pyjama and telly morning with ds. Think we might do some baking this afternoon. But what to bake......??

Any news wants?

Biscuitsandtea · 17/04/2012 10:48

Any news Wants? Thinking of you?

Ninja I've had a thread going in recipes this morning for nice gooey chocolate crispie cake recipes as I am having some sort of post-pregnancy craving for them! You could make me some of those? Although technically there's not any actual baking involved.....

I've bought ds1 to a children's class at our gym and I'm sat in the cafe with ds2 Blush. I'm just so tired after my all-night party (Hmm) last night so I've sort of outsourced my parenting for 90 mins Blush.

I guess it's not that different to taking him to a soft play, it's just that someone else has to watch him.....

I think I'm going to go to bed at the same time as the boys tonight Blush. Now I wonder if they'd notice if I laid down on this sofa and had a nap?

Hope everyone else is well. I'm kinda twiddling my thumbs though waiting for one of you to pop a baby out to insert some excitement into my life Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 17/04/2012 10:49

Oh and a gorgeous dress Popster

I wish you'd been around to source my maternity wardrobe Grin

McPopcornMouseNFries · 17/04/2012 11:17

:o at outsourced parenting!

jenfraggle · 17/04/2012 11:18

Well I'm still not even slightly engaged Biscuits so will be a while yet. HB was 144 today, first time it's been written down rather than just heard.

I've started packing bags, so far have nappies and clothes for Spud and my washbag including Lansinoh for me.

Wants3 · 17/04/2012 12:07

DN was taken back into theatre first thing this morning but haven't heard anything yet! cakes he is 6 months so still just a dot:(
Jen I have also been packing my bag and one of the first things in my wash bag was a tube of lansinoh! I have also packed a large bag of giant chocolate buttons so I think I have the essentials covered :)
I have still been having lots of bhs but more of them are under my bump and 'down below' rather than higher up where I used to feel them.
I am at home today, working on my essay but it is slow going as I can't sit at the computer for too long as it gets very uncomfortable especially when baby starts kicking! ( I am currently on sofa with iPad after 2 hours of work)

Stacks · 17/04/2012 12:21

Wants I hope you hear some good news soon.

Biscuitsandtea · 17/04/2012 12:41

Stacks - Lansinoh is an expensive, but well worth it nipple cream for bf. About £9 a tube or something it's a lot more than others but seems to get the best reviews, and you don't need to remove it / wipe it off before feeding again.

I know it's a way off yet, but I use it pre-emptively after every feed to prevent soreness.

I love it Smile

jaggythistle · 17/04/2012 12:42

i only remembered to pack my lansinoh yesterday, it was sitting usefully in the cupboard! my bag has stashes of mini jaffa cakes oat biscuits and big bar of chocolate. also energy sweet things that i forgot i had last time. (not the same packs as last time!)i didn't really want to eat during labour, am mostly thinking about afterwards this time! need to do my bag of extra stuff in case of staying in. got quite a lot in my big backpack though and most of baby stuff in my change bag.

I'm getting lower down pains too wants, hopefully it's some cervix preparation going on or something...

hope you hear about poor wee DN soon.

farfallarocks · 17/04/2012 12:42

ninja not to me I can assure you, it has felt like slow torture!!! The last 2 weeks has gone quickly though :)

Thanks for the reassurance on lessening of symptoms, very reassuring indeed.

Scan is next Thurs.

I am very impressed with all your lack of weight gain, I have not ventured onto the scales yet but my norks must weigh at least a kilo each more.
they are also covered in blue veins, grim
wants brooking hard for DN

Biscuitsandtea · 17/04/2012 12:46

wants - brooking for good news from your dn xx

Labour bag packers - drinks wise I found those sports drinks were good - not the sugary ones like proper lucozade (that'll give you sugar rushes and crashes). I've forgotten the term for them. Lucozade sort is one - oh I know they're isotonic drinks Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 17/04/2012 12:54

I meant lucozade sport is one!

jaggythistle · 17/04/2012 15:18

ok need a bit of help from you lovely ladies. we're having a wee name flap so i have done a stealth namechangey thread. i am v paranoid about being spotted on here so i quite often try to be a bit vague with this username!

it's the thread near the top mentioning when I'm due if you have a minute to pretend not to know it's me!

jenfraggle · 17/04/2012 15:28

I'm confused, where is the thread?
