Yay newmummy congratulations! Thanks. Gorgeous name!

Bearcrumble · 04/04/2012 21:04

Congratulations aprilfoolsbaby and newmummyvicky - hope you are both feeling well and enjoying your new babies.

Spannermary - Sorry about your blood pressure. Have they put you on any meds? I'm taking nifedipine for mine and it was about the same as yours when untreated.

Hi and welcome, usplusyou.

Well I'm not allowed solids from 3am and no water after 6.30 as I'm going in for my caesarian at 38w 6d tomorrow. They said it should be any time between 8am and midday. I am quite nervous - we went to Brighton today to take my mind off it which worked. The weather was lovely and DS thought throwing stones in the sea was the best thing ever.

WhenDoISleep · 04/04/2012 21:26

Congratulations newmummyvicky and aprilfoolsbaby!!

Have just been crying at One Born...after not being sure whether I wanted to watch it - but actually I'm glad I did.

Realised I've been very lucky to have this week with DS - who's off pre-school for Easter. It's been lovely spending time with him and he's been incredibly understanding about me not being so mobile. Watched him at his swimming lesson today (Easter crash course) and he's doing so well.

El32 · 04/04/2012 22:05

Hello ladies, my easter bunny came today at 14:25 after very very difficult labor. We are staying at hospital tonight. Lots of stitches:((

digitalgirl · 04/04/2012 22:06

bearcrumble good luck tomorrow.

spanner glad to hear it's not PE. Figners crossed it's not long for you anyway.

El32 hope it all went well this morning and you're cuddling your newborn.

Forgot to mention - I have my first acupuncture session to bring on the baby tomorrow morning. Anyone had this before?

digitalgirl · 04/04/2012 22:08

x-posted - congratulations El - sorry to hear it was so difficult, hope your recovery goes well. Be kind to yourself and cuddle your little Easter bunny.

CruciFlisspaps · 04/04/2012 22:17

newmummyvicky and El32 congratulations to you both Grin

El32 I hope you have a speedy and uncomplicated recovery. I hope it wasn't too traumatic - birth is so unpredictable. Sleep well tonight Smile

JambalayaCodfishPie · 04/04/2012 22:21

Congratulations El32!!!

Will update the stats in the morning - what weight was he?Smile

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Smile

Good luck ladies! You popped up in the 'most active' so came for a nosey! :) I am from the Oct 2012 thread (lots of us on board) so still months to go, bet you ladies can't believe the end is in sight. Good luck to you all! :o x

VintageNancy · 04/04/2012 22:38

Congratulations El32 - wishing you a speedy recovery x

Nordicmom · 05/04/2012 00:54

Congrats April, Newmummyvicky and EI32!!! Gosh they really are starting to arrive now... Getting more and more nervous here. Up all night , stressed about things not done yet let alone about our impending adventure in the US . Really didn't help getting a letter from the borders agency stating the possible 12w(!!!!!) waiting time for the entry permit. I knew it from before and lawyer says it should be much less but it really got me worried. Should now finish washing laundry for our trip on fri to Finland for Easter but am kinda stuck on the sofa with thoughts racing in my head. DH calculated that now our odds of the baby coming before the planned mon 23.4. CS are about 25% if I remember correctly . Have to count on the 3/4 then. Wasn't like this last time . Once term I was definitely ready for DS to come out but this time because of the distance etc practicalities it would be really bad if DD comes early . All I want to say at this point is AaaAargghhh.....
Bearcrumble , good luck tomorrow !

Pitmountainpony · 05/04/2012 04:54

E132 congrats.....just to reassure you my neighbor had third degree but she was amazed by how quickly it healed. Hope the pain does not interfere too much with enjoying your little one.

CruciFlisspaps · 05/04/2012 06:06

Morning all. No news here, bloody shower curtain fell down in the bathroom at 5am and woke me up, can't get back to sleep. Slept really well until then too! Angry

mummylivmade · 05/04/2012 06:38

Congratulations newmummyvicky and E132.
good luck today bearcrumble

UsPlusYou · 05/04/2012 08:23

HollyPockett · 05/04/2012 08:46

It's getting exciting now!

Congrats to e132 and newmummyvicky

bearcrumble good luck!

notso · 05/04/2012 08:59

Congratulations aprilfoolsbaby newmummyvicky and El32

spannermary glad you are home and well.

Good luck bearcrumble hope all goes smoothly today.

