hello ladies!
please can I be added to the countdown?
im due 7th april with a suprise bump I have a dd who is 2 years.
I dont post on here that much but read daily!

congratulations bushy!!!

Thaleia · 13/03/2012 13:03

bushy - yes of course! Congratulations, so you're "our" first one Thanks.

I kind of fell on the bus this morning. I started to only get up from my seat when the bus actually is standing still, not before - why would I stand on the stairs or crowded before the exit anyway. Anyway, had to get up well in advance to let somebody else out and just as I wanted to sit down, the bus hit the brakes really hard and i fell back into the seat. My back is in absolute agony at the moment, I hope this goes away. I really, really hurts.

Had my 2nd NCT group - women only - yesterday & I'm getting used the the group. Next one is on the w/e with DH/ DP again.

Also, my replacement has been found on Monday - internally and I had to "break the news" to her. It's fair to say she was shocked ... boss is a handful, I know.

digitalgirl · 13/03/2012 13:05

bushy huge congratulations! So pleased to hear your little girl is healthy after all the scares you had. Beautiful name too! Hope she's out of scbu and snuggled up with you at home very soon! (we had the same due date btw)

emsgale welcome Smile. Am on phone so difficult for me to add you to the list - hopefully someone will be along shortly to do a cut and paste.

Boomerwang · 13/03/2012 13:25

Congratulations bushy :D

Bearcrumble · 13/03/2012 13:59

Congratulations, Bushy - my DS was 5 weeks early too, but a pound heavier than Martha (lovely name btw). Hopefully they'll let you take her home when she reaches 5lb. Have you been over to the premature birth section? Lots of lovely people over there - helped me a lot when I was in hospital. Hope all goes smoothly and she gains weight and tolerates her feeds well.

Flisspaps · 13/03/2012 14:00

bushy congratulations Smile and welcome beautiful little Martha Grin

Flisspaps · 13/03/2012 14:01

thaleia hope you're ok. If you have any doubts about yourself or your baby being OK, call the MW for some reassurance Smile

notso · 13/03/2012 14:03

Wine Thanks Wine Thanks Wine Thanks Wine Thanks Wine
CONGRATULATIONS BUSHYMCBUSH Grin
I am raising my cup of tea in a celebratory fashion. Well done you glad all well for you, Martha is a beautiful name.

I also have good news though not as exciting, Pedwar has turned and my blood pressure has lowered, and I never even got to use my masturbation sticks!
I knew that Ped had changed position but I wasn't sure where to, so was most pleased when the MW had a feel and said "OOH, thats a bum"!

Been having really strong crampy braxton hicks every five minutes for bouts of about four hours every day, and also feeling a lot of pressure low down when this is hapening. MW said if I was worried then to call labour ward but I am not going to as I had very similar with DS2. I know for a fact if I go in they won't do a proper examination in case it starts labour so I would be none the wiser anyway.

Flisspaps · 13/03/2012 14:18

notso hooray for not needing the masturbation sticks Grin

I'm with you on the bouts of cramps. More this morning upon waking, which went when the ILs arrived, and then started up again briefly when they left an hour ago. Stopped again now. I'm hopeful that this baby is going to put in an appearance sooner rather than later (but not hopeful enough to put money on it!)

notso · 13/03/2012 14:31

Thanks Fliss.

Your baby obviously isn't sure about your in-laws Grin
I am thinking I will go before 40 weeks but hopefully I have a while yet as am only 34 weeks today.
In typing that I have probably just doomed myself to be still sitting here like a miserable bhudda at 42 weeks fighting to delay induction!

Yummymummyyobe1 · 13/03/2012 14:39

Congratulations Bushy.

Bananna1 · 13/03/2012 14:53

Congratulations Bushy what wonderful news and lovely name :) My first daughter also came 5 weeks early and spent 5 days in special care. She is now an extremely healthy 16 year old so all good after the initial shock!
Hope you're getting to give her lots of cuddles and spend time looking after her.

