I am proud of my iron fanjo, only a little graze! I have decided that I am given a fantastic second stage to counteract the 1st!!! My 3rd stage was really great too. I will write it when I feel a bit less, tired and moody about it all.

Oh but fuck me crowning hurts like a motherfucker!!! More on that later. 7 min second stage this time, any of you RLT doubters lol also clary sage is good for this too.

Not settled on a name just yet, I like to see how it grows on us. Oh and my 7 1/2lber measuring 49.5 cm, so not dinky does not fit newborn at all! Completely hanging off him, so I definitely recommend Early baby size, DH is buying more. Also, powerade isotonic drink, and cathedral city do a snack pack; cheese, pickle and crackers and they are perfect for hospital snacks!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/03/2012 16:54

Oh congratulations Purple - so please to hear from you Smile

Sorry the birth wasn't what you'd hoped for though.

I think it's a boy thing with the lazy mouth not opening Grin. Mine is the same - it's as if he's saying 'well I've opened it a teeny bit - cant you do the rest?' After our latch probs with DS1 though I've been really firm about making sure he latches on properly (or at least as well as I can get him to) but I often find especially at night, he'll try a few 'lazy latches' and then just can't be bothered to try properly. My milk being in though and a few days practice I think have given him a little more incentive and we're doing ok (I think!)

I'm sure with your knowledge and expertise you'll have him eating like a pro in no time Smile.

I totally hear you on the 'not sharing' front too - I just can't get enough of these cuddles. Glad your MIL is being good though.

Anyway, lovely to hear from you, keep resting. If you had a long labour you've been through the mill so be good to yourself xx

Biscuitsandtea · 12/03/2012 16:57

Oooh cheese would have been a good hospital snack! We had isotonic drinks too - cracking Smile. Better than regular lucozade as it didn't make your sugar levels peak and dip.

I need to work out all those of things I'm allowed now and indulge! What are the things I'm still not allowed while bf does anyone know?

Imps7 · 12/03/2012 16:57

Arg, I just found myself mentalling making a list of all the snacks I'm going to take to hospital with me when I give birth. Nothing like being slightly prematurely organised!

How many name options do you have Purple - is it between two or are there more? Ooooooh I'm so pleased that he's here, safe and sound!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/03/2012 16:58

Envy of your iron fanjo Purple.

I think mine Is mainly constructed of wet tissue paper Sad

musicalmrs · 12/03/2012 16:59

Purple, congratulations on the arrival of your son! :) I hope you're enjoying your newborn snuggles!

Sorry to hear the birth wasn't exactly as you'd planned, but so glad MIL is being wonderful and that DD is wonderful with DS! :)

jenfraggle · 12/03/2012 17:00

Congratulations Purple.

Sorry that the birth didn't go to plan but very glad to hear that you are ok, I was starting to get a bit worried about you.

BartletForAmerica · 12/03/2012 17:10

Great news, Purple. Although it wasn't the birth you wanted, remember that the outcome was wonderfully positive with the little boy now snuggling in your arms. You've done a great job!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 12/03/2012 17:11

Sorry Biscuits :(
12 hrs induction, most of it was me trying to delay things and them bullying me
:( Oh and that is from having my waters broken not the two sweeps.etc before that!

Thank you, I feel so tired I am not thinking particularly straight! Spent most of last night feeding, winding A LOT as latch is not great and necking painkillers, 60mg of codeine and paracetamol. Just had paracetamol since 6am and hoping I am over the hump that was in so much pain I needed the codeine!

Biscuits just some fish your not supposed to eat, any thing else go for it!

PopcornMouseInBoots · 12/03/2012 17:13

Yay Purple! Massive congratulations! Sorry the birth didn't go as planned, but it's lovely to hear you've come out of it with minimal damage, as it were - both happy and healthy :)

Biscuitsandtea · 12/03/2012 17:21

scarletfingernail · 12/03/2012 17:24

Woooooooooooooohooooooooooooo Purple

Congratulations on the arrival of your little boy, brilliant news Thanks

Sorry to hear you didn't get the birth you were hoping for, you did absolutely everything you could to get your sneeze birth. I hope you're able to feel a little better about it all once you've recovered. Looking forward to hearing your birth story when you get chance.

NinjaChipmunk · 12/03/2012 17:40

Fab news purple, congratulations! On. phone on bus so be back later. It's too wobbly on here.

Wants3 · 12/03/2012 18:25

Congratulations purple ( glad to see these brooking babies are still following the girl/ boy pattern :) ) I hope you can start to feel better about the birth experience soon. Enjoy your quiet few days before visitors decend and remember, he is yours, you don't have to share just yet if you don't want to!

jaggythistle · 12/03/2012 18:53

TheLittleFriend · 12/03/2012 20:18

Congratulations purple Thanks

Lovely to hear you're enjoying your beautiful blue bundle.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 12/03/2012 20:19

Pomme I asked if my butt was turning inside out. Blush
(Before THE CROWNING) MW said she couldn't see lol
Thank you everyone :)

DreamingOfPeace · 12/03/2012 20:41

Oh well done you purple and congratulations to you all!!!! Totally agree baby purple just needs mummy, daddy, boob and clean bottom, don't pass him round :-) I've missed you. I think I even dreamt of you (I wanted some wallpaper like yours and a posh bag...bizarre pg dream no.27896)

Induction is Shit. That is all. (Oh, and crowning!)

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 12/03/2012 22:50

Hooray for Purple and little Boy Blue! Fantastic news! Must have been v scary having to be induced on the spot, but thank goodness all is well.

It is bliss being home and having access to a proper computer with proper internet that doesn't waver in and out of signal! It is also bliss not to pg any more. CS stitches are nothing compared to the heartburn, SPD, heaviness and general discomfort of pregnancy. Unless that's just the drugs...

I got home yesterday and so far, so good. Is a feed of 15 mins followed by 2-3 hours sleep good? I am scared Bean isn't eating enough. The community MW said the house was too cold, so it is now roasting and Bean is all pink - how do I know if she gets too hot?

Hope everyone is doing well - Scream, have you had more movement yet? Hope the consultant can set your mind at rest tomorrow. Biscuits, I have existed almost exclusively off cheese, pate and oatcakes for the last 2 days, with the odd glass of Wine thrown in.

Right, birth story to follow.

DreamingOfPeace · 12/03/2012 23:23

Hi too, yes a feed of 15 min plus two hours sleep is good, well done you. If she's content and goes to sleep after her grub I'd say milk-sated content baby there. She'll be weighed soon anyway, and losing a bit is totally normal. My friends two babies were both speed-feeders and from.birth never spent more than 10 min on the boob, where dd went through growth spurts where she was never off it. Both grew fine, so no hard and fast rule. Dd always has her room around 20 degrees. Our monitor tells us the temp :-) she now just wears babygro and sleeping bag but when a little baby wore a vest too. To tell how hot/cold she is just slip a finger down front or back if her clothing and feel her back/chest. Should be nice and warm, not clammy and sticky or too cool iykwim. We ran an electric heater in the room we were in to heat that up without flogging our heating doing whole house in our much colder old house. Don't know if any of that helps!

DreamingOfPeace · 12/03/2012 23:25

And before anyone days, not a fan heater and with thermostat (so drove me crackers all night coming on and off maintaining temp)
