horseylady in answer to your question - yes, peopl do have trouble free and infection free pregnancies. I had 2 MCs early 2010 then went on to have DD and had absolutely zero problems right the way through - no nausea, or vomiting, or pain, or anything to worry about at all. My ankles didn't even swell. I guess the only thing was that she was breach for quite a long time but she turned in the end of her own accord.

And I know plenty of other people who have had trouble free pregnancies. The problem with the internet is people only seem to talk about the problems, and not the easy parts.

I would hate to have to wait til 12 weeks for a scan. On Monday mine will be to check for a heart beat and to see it isn't ectopic at 6w3d... that is the norm and won't cost me a cent.

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/03/2012 17:41

horseylady my first pregnancy was completely trouble free. As with petite, had no pains, sickness nothing. I really enjoyed my pregnancy and had a great labour too. Can't wait to do it all again! Really try and avoid reading too much on the Internet and googling any symptoms you have, it only leads to worry. I say this as a complete worry head as well!

petite you are so lucky. I wish we had such good care in the uk. 12 wks is an awful long time to wait for the first sign of bubba.

thereistheball · 07/03/2012 18:02

Hi again. I had my third test today and am still pregnant Smile. Now I have another 2ww til the next test and then a scan.

Petite - I am just south of Paris. I was on the Champs Élysées today and ended up in the new M&S there. I lugged back a ton of curry so I don't have to cook tonight (decent ready meals or curry are hard to find here) and now I'm collapsed on the sofa under a blanket.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2012 19:00

Oh I am so incredibly Envy at you having an M&S - so angry at them for shutting down the shops all those years ago - apparently there used to be one in Metz and in Luxembourg, but I doubt they are priority cities for new branches..

I was living in Paris when they closed and there were protests. Now, does the new store have sausgage rolls

I have to make my own curry, which is what I am doing right now actually. Let me know if you need a good OB GYN in Paris my old one was fabulous.

Tiago · 07/03/2012 19:26

Stuntnun - Babybond do them for £99. I've found other places too - but they've been around to £150 mark.

Congratulations to everyone! I will try and keep up now!

Gingerbreadlatte · 07/03/2012 20:21

Congratulation Izzy- it does take a little while to sink in doesnt it!

I was TTC for 6+ months and was still suprised and didnt really believe it when it happened!

How are you feeling?

How is everyone? Anyone due early in the month feeling sick yet?

OP posts:
thereistheball · 07/03/2012 20:23

Petite - yes, I scoffed half a packet of mini ones this pm when I had a blood sugar wobble. Also, they have mini pork pies Smile But inexplicably, no Cornish Cruncher. Re Obgyn: I did IVF so am being intensively monitored, thanks.

I overdid the stomping around in the rain today. Now I'm all shivery, with achey legs, very strong period pains, and I can't move from the sofa. Lesson learned.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/03/2012 20:30

Envy i don't usually miss British food but all cravings i have are for things like sausage rolls, chips and gravy, fish and chips, lilt, and i can't remember what else from last time round. Nothing french managed to hit the spot. I hope I crave French stuff this time round but seeing as i can't stop thinking about sausage rolls now i think i won't be in luck :)

tomatoplantproject · 07/03/2012 20:36

Jealous of English food with all that there melted cheese in France?

I've made a decision. I'm now going to have a simple time - I had such a rough few days surely mother nature won't want me to get morning sickness or any other extreme symptoms??

Evilwater · 07/03/2012 20:45

I can't believe it, I was sick because it was cold. I've been in most of the day and only been out to peg out the washing, and every time I've urged. However I pegged in the last load, and I saw my supper.

FFS when will this nightmare end! I just want to eat a nice curry and keep it down! And be able to to be around veg! I'd also like not to feel freezing all the time.

I'm starting to get tired now, thankfully I'm on holiday.

Pregnancy is surposed to be wonderful, erm..... Who thought up that
Hoping you other ladies are feeling better than me.

Gingerbreadlatte · 07/03/2012 21:14

Sorry you feel so rubbish Evilwater. Hope you get some days of feeling better in between the pukey ones.

I had my booking appointment today! All is well in my little bubble! I have my first scan booked for 25th April, when I will be 12+1. I've had my bloods and history taken. I have informed them of my intention to have a home birth, and to my utter surprise, the midwife was supportive, not at all negative - considering my history.

