I'm here!! [bugrin]

My strange throbbing pain is in my side, kind of just above my left hip.

I'm comfort eating now. My third Boost in 24 hours and a glass of Pepsi (have already drunk an entire bottle of Fanta. Am so thirsty!!)

marshmallowpies · 07/04/2012 14:36

Congratulations to vicky and EI32, I am a bit behind with keeping up with who has popped :) and spanner hope you are doing OK back at home.

Thanks for all the good wishes about the ECV...it really wasn't very nice :( ...unfortunately after I typed that sitting in the hospital bed, being monitored, she began wriggling like mad under the straps and we think she has ended up back exactly where she was before.

So this means most likely a CS next week, as I'll be 39 weeks by then. Blood sugar levels tested after I'd had a meal at hospital were fine, so no GD at least...and am feeling excited that we hopefully get to meet DD next week!!

Pitmountain - I saw your comment on another thread too, really hope things calm down for you and you get plenty of support & help from family/friends over the next few days.

I feel so glad my DH is a very calm & chilled person, I've never seen him lose his temper (although I know when he's in a bit of a grump as he just goes quiet & introverted for a while!). He really has been my rock through this whole ECV business and I feel so fortunate to have him. Although we have both acknowledged we will probably snap at each other at some point over the next few weeks so we have apologised in advance for anything we may say... :)

Emsgale · 07/04/2012 14:41

hello ladies well its my due date today and no buba even though I had hugh hooes as dd was 7 days, early but hey ho like fisspaps said at least everyday that passes is a guarntee we will meet our babies soon!!

CruciFlisspaps · 07/04/2012 14:59

I bought my bras on ebay. They look like they'll double up nicely as a hammock for twins if anyone is after such a thing? They cost me £6 for two and when they turned up they were actually Mothercare ones, not just generic tat that I was expecting.

marshmallowpies If your DD has turned again, there's obviously a reason for it - even if the Drs don't know what it is!

digitalgirl I hear you on the boots. I was stunned how uncomfortable mine had become in the last week after being in my birkenstocks all last week in the sun.

No strange throbbing in my back, but this baby is so far down that I feel that I am continually going to wet myself. Anyone on the other thread (the please convince me it's not long to go now one) will have seen that I've had a bit of pant snot over the last few days but no contractions have been forthcoming, had a few BH as normal but other than that...sod all. Still, got another 11 days to go yet, you can't rush these things Grin

Pitmountainpony · 07/04/2012 15:31

Thanks marshmallow. You know it had just happened when I responded on that other post and the thing is my dh is also very chilled but for some reason he really snaps when you ask him to do lots of things in a row......of course after c. Section you are really immobile and have to ask........for just about everything. The fact our baby arrived early did not help as the house was not as straight as it could be and after 3 days in hospital my son had pulled lots of stuff out and of course without mum there to clear up .......there was lots of stuff lying about which of course as a mum ou just know is going to trip up your dc ......but my dh does not see anything like that so has to be asked to do what I think are the most obvious things......normally I just do them.....I guess no one likes being micro managed but I have not been able to do those little things myself.
Anyway I got an apology and he said he thinks all the sugar he has been eating has made him grumpy.....but of course partners should not shout and be aggressive to their wives surgery or no surgery...we all must deal with our weaknesses and those of those close to us as well as we can.
I have had my first good nights sleep since baby born 7 nights ago....bliss
To everyone waiting.....put your feet up and relax if you can and sleepand get your house straight .

Marshmallow if you have the c section...I did....the recovery is much easier this time with it being planned so that is a good thing.......lots of cold flannels and something to scratch yourself with as I found the I v painkillers made me really itchy.....common reaction apparently. It was heaven to put ice on flannels under my back , on my face......anywhere my dh could reach......the nurse said she was going to suggest the hairbrush technique to future itchy patients........it was honestly the most divine relief...but fingers crossed you will not get the itchy reaction!! You are meeting baby soon....yeah !!!!!
Thinking of everyone pending...the last bit is always a struggle physically......but babies are so close for everyone now.

Pitmountainpony · 07/04/2012 15:33

Sorry mm I do not know what an E c v is but glad it is behind you now.

marshmallowpies · 07/04/2012 16:51

pitmountain ECV is the medical term for turning the baby manually. Something cephalic version.

It was very painful & so frustrating to feel her wriggling back round into her comfy position literally minutes after it was done! Once breech babies are turned they usually stay in head down position, we clearly have quite a unique one here.

spannermary · 07/04/2012 17:11

Marshmallow - if it makes you feel any better I did exactly the same to my mum! Flipped round beautifully by the doctor, and then spun back to breech in the car on the way home...

That's a special little girl you've got there! :)

Bananna1 · 07/04/2012 17:21

Just won a Mothercare bra for £3.50 on ebay, so even if it doesn't fit, haven't wasted any money. Bid on a lovely Bravissimo one, but got to wait a few days to see if it's mine. Thanks ladies. All so exciting now on here!!

JambalayaCodfishPie · 07/04/2012 18:53

Hey ladies.

Am feeling really sorry for myself today, just don't feel 'right' at all.

Not labour, just 'meh'. Been on the sofa all day, scrapped the roast chicken idea for tea and gave DD a ham sandwich instead!

My moods are all over the place too.

Really want a bath, I'm comfortable and relaxed there, but I've already had a bath and a shower today, don't know if I can justify another.

