Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Nordicmom · 29/02/2012 22:23

Thanks for everyone's kind words:) !
Also we're having a girl too. I guess that's missing from the list ...
23. April Nordicmom (36) London, DS -7y , a girl on the way

Nordicmom · 29/02/2012 22:44

... Think we've finally come up with a third name for the baby after my brother ( well a girly Finnish version of it )! Btw it seems that I'm the one doing the naming in our family since all 3 DS names and now 3 future DD names are my suggestions:) DH just says no, no with DS and now just yes the first time to all DD names ...
I had morning ( all day) sickness for the whole pregnancy with DS every waiting moment so had a hellish pregnancy . Can sympathise!

Nordicmom · 29/02/2012 22:46

Waking moment...

Uglymush · 29/02/2012 23:15

Hi Just a quick post to say that I had my consultant appointment today and they will induce me early for 'social' reasons :) Very pleased but a little nervous. Due to finish work on the 23rd and go into hospital on the 25th, so in theory in less than 4 weeks I should be a mummy - argh!! DH is very pleased to hear he can be at the birth, but not keen to learn it gives an increased risk of c section. Fingers crossed all goes well.

riamay2011 · 29/02/2012 23:19

Ladies.......!!
Here you all are! Im doing ok my hind waters are slowly leaking. I have a section booked for 5th april if i dont labour before but baby is fully engaged!!! Dr thinks ill get to around 37-38 weeks.
Im shattred as DD of 10 m is still waking in the night :(

Night night ladies....
Xx

VintageNancy · 01/03/2012 01:24

I'm on my phone and can't remember everyone's updates to reply to them but hope those that are feeling crap get some sleep tonight. And those nesting remember to rest too!
Nordic great news on the date!

5 weeks today to my due date! Just noticed there are 4 of us due the same day! Exciting :).

I'm completely shattered today. Just asked DH if he'll come and help with the grocery shopping as can't face it on my own. Hope I'm more perky tomorrow as meeting a new friend for lunch and baby stuff shopping.

Time for an evening snooze I think! Smile Catch up with you all tomorrow.

VintageNancy · 01/03/2012 01:25

riamay we were wondering about you. Hope you're managing to get some rest.

Scoobysue · 01/03/2012 02:46

yummymummyobe1 yes I too have a return of the all day sickness thing. Forgotten how much fun feeling green from head to toe felt :( Also having trouble sleeping hence 2:45am post!!

digitalgirl · 01/03/2012 13:29

riamay glad all is well despite the leak. Can I ask how obviously are you leaking? I've been quite 'damp' lately but assumed it was increased watery CM as it definitely doesn't smell of wee, doesn't have much smell at all.

nordic how lovely to have your date now! Not long till you get your baby. It's been such a long road for you, I bet it feels like time has suddenly speeded up now. Definitely feels that way for me.

uglymush well done on getting your early induction. Hope it all goes well.

My sympathies to those with a return of the nausea. I'm getting it a little bit, usually around lunchtime but eating lots helps.

Urgh, am wearing my under-the-bump jeggings today for this first time in a week and bump is now so low that its cutting in really painfully.

Made a bit more progress with the hospital bag last night. Just need to pack going home clothes for me, swaddle blanket, toiletries, snacks, drinks, change for parking, camera and TENS machine.

Almost all baby stuff is washed now. This weekend is for cleaning the moses basket and sheepskin liner. Really should get the cot down and see if we can steam clean the mattress, but just don't want it cluttering up the bedroom just yet.

I finish work TWO WEEKS TODAY!!!!!!

Bananna1 · 01/03/2012 13:59

Digitalgirl and any one else who is organised and washed their baby clothes - have you used just your normal washing powder or have you used non-biological? I can't remember what I did last time.

Very exciting all of you who have impending dates, yaaaaaaaay!

WhenDoISleep · 01/03/2012 14:07

Bananna1 I haven't washed the baby clothes yet, but I will (and did last time) use a non-bio, with no softener.

digitalgirl · 01/03/2012 14:17

We washed all the clothes before we put them away, so didn't see the need to wash with non-bio again. Put a bit of handwash in the dispenser (like Woolite, stuff you use for handwashing clothes) for things that were in the loft, or bought new.

LaTristesse · 01/03/2012 14:18

So I tested positive for GD Sad

I'm gutted, feel like a failure, have gone from positive and excited about my birth to scared and dreading it.

DH is away until tomorrow, although he doesn't really (nor do most people tbh) understand why I'm so upset about 'losing' my planned natural / normal birth. I know it's nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it mattered so much to me... Sad, sorry...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/03/2012 15:38

Bananna I used non-bio, but then I always use non-bio anyway as I have psoriasis...

