Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Thechick · 17/03/2012 18:57

Hello all

I got my bfp last Monday, not sure of my edd, but I'll be 5 weeks on Tuesday ( I kind of don't want to know the date right now) . I have an almost 13 year old ds from a previous relationship and got married to an amazing man last August and have been ttc since then. I did get pregnant in Jan but had a mc at 5+2. Once I get past that date in this pregnancy I think I'll relax a bit more into it. I don't really have any symptoms, just really thirsty sometimes and the occasional wave of nausea, and i'm really bloated but I was exactly the same with my first pregnancy, well apart from the bloatedness. I would like to feel a bit more pregnant though. I'm eating a lot, my diet could definitely be improved and I'm cooking and baking more than normal.

I've told my dad, not my mum as yet as I haven't seen her, should do tomorrow. I've told one person at work and a random old friend that I bumped into. She asked me if I was thinking about children and I couldn't really lie, told her about the mc too, oh and I told my (supposed) best friend too. Not sure if it's the hormones but my dad and best friend don't seem to be too happy for me. The best friend basically said that I should prepare myself for the worst and it was a really short conversation. My dad basically said that we'll talk abut it later. No congratulations no hug.....but I'm happy, ds and dh are happy and hats all that matters. Sorry it's so long.

WaitingForMe · 17/03/2012 19:00

We had friends for lunch and I think they guessed. I was clearly tired and a bit under the weather but hadn't cancelled a party of six adults and five kids (all boys under seven). I've been getting dizzy each afternoon and for a while he was checking up on me and looking a bit worried. Sod the not drinking, we could have been waving a flag!

Going to the inlaws tomorrow. Going to say I have an ear infection as I really can't deal with the way my MIL stresses about everything. She gets to know when 12 week scan is ok and she'll be bad enough then.

EssexWelsh · 17/03/2012 19:15

Thanks Lilliana, I would def go down the antibiotics route particularly if you give the reason that there is some sort of 'female' infection to throw them off the scent and if they know you were ttc then you wouldn't want to risk drinking, deceitful but would work Wink. My only other worry is at 3 weeks pre knowing I had a ridiculously large drink for a 30th, so comforting myself I don't plan in drinking again, even on my all inclusive-if ok to go!

Thechick, don't take it personally, I wonder if more is going on in their lives, would your best friend be jealous or trying herself? For us the magnitude is huge, maybe give it time and they'll catch up with your excitement! Anyway who cares, you're pg and that's the main thing-congrats! X

TheDetective · 17/03/2012 19:45

I'm back in the land of the living - post nights!

Cooking a massive pot of chilli right now, feeling a little better knowing no work tonight!!

Congratulations to all the very many new members!! I haven't caught up on everyone yet!

I had a very very busy night last night, where the worst case scenario happened - it has compounded my feelings about being signed off. I can't give 100% without detrimental effects to me, it killed me last night, and after no food or drink or break or wee ALL night, I know that I have to do what is right for me now. The nausea/bloatedness/tiredness is definitely worse on nights.

I woke up to a letter asking me to make an appointment with the midwife as I needed further investigations from my booking bloods. My group&save needs further investigation. What this means is either I have some strange antibodies in my blood - which I doubt - I'm Rh positive, and have had a blood transfusion in 2002 - since then I have had a lot of group&saves for various operations and non have shown antibodies. So what I suspect is, they either labelled the sample wrong, or the lab lost it haha!!

Either way, more blood? NOOOOO!

OMGBFP · 17/03/2012 20:33

Group&save?

TheDetective · 17/03/2012 20:52

A group & save is a blood test to see what your blood group and rhesus status is. In other words your ABO group and if you are Rh D positive or negative.

Stuntnun · 17/03/2012 20:56

Lilliana what about a urinary tract infection? That way they won't take note if you keep going to pee!

Thechick · 17/03/2012 21:01

Hello EssexWelsh , yes I know I shouldn't, just a bit emotional at the mo I guess. I'm having a very emotional day today, everyone and everything is getting on my last nerve. My best friend has a 1 yr old, i dont think they are ttc but our relationship has been off since my mc. Not sure why.

Lilliana · 17/03/2012 22:09

Ohh I like it Stuntnun, 2 birds with one stone! I am also going to ask my best friend to share a room incase I end up with sickness at that point as I will prob tell her anyway.

Detective eww bloods! I'm very much hoping I don't have too many needles involved in my pregnancy.

chickenspots · 17/03/2012 23:21

wow I've skim read most of the thread, November 2012 looks like a popular month! I'm tentatively saying hello as I've had 2 very faint lines on cheapies but AF not due til Monday but I've felt pregnant for a few days now - really, really sensitive to smells and major boob ache. Got 2DDs already and wasn't really planning any more...... I've got rid of most of the baby stuff as well!
I'm old and I've been weaning myself off MN recently but the prospect of another pregnancy has brought me back Grin I like the straight talking of MN and not a fan of fluffy, glittery tickerlines .....

shinyblackgrape · 18/03/2012 09:18

Hi - can I join in. AF due today but had positive tests since Wednesday. This is our first but just joi ing very tentatively as had a mmc in December and January just right after AF due. This time I feel different in that I have never had a positive test pre missing AF and the lines have always been very weak.

