Balkan from what I hear OBEM isn't the best advice for labour as they're almost always laid flat on their back!

Sorry Beyond, why are you needing to hang on another week again? I could do with hanging on to next weekend too so I can use our lovely midwife unit like last time rather than hospital. Empathy on the scare. Didn't have any of this last time and it was much less stressful. Hope they don't carry on to due date. I remember my sister having loads of flase starts with her second and third babies, mum and I rushing over to babysit in the middle of the night just to be sent home again.

Fliss - re dates: I was convinced DD would arrive late, even my midwife said she's be a week or two over... 3 days before she arrived 15 days early!

My EDD based on my first scan is 15th April, subsequent scans have said 11th (not sure of dates cos've no LMP but I reckon the earlier date is more likely), DD came 15 days early so based on that DD2 could easily come from 27th...

I'm still at work this week, trying to figure if I expect it, it won't happen! (Have had a plastic sheet on my bed for a week though, as my waters broke in bed last time). It'll be a long long month if I DO go over this time but serves us right for getting frisky rather than planning I suppose Grin!

One bonus of her coming early would be that I'd avoid being painted. I have a friend who's a face/body artist who really wanted to paint bump 1 but I popped the night before. She's keen this time too but I'm so much bigger and more stretch marky I'm just not in the mood, plus lying still for ages would be uncomfortable. Shes not easy to say no to though...

HollyPockett · 19/03/2012 07:16

Wowzers, it's starting to get really exciting now!!

Good luck boom keep us posted!

I'm so sure that the Diva is going to come early that in my head, I forget that my actual due date isn't for three and a half weeks and that actually, I could still be pregnant for another 5 weeks. I reeeally want her here sooner rather than later, but happy to wait until I'm passed the magic 37 week mark (wed)

HollyPockett · 19/03/2012 07:17

Er, past, not passed Blush

Bananna1 · 19/03/2012 09:51

Can't wait to hear your news Boomerwang :-)

Am I the only one who wants baby as late as possible? Just not ready AT ALL. They're putting in the stairs to the loft today, so can't even leave my study and get upstairs to get my hospital bag even if I wanted to Wink !!

notso · 19/03/2012 10:13

Good luck Boomerwang

I am not ready either Bananna1, I still can't imagine having a newborn. I am not ready for my baby DS2 to be a big brother.
My bag is half packed, my pram is half bought, DS2 and DC4's room is half decorated, we have no cot or moses basket and only a girls name.
DS2 has chicken pox so now is definately not a good time.
I still have a while though, five weeks tomorrow so potentially seven plus but then if this one comes at 38 weeks like DS2 potentially 3.

I have a lovely UTI which explains why I have been feeling terrible for the last week, hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and I will feel and look less like a zombie.

Boomerwang · 19/03/2012 10:17

Hi guys I'm back from the hospital. I've been told to call in the morning and they'll get me in for an induction if I've not started labour by then.

Oddly, I feel great! The pressure has gone so I don't feel like I'm going to burst, I can breathe properly, my back doesn't ache any more and I can walk almost normally. The only pain I have is in my pelvis.

Gives me some time to get some things sorted :)

notso · 19/03/2012 10:24

Ooh Boomerwang you are bringing back memories that is exactly how I felt with DS2.
V. exciting.

LaTristesse · 19/03/2012 11:03

Hehe Tinwe, love the being painted thing, how bizarre! What happens once you're painted? And what colour? So many questions...!

Good luck Boomer !

digitalgirl · 19/03/2012 11:17

Eek boomerwang hope as soon as you're sorted that things start to kick off in earnest! Exciting!!!

spannermary · 19/03/2012 11:55

All the best boomerwang!! How exciting... :)

Just back from our presentation scan, and the little one is not breech. But he is back to back. Bugger.

So I've been ordered to go on all fours and rock whilst watching TV? Hmm. I'm sure there must be other techniques too, so if anyone has any hot tips, I'd love to hear them!

Can't wait to hear everyone else's exciting news. It's all going on now, isn't it!

newmummyvicky · 19/03/2012 13:03

Hi girls and boomerwang U sound just like my friend her waters broke Sunday, but no labour pains, she is in hospital waiting to get an Induction too.