Ah well. Bedtime soon I think. Grin

OP posts:
CruciFlisspaps · 07/04/2012 19:14

Jambalaya You're heavily pregnant. You need no further justification to have another bath if you want one, especially if you're comfy there.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 07/04/2012 19:26

I agree, get in the bath. My hot water is a pita and only fills half the bath at a time, otherwise I'd have another one too!! It's only really comfy when the bath is full, so I have to choose between a lukewarm comfy bath or a hot but not very comfy bath...

Mum and dad just picked up DS, so me and DH had some early sex. Will try to get a round two in before sleep tonight, or in the morning at least [bugrin]
Really hanging now, but don't want to doze after the trouble I had sleeping last night. Plus maybe if I'm already knackered it'll be typical that I'll be up all night labouring...?

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 07/04/2012 19:28

Btw Jam, I only had to provide DS with one meal today as he's been at my parents. He had a fish finger and some cheese in a bagel... [bublush]

JambalayaCodfishPie · 07/04/2012 19:32

Aww, just made me well up, you two being nice. Sad

Silly pregnant lady! Smile

Hello all,

Feeling like I might pop at any minute and have a bowling ball between my legs at the moment. COme on baby. xx

justhayley · 07/04/2012 21:47

OMG yummymummy so exciting. Every time you post Harry could come any day it reminds me how close i am to meeting mine as well Smile - matching due dates, although think ul deff be a few weeks before me, I havnt even had a braxton hick! Set yourself up a live birth thread so I can book my seat Grin

spannermary · 08/04/2012 07:57

Happy Easter everyone! Put your feet up & enjoy an egg or 2!

I shall be relaxing at home and thoroughly expecting today to pass without incident, despite it being my due date!

Feel like my boobs have suddenly got bigger though...wonder if that means anything Smile

HollyPockett · 08/04/2012 08:09

Bah, I feel rubbish today :(

Been up in the night with a really bad tummy and been to the toilet about 5 times. Now awake and feel sick as a dog, backntonthatbever present nausea I had in the first trimester. The Diva is wriggling all over the place so I'm hoping it's her getting ready to make her entrance and not me being ill.

jambalaya did the bath help?

Hope you're all having a lovely Easter, and yummymummy here's hoping Harry arrives soon too!

Jellybellyrbest · 08/04/2012 08:28

Morning All! I too am due today but as DD2 was 10 days early, expected to be reading the PN thread by now! I read avidly daily but don't post v much...love hearing e'one's news and helps to know I'm not the only one in this position! Have awful oedema in my hands and feet and just wondered if anyone knows any tricks to relieve the carpal tunnel symptoms?? REally bad this morning, my fingers are like sausages and just won't work. Numb tingly hands and sore elbows...have had ketones ++ in my wee past couple MW visits and have been told to drink Isotonic drinks and bring for labour. I am drinking a good bit of water but it's moving into my tissues instead of staying centrally it seems! Never had this in either pregnancy before.

Jellybellyrbest · 08/04/2012 08:28

PS Happy Easter!!

Emsgale · 08/04/2012 08:36

happy easter everyone I wonder who will get there lil easter bunnies today?!

I have a feeling my buba is far to comfy in there! 40+1 I really dont want to get induced so hopfully I will go into natural labour?!

when do they generally book induction my midwife said they will look at giving me a induction date at my 41 appt but ill be 42 on a sat would they make me wait til the monday??!!

confuzed90 · 08/04/2012 08:50

Happy easter everyone! Make sure you eat all the easter eggs for two! That's my excuse as to why I've got some :D because he's technically a baby, so a child so therefore deserves chocolate on easter. Even of it through mummy :D

JambalayaCodfishPie · 08/04/2012 09:04

Happy Easter!

HollyPockett It did! In fact, I feel much better all round today!

Cant explain it, just feel far more comfortable in the bath - although it probrably helps that said bath is huge and jacuzzi style! Grin

Wouldnt mind, but I've not even got a big bump. Ive put on next to no weight and it measures about four weeks behind - goodness knows what I'd be like if I actually resembled a pregnant lady - I may not have moved at all for the past month! Grin

Anyone going to give us an Easter birth, you think? :) I was born on Easter Sunday!

Morning all

[busmile] [busmile] [busmile] [busmile] [busmile] Happy Easter! [busmile] [busmile] [busmile] [busmile] [busmile]

Nothing to report here. Today is 40+4, 10 days left to go yet Wink

Emsgale When they offer to book your induction varies from area to area - some places push for induction at 40+10, others at 40+12 and others 40+14. I will add my usual two points here:

1- you're not actually overdue until 42w as normal pregnancy is between 37 and 42w - not 37 and 40w.

2 - Induction is something that you are offered, and that you don't have to take if you don't want it :)

At 40+1 you shouldn't be worrying about induction anyway, your EDD is only a guess so you may not have actually hit the 40w mark anyway. Even by the estimated dates, you've got another 13 days before you become 'overdue'. Anxiety can inhibit labour so the more you worry, the less likely you are to go into spontaneous labour anyway. Add to that the fact that most first babies come after 40w anyway, go and have some chocolate in peace and put your feet up :)

If 42w falls on a Saturday, then I would imagine they'd offer you a slightly earlier date, or have you in on the Saturday anyway. The problem with that for me would be that generally access to anaesthetists etc is more limited at the weekend, so if I was so minded as to accept induction I'd wait until the Monday anyway. But that's me, not you.

HollyPocket Fingers crossed that this is The Diva making her final preparations for landing, rather than some horrible stomach bug!

spannermary SIL commented to me on Skype yesterday that my boobs look smaller than usual, not sure what's happening there! Lots of people have said that I look like I've lost weight everywhere (apart from my enormous stomach) so perhaps they have, and I've just not realised!

Jambalaya Glad the bath helped :)