Hope I'm not kidding myself this time but also feeling slightly sickish and very exhausted with sore boobs and a horrible taste in my mouth.

Keeping everything crossed - due date would be 25 November

Evilwater · 18/03/2012 09:40

Hello ladies,
I've had a test result back, and I've got mass growth in my urine, but the respeption lady said it was ok. Hmm of course I had some questions but she couldn't answer them.

So watch this space!

The detective, in my trust every time a transfusion is done people have to have a new group and save. Sounds like the lab had some trouble, thinking about it I wonder weather they messed up my sample.

Happy mothers day every one! I'm telling my family today so I need a lorry full of luck. The father is treating me to I bought a zoo. Anyone else got anything nice planned?
EW

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/03/2012 09:59

Going to my mums for lunch, my sister and get kids will be there and my gran who I don't think knows I'm preg yet but no big deal.

Dh helped ds make me a card this morning and brought it into me in bed which was v nice.

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/03/2012 10:00

Her kids*

OMGBFP · 18/03/2012 10:02

EW that doesn't sound too reassuring?! How can they drop that on you but not elaborate? (Unless she meant a baby?!)
Good luck for telling your folks :)

No plans here aside from going to watch the footy at the pub this afternoon. Am planning on sneaking a cheese sandwich into my handbag Grin

Welcome to newbies, sorry getting so busy can't keep up with all the names now!

OH keeps coming up with horrid strange boy's name ideas. Gene or Niko anyone??

TheDetective · 18/03/2012 10:10

OMG DP wants to call our baby Isaac. Really don't like Isaac. I like Noah but he says it's too biblical. Well what the frig do you call Isaac then?!

Am sat in bed this morning, sulking. Someone forgot to get me a card.

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/03/2012 10:17

We're going to keep the name a secret til he/ she is born.

Has anyone done the Chinese gender prediction chart? Mine says I'm having a girl (which would be the best ever!) and I tries it for when I had ds and it said boy so who knows.

Tiago · 18/03/2012 10:23

I love the idea that Issac wouldn't be biblical Grin and noah would be!

I am recovering from a bout of flu/horrific cold-ness and DH is waiting on me hand and foot. I'd never realised how much I rely on Lemsip in these situations until I wasn't allowed it anymore Shock. Fortunateyl it appears to have been predominantly a 48 hour thing.

I am hoping that everything tasting spicey to me (save for the blandest of the bland foods) is a flu symptom not a PG one, because otherwise its going to be a sucky 8 months ahead.

Tiago · 18/03/2012 10:24

*isaac

Evilwater · 18/03/2012 10:53

Omg I have to phone on Monday so I'll let you know.
Tango no names yet.

I'm just taking things slowly.
EW

applepieinthesky · 18/03/2012 11:12

Grin at liking Isaac but Noah being too biblical!

I done the Chinese gender thing yesterday and it says a boy but we think it will be a girl. I have lots of dreams where I have a baby and it is always a little girl.

We both like the name Arianna. There are so many pretty girls names though but I find boys names really hard to think of. There aren't many I like at all.

Stuntnun · 18/03/2012 11:19

My boys brought me lovely homemade cards a box of chocolates in bed this morning and asked me what I would like to do today. Grin It made me think of all you first-timers and what you have to look forward to. Just now the pregnancy and birth are all you can think of but in fact it's just the beginning of a new life-long relationship.

tomatoplantproject · 18/03/2012 13:01

Welcome to all the newbies!

I tried to convince dh that I should be getting something as a mother to be but he was having none of it! We are going out later though for Sunday roast.

We went to a wedding yesterday and it was so hard not telling people. I only had a small glass of wine, and driving home after was my excuse. I was sat next to a 5 month pregnant lady and was dying to ask loads of qs (even though she was being very mememe about the whole evening).

Happy mothers day to all those mummies. Will watch from the sidelines looking forwards to brekkie in bed and homemade cards on mothering sunday for the next 18 years!

NervousAt20 · 18/03/2012 13:45

Hey everyone. Can I join?

Just found out last week and think I'm about 5 weeks and due around Nov 13th. Just waiting for my DR to confirm but did 2 home tests that were both positive. Was a huge shock at first but me and my partner are both happy and excited but it seems so far away!!

Read lots of the posts on here and congratulations to everyone it seems Nov will be a popular month xxx

Peaky1 · 18/03/2012 14:07

NervousAt20 Welcome! I think the dating scan seems aaaaages away, let alone the birth! I'm reliably informed that you'll look back and wonder where time time went.

Tomatoplantproject I managed to convince DP that technically I'm growing a child right now so could be classed as a mother and so I got breakfast in bed - JACKPOT! Huge man points scored for the DP =D hehe.

In other news the broken record continues : "My boobs hurt....I feel sick...is it bed time yet?...My boobs hurt...I feel sick...Is it bedtime yet?...My boobs hurt...I can't poo..."

On a huge plus note I'm still keeping up my fitness regime of running and DVDs. I have to persuade myself a LOT more but I always feel a bit better (and slightly smug) afterwards.