I thought I was leaking amniotic fluid last night and was worried I was going into early labour. But MW made me do a check and thinks it's me leaking urine due to the position of the baby pressing on my bladder along with an extremely weak pelvic floor. Lovely!

Emsgale · 13/03/2012 15:20

thank you digitalgirl

spannermary · 13/03/2012 15:29

I've added you, Emsgale: welcome! We've had a few chats on other threads, as I recall :)

I have no idea what 3/5 engaged means in practical terms, but it sounds like the appointment went well?

I'm just back from my 36 week MW appointment. The baby is measuring fine, and sounds happy and perfect but...at 36+2 the MW thinks the little bugger is upside down!

...so I am booked in for a scan on Monday morning, and then...who knows? If so, I may be a March ELCS after all - and all my questions and research into forceps/hypnobirthing/pain management during labour will be interesting asides for another day!

I'm quite calm about it all actually. I was breech, and born naturally - and would rather know, and be able to plan, than have the same situation as my mother who didn't want a CS as my sister is only 13 months older than me and it would have been difficult for her to manage.

It all seems a bit surreal, actually. Especially as the MW said, "I'm pretty sure he is, but I have been wrong before."

Also, I have no issues with painful ribs, which I thought were part and parcel of breech presentation.

Sorry for the mega post!

Bananna1 · 13/03/2012 15:37

Emsgale so was my baby 3/5 engaged last Friday when I was 33+6 - does this mean that they come early? I actually want mine to stay in as long as possible so we can get the loft finished and rooms sorted!

Emsgale · 13/03/2012 15:48

well it means the baby is nearly fully engaged but in baby number 2 the baby can bib in and out of being engaged.
it dosent mean im going to have tge baby early just gives me some hope but I too have decorating to do before tbe baby arrives.
my bump is still measuring 4 weeks smaller so im measuring 33 weeks when im actually 36+3 but im already being scanned regually due to a small baby so not too worried!

my baby was breech for a while but I didnt have any of tgh painfull ribs etc so who can tell I was appatantly breech a week ago but now head down I think they got it wrong last week.
if its breech they will confirm with scan then offer to turn baby if you wish if not youll be booked for csection but alot of babies turn before 38 weeks I read somwhere?!

Flisspaps · 13/03/2012 15:57

bananna1 it means nothing, I'm afraid! DD was nicely engaged at 33w ish, and was born at 42+2!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 13/03/2012 16:55

Congratulations Bushy!!! Grin Yay, we have our first!! Hope you have her home soon :)

I've been convinced all along that DS2 would be late. Last few days though I'm thinking he might be early, he seems to be trying to escape... He is allowed to come in two weeks and no earlier though, got my sisters wedding first!!

Btw, notso I've been thinking "Pedwar" rings a bell for ages now, but couldn't remember why. Just figured it out now...
Blondeness plus pregnancy brain equals one dozy woman Grin

VintageNancy · 13/03/2012 17:18

Congratulations Bushy!!! Grin So exciting. Hope you can take Martha home soon.

I had a terrible night - BHs were frequent and painful at times. Been in bath for last hour and haven't had any more. I've got midwife later so will see what she says. I don't fancy another 3 weeks of this!!

Bananna1 · 13/03/2012 17:30

Flisspaps, I would be delighted with 42+2, but am sure it's never going to wait that long!

balkanscot · 13/03/2012 17:47

bushy, well done and congratulations! :)

God, how I have always been proud of my slim ankles and feet. Not so anymore. Today I have managed to mess up the calf on my functioning leg, by putting too much pressure on it, to compensate for my crappy left foot. Can hardly walk down the stairs now (going up I at work I manage to take the lift). Need to stop snarling and calm down.

El32 · 13/03/2012 18:37

Congratulations Bushy and welcome Little Martha!

And hello everyone,
I've decided to rent a TENS machine. Any recommendations about which brand or where can i rent it?
Have a lovely evening!
