Leftover curry for lunch, now I have pineapple for tea.
Quite a bit of lower back pain this evening, but think that might be more imagined by wishful thinking than anything...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 31/03/2012 21:20

Grin at wishful thinking x post!

HollyPockett · 31/03/2012 21:29

Wow. Could my last post be any more dull Blush

HollyPockett · 31/03/2012 21:31

At least your wishful thinking post had food in it beyond. Mine was just boring!!!

newmummyvicky · 31/03/2012 21:56

Hi girls
I've had a bit of a show tonight, and must of been for a wee 10+ times today. Bump is even more hard if that's possible?

Been trying a hot curry too, homemade and put extra chillies in, lol.
Hormones a bit crazy, found myself crying at hollyokes.....
and when hubby home, just getting a bit fed up :-(

X x

newmummyvicky · 31/03/2012 21:58

Ohh forget to say, drinking raspberry tea, bit sad on a Saturday nite!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 31/03/2012 22:32

Yay, hopefully not long for you then newmummy!! :)

DH is reading up on ways to get baba out too something tells me he's had enough of me being pregnant too!! and is currently rubbing the pressure point thing on my ankle. Which weirdly makes my belly feel funny, so maybe it will do something...???

Bearcrumble · 31/03/2012 22:37

Oooh, Newmummyvicky this could be it!

Buns - So sorry and Angry for you about the doctors' dismissive and patronising attitudes. I hope you get a response to your complait. Did you get their names?

I'm ok, getting more Braxton Hicks. Had another quiet afternoon on the movement front the other day and got freaked out but baby's been pretty active today. My blood pressure is around 130/85 which is the high end of normal but it looks like the tablets are keeping it fairly stable.

Only 2 days until I'm seen again - got my surgery pre-assessment and midwife appt on Tuesday then the actual caesarian on Thurs!

Boomerwang · 01/04/2012 01:55

I don't think I ever got a show... unless it was just clear mucous which I could have dismissed as the yucky discharge I'd been getting for a while.

Fingers crossed, NewMummy and Beyond!

Pitmountainpony · 01/04/2012 01:58

We welcomed our daughter into the world at 4am this morning by c section....
Very exciting and wonderful.

VintageNancy · 01/04/2012 02:32

Congratulations Pitmountain! Hope you're all doing well :) Thanks

Baby has definitely got lower - getting all sorts of uncomfortable headbutting cervix type sensations when he or she wiggles now to accompany the kicks in the ribs!

Let us know how the acupressure goes Beyond and fingers crossed Vicky!

PS don't you think momsnet is a great name WinkGrin

Flisspaps · 01/04/2012 08:05

Pitmountain Congratulations Grin

Everyone else - our babies are due this month Smile

Tinwe · 01/04/2012 08:08

Congratulations Pitmountain!!!
Banana hope baby keeps holding on for you, feeling any more prepared now?
Buns rubbish attitude from staff, good on you for being assertive though. I cried after my booking in appointment when the head midwife managed to convince me our baby would suffer horribly due to me being overweight (I was less than 1 point over their BMI threshold with recent DD1 baby weight and drinking gallons of water for my early scan) and that we shouldn't have any tests as would most likely have to decide whether to abort a baby with Downs as I am now an "older mother" (I'm 34 and had a result of less than 1 in 45000 with DD1 just 10 months before). Some people seem to delight in knocking you down if you appear confident as "THEY'RE the experts".
Empathy to all the mums who're having nearly there symptoms. I'm confused, as DD1 came out of the blue 15 days early following my waters suddenly going so I hadn't been looking for signs, expecting her to be another 4 weeks off. Also I had bad SPD which may have masked a lot of signs. This time with DD2 being due on 15th and us expecting her to be early we're on red alert already. Especially as we've been advised to belt to the hospital as DD2 will arrive super quick. Poor DH panics every time I wince and keeps on saying "is this it?!" and I'm trying to look all relaxed and dismissive while over analysing every bodily sensation! Hope I don't go over, we could have a month of this...

Tinwe · 01/04/2012 08:15

ps newmummyvicky I've been weepy too. Sometimes wonder, since all our symptoms are supposed to be gearing us up for labour, what evolutionary advantage is that meant to give us? Maybe it's to keep our men close to guard us in our vulnerable state, or maybe drive them away so we can get on and labour in peace?!

confuzed90 · 01/04/2012 08:23

Yay! Been waiting for april to arrive! This is our month ladies! Lots of babies on their way! Hopefully not too long for us all!

Wonderful news Pitmountainpony, huge congratulations to you all :) What's her name and weight? How exciting!