As I already knew, she is referring me for consultant led care, but I shall not be attending any hospital appointments unless there is an actual problem, and she is aware of this. I am quite happy for a home assessment from a supervisor of midwives as I have requested to see one who I know to respect the wishes and be supportive of women choosing to do things a little differently! She said they had supported a vbac lady at home last year, and all went well. She confirmed that they won't refuse a home birth if that is the womans choice. I know this, and she knows I know this, so hopefully, I will enjoy a stress free pregnancy!

We discussed if I go past 42 weeks, and I have stated that I intend to opt for expectant management, although as I laboured at 40+13 with my DS, I am optimistic for similar this time. I will not go through induction due to the risks, and neither will I agree to elective section just because I am 42 weeks, unless there are real problems.

The only thing me and DP are undecided on is screening tests. And if DP wants to attend parentcraft classes. I don't need to - but I think he would enjoy it, and it would be nice to meet other new mums in the area. We probably will go, and I'll pop some earplugs in, and he can ask me if xyz is really true later!

So, that is obstacle one over and done with! I am feeling really well today, no tiredness, no nausea, nothing! Me and the dog went for a walk earlier, and I was practically running ahead of her I had so much energy! And she is a Labrador, and not exactly slow!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 08/03/2012 00:00

Detective its nice to read a long post :)

Thats good that your appointment went well...must be quite a relief. I have read the thread but i dont remember reading your history so not sure how much you expected that to affect your HB choice.

I think we will prob go for a MLU birth if possible, I dont think i would want a homebirth, but not really sure why?!

I have done another CB digi and it's now reading 2-3 so that feels good that levels must be rising a bit. Looking forward to scan.

We told our parents and my sister today. They are very happy!

No symptoms at all yet...

blonderthanred · 08/03/2012 00:35

Sorry to hear about those with colds! I am generally quite a chilly person so bought some ginger tea as advised upthread. Little bits of nausea but nothing too bad so far. More twingey and tearful!

DH and I saw the doctor this morning, really pleasantly surprised. It was a new doc but she'd looked at our notes and was really pleased for us. when I said I was concerned as I've put on so much weight during the time we've been ttc, she reassured me just to eat healthily, advised no exercise other than walking for the first few weeks and said not to worry about it. she's sent off our notes & is trying to get us an early scan as my cycles have been so irregular, just to be sure of dates, but she gave us an earlier estimate of 6 Nov - which just happens to be DH's birthday! His response: " you know you still have to get me a present, right?"

Told mum & siblings, all v pleased although still trying to be cautious.

Hope everyone is enjoying their journey!

blonderthanred · 08/03/2012 00:56

Btw apologies for all the exclamation marks. I think I might be a bit excited.

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 07:34

Hello can I join in?
Ttc no. 2, did 2 eBay tests yesterday afternoon and had vv faint lines on both.
Did a boots cheap test this morning and again was a v faint line, only visible if you hold it up to the light so still a bit tentative about it.

Of course I'm extremely happy I've been ttc since mid dec, a bit longer than it took with ds.

Sorry am on my phone so can't add to stats but itll be DC2 EDD 14/11/12

wifey6 · 08/03/2012 07:37

Yay! Welcome DH21...starting to feel like home now a lot of us from 2ww are in here!! Congratulations - so happy for you!

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 07:38

Thanks wifey!! I think I'll be doing more tests til the line is darker though, it doesn't feel that real yet.

wifey6 · 08/03/2012 07:55

I was exactly the same! I did 8- yes you read that right 8 cheapy strip tests & a digi in on day!Blush Then I did a test everyday for 3 days to check the line was darker! It's still not real- my DH doesn't speak about it much- we likes to get past the 12 week scan first- so I am getting my 'fix' of baby talk from here & with my mum! Smile

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 07:59

I've got 3 tests left (I've done 3 already!) so I'll be doing those in the next week. One of them is a digi so I'll do that last.
I think I implanted on mon eve because I got a sharp backache (thought AF was coming as that's one of my symptoms) so if that's true I'm prob around 13ish dpo.

Pleeaasseee let it be a sticky bean, I get really bad preg anxiety, always think the worst and so worried something will go wrong web though my first preg was v smooth with no problems at all.

Taking folic acid and going to get preg vits.
