Thanks Detective x

Welcome Victorious I'll do the list in a min.

Back from my booking in appointment. Am weighing in at a hefty 36 on the BMI, am disgusted with myself but I know there is no point in that now, I have been on strong meds for a year and have a spine thing so not easy to get around. Am a full stone heavier than my max ever weight that I have been Sad

I have to take an extra folic acid now cos i is fat and also been given all the stuff to read about GD (gestational diabetes) as am more at risk. I have opted out of the screening for Downs. Back in two weeks for blood tests and just got to await my letter through with scan date on.

MW didn't seem concerned about the fact I was on pill and so can't really be accurate on my dates, has put me at 11/11/12 which is 2 days more than the NHS's online EDD calculator says but hey ho.

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 13:22

I'm a BMI of 36 also. I wasn't given extra folic acid though.

It'll be alright - last time I lost 2 stone in the first 14 weeks, so i have a chance of getting my BMI back down!

I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point OMG - I'm very active, and eat healthily - I just like to eat too much cheese and carbs. You weight is related to your current medical condition. At least you have an excuse! Blush

GreenDragonfly · 19/03/2012 13:24

Thank you everyone Thanks. Still in pain but it's manageable.

Detective it probably shouldn't have but your last post raised a smile! Hoping your fruit down.

OMGBFP · 19/03/2012 13:25

I was big anyway at about 14 stone, always have been a biggun, my breasts are at least a stone in weight each I reckon!

I'm going to look into Slimming World as I really cannot risk putting any weight on at all now, it'll bugger my back up even more than it is. Although strangely these last two weeks are the best it's been since it started! MW said hormones could be helping? Not sure how but long may it continue!

OMGBFP · 19/03/2012 13:27

X post - green if you are still in pain should you not call them again?

We'll be needing a new thread by the end of the day I reckon!

PS. lucyjames you were shown plenty of support on your own thread of your problems with your partner, please have the courtesy to reciprocate that eh?

Stuntnun · 19/03/2012 13:29

Detective sorry to hear about your GP being a dick unhelpful but your post about it did make me laugh so at least you're keeping your sense of humour about everything. Is there another doctor or a prescribing nurse you can see about getting anti-emetics?

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 13:35

I've resigned myself to thinking the only way to get appropriate treatment and bypass the asshole GP is to go directly to A&E and be admitted for treatment. Obviously it depends how it goes - If I am being sick more than 5 times a day, or it is affecting my weight (which really isn't a bad thing however) then its time to go. I'll give the Stemetil 2 more days. Hmpf.

OMGBFP · 19/03/2012 13:36

Is it bad that I am now actively wishing for morning sickness so I can lose some weight? Blush

this has really gotten under my skin today Sad

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 13:38

Greendragonfly Glad it made you laugh, I couldn't face this without making light of the situation - or i'd probably cry more.

Fruit has stayed down yippeeee! DP has promised to bring me lots of melon and pineapple home!

OMGBFP · 19/03/2012 13:38

Had to laugh at this bit WWCJ:

"A gentle post-orgasm back massage may work wonders too." yeah wonder who will be doing that then as my OH is usually asleep before he's rolled over again! Grin

Needed a laugh, thanks :)

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 13:39

OMGBFP Don't you DARE! Honestly - its awful!!!

My mum said the same thing though - 'oooh, hope you get sick like you did last time, do you good to lose some weight.' Bitch

My family are mentalists.

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 13:41

Who are they kidding - orgasm? I'll ask DP what that feels like Grin

WestWingCJ · 19/03/2012 13:42

Grin I know - who from, what planet, writes some of this stuff?!?!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 19/03/2012 13:42

Scan done, dates were correct and matched mine, saw the sac no yolk to be seen as of yet but they said that was fine, back in 3 weeks for another look. Started blood thinning injections today too.

WestWingCJ · 19/03/2012 13:43

Detective - if it's not one thing, it's your mother.......

Hope you feel better soon. Hate morning sickness with a passion. xx

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 13:47

Yay Tits (schoolboy snigger then!) glad you got good news!!

WestWing That made me giggle!

WaitingForMe · 19/03/2012 14:08

Sorry you feel so bad TheDetective but in a way you make me less nervous about morning sickness because you're fighting. Rather than wait for A&E can you try to see another GP?

I burst out laughing at your potential upside to morning sickness OMGBFP. My mum never had it and I have everything crossed that I'm like her!

I'm five weeks today. There's a teeny picture in my book that shows baby is 2.5mm. Seems so much more real knowing that there's something visible to the human eye. You know, if the skin and fat wasn't there Wink

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 14:16

I think I am just going to have to laugh my way through this with you ladies. I promise not to tell any more vomit stories if it makes anyone feel queasy! Just say the word!

WestWingCJ · 19/03/2012 14:20

For second / third (or more!) timers - when did your nausea stop last time? Mine went on to about 20 weeks and I am desperately hoping that I don't get a repeat of that!! Don't think I could cope with that and a toddler. Any positive anecdotes welcome, or negative ones come to that - at least I'll know I'm not alone :)

OMGBFP · 19/03/2012 14:25

Vomit stories are fine by me, as long as you don't mind poo and pee stories?!

Titsalina that sounds very promising :) you ok?

So when this thread gets to 999 someone will need to make a new thread up, shall we have a really long, nauseatingly sugary sweet, sickly, yummy mummy style name Grin just to piss people off lol

Suggestions??!

I just was googling for images of a 6 week gestation to see where I am - PLEASE DON'T DO THIS lots of fab pictures and models, alongisde some pictures of, well you can imagine Sad
I will leave you with the happy thought that at 7 weeks our babies are about the size of a gummy bear :)

TheDetective · 19/03/2012 14:28

Gummi bears! I could just eat one of those.

Actually on second thoughts....

OMGBFP · 19/03/2012 14:30

I was lucky with ms WW DC1, threw up once a day for a couple of weeks. DC2 i don't recall throwing up at all. i guess I probably won't get any ms this time round either then?

NervousAt20 · 19/03/2012 14:30

Just wondering if anyone believes that the NHS online EDD calculator is accurate or quite close to dates, mine says 6 weeks but didn't think I was that far myself but hopefully I'm wrong and that's right