Well Tinwe, we're trying to get a bit order and get prepared. Our bedroom was housing all of the stuff that was in huge cupboards we had in the hall. These had to be dismantled and it all got chucked in our room! Now been dispersed throughout the house to make room for baby's moses basket which is now in situ and all made up in our room.
More boxes from the lounge have been moved, it will get a thorough dust and hoover today (pointless really as the builders just make more dust by the day) so that I have two rooms in the house that are hopefully junk, builder and chaos free and allow me to think I have somewhere peaceful to bring home baby!

Hope things are happening Newmummyvicky and Beyond. Luckily I have no such twinges as yet, so hope baby will hang in there a week or two longer!

spannermary · 01/04/2012 11:41

Congratulations, Pitmountain! What lovely news!

So glad we're in April finally...it's our time! Am just ready for it too as was awake for 2h in middle of the night and then woke with cracking headache and still mega itchy tummy. Oh well...can't be long till waking in the night takes on a whole new meaning!

Also woke up to find we've run out of heating oil. Will have to order more on Monday, to be delivered a couple of days later. So no hot baths for a few days. Suddenly I'm quite keen to wait till my due date as a warm bath was definitely part of my early labour plan!! Still, it is what it is and at least we will have a tank full of oil when our new born arrives. Smile

Any plans for today, people? I shall be mostly bouncing on my ball trying to get the little one to finish shifting, although I do wonder if he'll go anywhere at 39 weeks other than out?!

Pinch punch!

Pitmountainpony · 01/04/2012 12:33

Thank you.
7 6 and no name yet, as she was early we had not chosen!
I pad keyboard gone funny so have to be brief.....Not long now everyone.
It has split into two tiny keyboards and I cannot get it back.....so irritating........

Tinwe · 01/04/2012 13:36

Banana, we were v unprepared for DD1, having been renovating our new house, but were reminded that all a new baby wants is a bed, food and cuddles. The rest comes later. Sounds like you've got the basics sorted :) I hate being in chaos too though, so sympathy and Brew

Spanner right time of year to run out of oil. We ran out in winter snow once and tanker couldn't get to us for two weeks! Are you planning a home birth, if not now may be the time to go in and enjoy a warm hospital ;)

spannermary · 01/04/2012 14:26

Ah, you say that Tinwe but snow is forecast for Tuesday! We'e not planning a home birth but we're defnitely hoping to give Active Birthing a go, and delaying getting to the hospital as long as possible.

I'm going to make sure DH lets the oil people know our situation - maybe they'll be able to deliver it slightly more quickly then. Who knows?! I wouldn't normally ask for a favour, but I reckon this situation is slightly different.

I certainly don't want a long hospital stay - but may snuggle under a duvet a little more than usual! (And thankfully I washed my hair yesterday, so that's one less thing...) But yes, if I go into labour today or tomorrow we may have to adapt. Hold on, baby!

digitalgirl · 01/04/2012 14:52

Congratulations pitmountainpony!! Look forward to hearing
more about the birth and your brand new dd!

bananna well done on sorting out those couple of rooms.

So - managed to have sex in the early hours of this morning (ds kindly slept through till 7am). Hasn't made the slightest bit of difference. No more twinges than usual.

Just got around to adding myself again as thought I should. Well done to all those who have their little ones already. I have had a difficult pregnancy this time round so haven't felt like posting, but am feeling a bit better so wanted to join in. I have been following you all though. I am so desperate to have this baby now. Am huge!

UniPsychle · 01/04/2012 19:24

Congratulations Pitmountain Hope your recovery is speedy and you get out of hospital soon (if you want to that is!).

newmummyvicky I think you're the first to make it to due date and beyond. Increase of symptoms sounds promising, shall keep my fingers crossed for you.

It's been another hot one here, and have been to the pub for lunch. Made a nice change from cleaning/pretending to pack my hospital bag. I know it's supposed to be getting a lot colder next week but can't believe you've been forecast snow spannermary, where do you live?

Buns I had a similar experience with one of my consultants, not as bad as yours, mainly the loudly discussing my having a c-section in a rather derisory way outside the door. Was not impressed and am glad you're complaining.

Tuesday is getting scarily close now. Weirdly, I feel more relaxed. It's patently obvious that not everything I'd planned on the renovation/chucking out/sorting/cleaning front will not get done, but it really doesn't matter. Tinwe you are spot on; a baby needs somewhere to sleep, grub and cuddles. So a quick shopping trip for DP tomorrow to stock up on yummy stuff for me to eat when bfing and we're sorted.