Nordicmom must be stressful having so much left to chance. I hope your plans work out.

digitalgirl no experience of accupuncture but hope it works for you.

Fliss I had the opposite night to you, I couldn't sleep until DH's phone went off at 5 then I fell into a really deep sleep only to be woken by the radio alarm at 6.00 then again by the human alarm (DS2 bellowing Hewooo down the baby monitor) at 6:30.

Am starting to get stealth texts from school Mums asking how I'm doing.
I've got ages yet till DDay so it's going to get annoying until DC go back to school I think.
Not sure what to do about seeing MW this week, didn't book in as was expecting the scan, but still nothing from ultrasound and I could do with having a chat about plans for birth pool and staying in hospital.
Really niggley backache since last night and generally feeling crap.
Still need to order the cot mattress, still waiting for the carrycot, need to buy nursing bras and trying to track down Lansinoh breast pads.
Am going to wash carseat cover and padding today then wrap it up until needed.

Have a good day all Smile

whenskiesaregrey · 05/04/2012 09:09

Wow congratulations to all of you that have had your babies! And not long to go for everyone else now!

Can't believe how fast that has come around. Wishing you plenty of sleep and helping hands for the next few years weeks! Wink

thepuddingchef · 05/04/2012 09:21

Wow I am so jealous of all you ladies getting ready for babies! Congrats to everyone who's had their babies, sorry can't name everyone as can't scroll that easily. Good luck Bearcrumble for today Smile
I am feeling so fat today, want this baby out, had mw appointment yesterday and everything is pointing to a due date delivery Sad
Going to clean clean clean today, kids are off school so house is a tip!
Has anyone had any experience of pressure points to induce labour? I've bought some Clary Sage, smells nice which is a bonus.
I won't go into too much about my pregnancy as I will bore you all to death but suffice it is I feel old, it's been hard and I am having a big baby according to scans. That's why I desperately want him out early as I reckon he'll be 11Ib by the time he arrives 2 weeks overdue Shock (not feeling very positive)
Hope you all have a good day today

WhenDoISleep · 05/04/2012 09:25

Congrats El32

digitalgirl I had acupuncture at 40+4 with DS1 - didn't do a thing for me I'm afraid. I had it done on the Friday and was due a second session on the Monday , but that was cancelled due to snow (but this was in Central London where and inchof the white stuff causes chaos). As an experience it wasn't painful, just a little strange.

spannermary glad you are home and it is nothing serious - did you manage to get some rest last night?

notso can you call the MW and book into see her early next week?

Nordicmom it must be very stressful for you - here's hoping that the baby hangs on for another few weeks. Have a good holiday.

Fliss sympathies on the sleep - I have had some really bad nights recently, waking up at 5am and not being able to get back to sleep.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 05/04/2012 11:08

Yay, congratulations to the April April babies who are starting to appear!! :)

So today is D Day for me. Not that I'm expecting a baby to be forthcoming... I did get a bit curious in the night as I had the worst back ache so far and felt very sick, but I'm fine again this morning.

My 40w appt is tomorrow as my midwife was full today. She's also on call tomorrow for HBs, so that would be a very good time to go into labour though. My mum reckons Saturday, purely because the last two Saturdays running we've had family members ambulanced to hospital (there's some positive thought for my homebirth! Grin) As I'm sure I've mentioned once or twice... DS was two days overdue, so Saturday would match that too...

CruciFlisspaps · 05/04/2012 12:12

Beyond - Friday is a full moon, so I am pinning hopes on that. We've arranged to visit various friends and relatives over the weekend and SIL is coming down on Sunday so hopefully that will cause enough inconvenience to get this baby on the move.

If today's your EDD then there's only a 5% chance of it coming today, so 95% chance that there will be no baby coming today Wink

spannermary · 05/04/2012 12:36

A lot of exciting news on this thread! It's so exciting to read it...

What a pain about your shower curtain, Fliss!

Not to rub in in AT ALL but last night I had the best night's sleep in weeks...I was so emotionally exhausted from our trip to the hospital, and haven't been sleeping well lately (shocker...) but I think the relief of everything helped me relax, and I had nearly 12 hours! ...with just the one loo trip!

Wow, what a difference a day makes.

Looking forward to hearing more great news soon. Especially from those of you who are 40+! I'm DD minus 3, but am just assuming 41 weeks is a more realistic due date for me to store in my mind, as it's my first. I imagine he'll arrive a week either side of that date. And if he comes earlier - so be it!

:)
