splashed out on a First Response as the cheapies were doing my head in and it's a BFP for chickenspots! It's all slowly sinking in. DH is chuffed to bits and I am a bit more hesitant but overall quite excited! 3 children wasn't really part of the masterplan.....

Wow, so many November babies. I did another cheap test this morning and still very dark line, hurrah. First midwife appt in the morning, it's been scheduled at the birthing centre rather than the hospital, which I'd really like to go to but thought I was too fat for (am a little over their max BMI). I've been told the appt can take a couple of hours but it doesn't specify in the letter - any ideas? Not quite sure what happens apart from lots of questions & urine/blood/BP, anyone know if there is a physical exam?

Lovely DH gave me a nice card today and we had a really nice day with my family. Thinking of all those who have lost mums or are struggling to conceive as this day must be so hard.

hello to all of the newbies, it's exciting for us all when new women find this thread and the list gets longer and longer! Just add yourself to the list when you get a chance!

Has anyone else found that they have more ear wax?? I know, that is such a gross question but I seem to have loads of ear wax at the moment, and I had loads when I was pregnant the first time as well. Yuck!!

I am so exhausted I feel like I am moving around in treacle all of the time. I can't wait to get through this phase and get some of my energy back.

It was a lovely weekend here (Sydney) it's not mothers day here until May, but it was my dd first birthday! I was so emotional. It was wonderful to think back to her birth and to celebrate her turning one. She has so much energy and she is such a rascal. I think she had fun.

Someoen asked about the booking in appointment. I think they just ask you loads of questions etc

fun she didn't believe me, I had to send a picture of me holding tests up!! it's really strange yes, finding that the hardest to get my head around to be honest. Also feel a little guilty at not being sick at all so far (ok am only 6+2!) when she's been really suffering. They have their 20 week scan on April 2nd and should be finding out the sex :)

What's this about BMI dictating where you can give birth? I'm over 30 not sure whereabouts, maybe even upto 35 I suppose?

What does it mean when you give your pregnancy in weeks with a +? Like OMGBFP being 6+2.

Birthing centres will only let you have a baby there is you're completely low risk which includes a healthy bmi (I guess being over weight or underweight can cause complications)

My closest birth place is a birthing centre but we go 5 mins further up the road to the hospital, it's not as nice but I know I'm in safe hands.
In hindsight with ds I could have gone to the birthing centre, I had him in 7 hours just gas and air but obv didn't know that at the time!

My friend is testing this morning eeee! Can't wait to hear, she said she feels different and not like she's going to come on so that's v promising!

6+2 means 6 weeks and 2 days preg. Midwives will use this all through your preg in your notes too.

Morning everyone!
The CBD has confirmed we are def pregnant .

However I have had period/ov type cramps just in my right side. Most of yesterday and has continued this am - having mild panic attacks about ectopic pregnancy - has anyone else had this or know anything?

Also have been trying to look at what is happening with baby atm, they count in weeks and I think I am 4+6 today - so was looking in week 4 which was all about implantation which happened last week so am guessing I should be looking at week 5. Is this right? I can't get my head around the weeks at all which seems so stupid - I am a reasonably intelligent person, surely I can count weeks!

N20 - yes I'm petrified!!

Been up 2x in the night peeing great! Also been welling up at the news this morning, pregnant much??

Off to the midwife soon :) have been thinking about my LMP and it was a bit short, 3 days, was on pill, I wonder if there's a chance I am further along than i thought? I will see what they think.

Egg mayo and cheese sandwich for breakfast here, anyone else eating strange things and not your usual?

I had some blood yesterday and started cramping badly, spent 6 hours in the hospital. Don't know what else to say really, the blood tests say my 'levels' are right for this stage in pregnancy and the lovely doctor did keep reassuring me that I was still pregnant, however I have to go back tomorrow night for more blood tests to see if they're still rising as they should be. They won't scan me yet as apparently it would be too early to see anything. Sorry for the ramble and lack of paragraphs, just needed to get it out :(

well tomorrow was the most emotional day i had so far. i gave my mum a scroll with some lovely wording on it and i just couldnt get through the first paragraphs without bawling my eyes out. also watched supersize v superskinny on catch up and when the lady cried i found myself welling up also! i was thinking to myself jesus women pull yourself together my DH gave me a lovely manly pat on the back as if to say (get a grip love!) bless him!

green, really hope all goes well for you, fingers tightly crossed. - I had some early bleeding from 5-6 weeks, bloods were all good and then I got a scan on Saturday at 7+3 which thankfully was also good. But it was a terrifying time while I was waiting, so I am thinking of you - have an un-MN hug