Oh LaTris :( You're not a failure! And your birth could still go really well, GD isn't a guarantee that it'll be completely medicalised. I mean, I guess that at term you'd be induced (?), but there's weeks to go yet where labour could well start earlier on its own. Plus even if you are induced, that's not a guarantee that you'll have to have more intervention :(

My midwife has been out today to book my homebirth I've been cleaning all morning so she didnt say the house wasnt appropriate!! ... My entinox is ordered and will be here next week. Told her I'd got an official diagnosis of AND from the doctor and she gave me a cuddle. I have to be booked in for a cardiac scan now though as I'm on ADs. Plus, I get an extra scan to make sure DS2 isn't breech before a homebirth (didnt know I'd get that!)

Just doing my lunch now, DS will be back soon and I haven't sat down in all the time he's been gone.

Flisspaps · 01/03/2012 15:49

Beyond I didn't get an extra scan last time to check presentation (DD was supposed to be a homebirth but she didn't fancy it).

LaTristesse I'm not stalking you (honest) - you're not a failure.

Bananna1 I've not even bothered washing the clothes this time. They were put away nice and clean, they're coming out of the cases nice and clean. Haven't bothered getting any non bio this time, but DD had her own special box when she was born.

VintageNancy · 01/03/2012 16:41

LaT just to echo, you're not a failure. x

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 01/03/2012 17:07

My midwife herself said its pretty much pointless cause they do it at 37w, which could easily leave the baby another 5 weeks to turn back around anyway, and that's ignoring the fact that they could turn from one hour to the next! Grin

Bananna1 · 01/03/2012 19:35

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll buy some non bio to wash all the stuff I've been given.

Sorry to hear your news LaT, but again, to echo, hopefully things will still turn out how you've envisaged. That's the horrible thing about childbirth, none of us know what's going to happen, even if we've been there before! My worry is my age this time and lack of energy and fitness. We shall see!

marshmallowpies · 01/03/2012 20:48

Everything in my house gets washed in non-bio anyway, the joys of eczema :(

All the 'nearly new' clothes I've been given look like they've all been washed recently, so I haven't done anything with them. Sheets and bedding have all been washed, I'd probably at least better wash the newborn stuff.

Sorry for anyone having stresses. I am currently working myself into a state about forceps, that seems to be my one big dread. I haven't really been 'scared' about birth up till now, but it's starting to hit me now.

justhayley · 01/03/2012 22:30

Hi ladies,
Can I be put on the list please.
Justhayley (27) Ds1 due April 28th

Starting to enjoy pregnancy less now, iv been lucky have a nice neat bump & havnt had complications, but starting to feel uncomfortable, heavy, breathless & a bit sick tonight. Baby feels really strong which I no is good but it hurts when he kicks me in the ribs which usually starts when im trying to get sleep.
Really looking forward to baby coming but def starting to have enough of being pregnant now - 8 weeks left seems like a lifetime

JambalayaCodfishPie · 02/03/2012 05:11

Can't sleeeeeeep! Sad

OP posts:
Tinwe · 02/03/2012 06:10

Me neither, been awake on and off all night coughing and now am fully awake :(

VintageNancy · 02/03/2012 06:20

I haven't gone to bed yet Grin
Not being able to sleep sucks, I can sympathise. It's my hips that cause me problems at night. Guess I should head off soon and try to sleep though as it's getting late.

aprilfoolsbaby · 02/03/2012 06:49

I can't sleep either. Aghhhhhh. It's the thimble bladder that does it. I'm back and forward to the loo about 8 times a night.

Typing on my phone and can't remember everyone's names to comment (there's so many posts these days!) but I hope everyone is well. The lighter mornings and nights are arriving and everything seems so much nicer.

I started ml this week and have already decorated the nursery, washed the baby clothes (in non bio) cleaned the house from top to bottom and quite frankly exhausted myself!

We have another issue in that I have a job interview on 19th march. The first date they gave me was 30th march (due 1st) but i managed to change it. The interview is to transfer to a different area doing the same job and would make a huge difference to us as we would be able to live close to all of our family. Being on ml is not a problem as my start date would be deferred, but I was so looking forward to relaxing over the next few weeks and now I feel stressed out. I'll be waddling into the interview and am worried I won't be able to string a sentence together! I've tried planning for it but my concentration span is about 5 minutes. I would rather do the interview before the baby arrives and at least they didn't tell me it was next week, but has anyone else ever been in this situation?

Hope you are all well and not feeling too sick x

SandyChick · 02/03/2012 07:54

I've been up with a poorly ds1 since 4am cleaning up vomit. Hope we both get a nap soon. The neighbours will think I'm mad- already have washing out in the line.

In general tho I'm feeling really good (35+1). I'm trying to enjoy this last bit because it may be the last time I'm pregnant Sad. Dh would like another but I'm not too sure. I don't think asking a women when she's 9 months pregnant if she wants another is the best time to decide!