Im getting the last bits ready, washing baby clothes and bag and car seat is in the car.
I really want that baby soon!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 19/03/2012 14:48

Woohoo, good luck boomer!! Looks like we'll have #3 very soon then... Grin

Tinwe, I'm my sister's bridesmaid on Saturday. Baba can come any time after that, but not before...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 19/03/2012 14:51

Btw, Fliss was it you that was still BFing your DD?
The last few days, DS has been crying "more more" after his feed, I think the proper milk has definitely gone now and the colostrum come in... Trying to keep him interested with the promise that there will be LOTS of milk to share with baba soon Grin

LaTristesse · 19/03/2012 15:11

Spanner do you have a birthing ball? If so make sure your hips are higher than your knees, and bounce!

beyond, I was still feeding DS but reached breaking point about 6 weeks ago so stopped- it had just been excruciatingly painful all through my pg and I don't think he was really that bothered anymore. He certainly hasn't asked for it, and although I was really keen to tandem feed I'm quite glad now that I had a bit of a break! It would have made my colostrum harvesting a lot easier though, I've no doubt!

Nordicmom · 19/03/2012 15:23

Good luck Boomer!!!
We've got now 5 w until scheduled csection but feel like she better not come early since we' ve still got lots left to do and we're quite far away!!! Getting more and more nervous ... and these early baby news don't help! Trying to think that since our surrogate has had 3 late or on time babies she won't have one early this time either .Apparently there are no signs of things moving on so far .
Might start talking to her twice a week just to hear how she's feeling .
Have to say i'd hate to miss the birth and would feel anxious about my poor baby somewhere all alone since she won't be with our surrogate at all after birth. Wonder what they'd actually do in these cases if the intended parents aren't there?! I guess she would be in a room with other babies and be looked after by the nurses.

VintageNancy · 19/03/2012 16:17

Ooooh exciting Boomer! I was just thinking last night I wonder who will be next!

Nordic - I expect that she'd go in the nursery as you say. I get the option of baby going to the nursery at night and being brought out for feeding here! But it sounds unlikely she'd be early. I can understand your being anxious though.

I definitely feel like baby has dropped a bit more the last few days. We're ready anytime now but I know it could be 4 weeks yet. 38 weeks on Weds. I thought time would be dragging by now but actually seems to be going fast still.

Boomerwang · 19/03/2012 19:37

I felt like I was going to burst last night, had pains all over. Maybe that's exactly what happened :D I just had no room left!

Just chillin' now, waiting for the contractions to speed up. I've had 6 in total. 3 spread out over the whole day and 3 within 30 mins, but nothing for the last half hour or so. They were very mild, just like period pain.

Getting exciting :D

Thank you SO MUCH for the kind responses guys :)

Bananna1 · 19/03/2012 19:47

That is REALLY exciting Boomerwang - can't wait to hear the update. Good luck!!

Bearcrumble · 19/03/2012 20:51

Loads of luck Boomerwang - wishing you a nice easy birth.

Tinwe You must say no if you don't feel comfortable being painted. I know I wouldn't want to...

Nordicmom - I'm sure you won't miss the birth - how many days before your surrogate's caesarian are you scheduled to arrive in the US?

I am 36w 3d today - saw the midwife this afternoon. My notes say 4/5 - I guess that is 4/5 palpable rather than engaged at this point. I am actually counting down the days until my caesarian now - 16 to go!

I took DS for a walk in the woods today and he managed to get dog shit all over his clothes. My life is all glamour.

UniPsychle · 19/03/2012 20:52

Goodness, this is exciting. Go Boomer, hope everything progresses quickly for you.

Spannermary check out the Spinning Babies website for advice on getting babies into an optimal position - says she who's already had one c-section for breech after not managing to get DS1 to turn Hmm

LaTristesse · 19/03/2012 22:11

Tinwe do ignore my inane questions above about the bump painting; I'm going to blame pg brain but I had completely the wrong end of the stick and assumed your actual bump would be painted! I am usually rather more intelligent! Grin

spannermary · 19/03/2012 22:42

Thanks for the tips, guys! bounce bounce bounce

I do have a gym ball and will be using it religiously. Have also checked out the site, but will be waiting a day or so until I've got my head around it to check again. No good doing too much whilst daunted.

Boomerwang - so exciting!!

Flisspaps · 19/03/2012 22:56

Beyond definitely not me, I gave up at 7w with DD...determined to go longer this time round though! Grin

Boomerwang · 20/03/2012 01:20

Managed to sleep from 9.15pm to almost 2am. Woke up just before a contraction. They're getting longer by a second or two, but not more frequent. They're also becoming slightly stronger.

Whilst I was sleeping the house has been rearranged by an antsy boyfriend! He's in bed now, I found him face down on the sofa and told him to go sleep properly :)

VintageNancy · 20/03/2012 01:28

Ha ha is he nesting? Hope you manage to get some more rest before things get even more exciting! I'll be popping in every so often for the next few hours to see if there are any updates (6.30pm here). :)
