Well another day off with this bloody cold. I hope OMGBFP you are feeling better? I am sorry to hear that you have such problems with your back and it is going to impact on your birth. But the one thing I found with my DD is that I OBSESSED with the birth however 21 months later I realise that it is only 1 day of my DDs life and so much more interesting things happen when they are here!

Wow the November 12 board is filling up! Welcome desperate. I did 3 CBdigis Blush and 3 cheapo HPTs. I am impressed that you know when you implanted!

TheNewMrsC · 08/03/2012 09:36

Hi ladies can I join you ??? After trying for 6 months got my BFP last week seen midwife yesterday and due 9th November !!! DH and I have told out parents and siblings but no one else yet going to wait a few weeks as I am only 4+6 today .

When is everyone else telling people ? Anyone sick or anything yet ? I've been ok so far but with dc1 I was fine so I'm just waiting on the pregnancy from hell !! Grin

schroedingersdodo · 08/03/2012 10:12

MrsC I haven't told anyone but my parents and parents in law. It doesn't feel real yet, but I don't want to wait until after the scan, like I did with DS. What is a good middle ground?

OMGBFP · 08/03/2012 10:16

Hellobear no I don't feel any better today, really need to get on the phone to the GP, think I need some antibiotics now Sad will see how it is today and ring first thing if necessary. Also got the runs now too! Blush Another day being maudlin on the sofa then. Must get OH to go and buy me my folic acid and vitamin D as I'm in no fit state to be out and i'm worrying that should be taking them by now.

I know you are right in what you say about it being just one day x

Welcome new ladies :) I have a feeling November wards are going to be BUSY!

Well that's me at 5 weeks today :)
Still no sickness but nausea with smells is getting worse. OH came in with a kebab last night after practise and I had to force him to leave the room and go eat it in the bedroom, open the windows and waft and spray lemon airfresh in the lounge - and I couldn't then go to sleep in bed as it reeked in there Envy

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 10:17

hellobear it's just a hunch but it was a horrible pain that made me say god that hurts! So it's obv not AF on the way do must've been implantation as there's no other explanation, I could of course be talking crap though!

TheNewMrsC · 08/03/2012 10:19

Yeah same here apart from having to go to bed earlier I don't feel the least bit pg !!! With DD I started telling people at about 7 weeks but I felt that was a wee bit too early I'm thinking maybe 9 or 10 this time . DD is 7 and I don't want her to know too early but I don't want her to guess either I want to tell her soon before she overhears too much figures it out and ruins the surprise . She has been beeeegging me for a sibling for about 2 years now !!! Smile theres just so much to think about and I feel that time is moving so slow !!! Grin

Elizadoesdolittle · 08/03/2012 10:22

We haven't told anyone yet but I only found out on Tuesday so not seen anyone to tell. I'll tell my sister at the weekend and probably the in laws. Will tell my mum next week. A lot of my friends will guess as have a few drinking nights lined up in march and as soon as I don't drink it will be obvious. But I'll only tell close friends, others will just have to wait and wonder.

For my first pregnancy we ended up telling lots of people early on. For this one I'm keen to keep it quieter for longer. Not sure why.

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 10:24

Only my sister knows atm because I needed another opinion on the 'is it a line?!' and of course dh knows.

I'm going to tell my parents tomorrow when I go round there and the in laws in the next week or so.

I think 8 weeks is a good middle ground, I read that a chance of mc reduces greatly at 8 weeks.

I've got four close friends who knew I was ttc but will tell them when they ask! Two of those are ttc too so don't want to rub it in.

Cacacaz · 08/03/2012 10:45

We haven't told anyone yet. Dh and I made the decision to keep it to ourselves until I have had a scan, my mc last year is the reason behind this. I have my midwife booking in appointment next week, I am going to ask about an early scan as I was told because of my mc I could have one.

I'm also feeling sorry for myself, I have a sore throat and headache, so currently cuddled up in bed.

No sickness here yet although I have occasionally felt nauseous,my boobs feel like they have lead weights attached to them Blush. I also have been constipated but apparently that's a result of folic acid, I have been eating lots of high fibre foods as well as having some lactulose to try and help move things along, but it seems to be making me very windy Blush

horseylady · 08/03/2012 10:59

I've had some blood day :( like a tiny pin prick amount (think giving blood when they test for iron) when I wiped earlier but no more? Now feeling worried. I feel similar to yesterday though not as ill as I had felt which is good. Should I do another pg test or leave it? Perhaps there's a little cut that's what it looked like paper cut type thing? Most people may not have noticed?! W
Congratulations everyone else!!!!

wifey6 · 08/03/2012 11:18

So are the risks reduced after 8 weeks? I have the worst pregnancy anxiety. Sad
Food & drink are making me feel ill today & still getting stretchy/growing pains. Feeling very blessed but also very sorry for myself. Has it sunk in yet for anyone?

Cacacaz · 08/03/2012 11:27

Horseylady lots of people have a little spotting in early pregnancy, and it's usually nothing to be worried or concerned about. If you want some reassurance there is no harm in calling your gp or early pregnancy assessment unit. If it gets heavier or you experience any pains then I would get it checked out.

Haywire · 08/03/2012 11:30

Congratulations everyone

Horseylady think spotting is common but am no expert. It is so hard not to worry but am trying to occupy my mind with other thoughts. Am going to view a house this pm as we will need a bit more space.

sinking in here feeling quite excited rather than the shock earlier in the week. Saw my lovely GP this morning she said she didn't need to see me really and gave me the MLU number but that it was nice to see me anyway and when i said about being bit old she said your not old!

rang midwives and they don't do booking in until 10 weeks here but they do come to your house to do it! I live in the middle of nowhere!

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 11:33

wifey yeah I read the risks are reduced after 8 weeks. Of course the risk is still there as it is all the way through but getting to 8 weeks is the 'hardest' time.

G0ldenbrown · 08/03/2012 11:53

Hi all

Got my BFP 2 weeks ago but have been waiting to signup on here as I have a RL friend on here and did not want her to find out via Mumsnet! According to due date calc I'm due 2nd Nov.
We have told our parents, who are massively excited, and I've told my best mate who knew we were ttc. Trying to hold off for 12 weeks before I tell anyone else, but it's hard to not shout from the rooftops.

I have some sickness, mainly just feeling sick, kinda like I get with vertigo, but actual sickness a couple of times. Tiredness is being a bit of a killer

horseylady · 08/03/2012 11:58

There's been no more it was literally a pin prick!!! So small so think it's ok!!! Need to try to relax!! Just after 2 years of trying I can't believe it's happened!!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 12:47

horsey I think that's nothing to worry about, esp if you've got no pain as well.

I'm getting slight cramps every so often and I've got a horrible taste in my mouth all the time like when you haven't eaten or drunk anything in a while and it's a bit stale but it's constantly.

jencd · 08/03/2012 13:11

Hello ladies, recognise a few of you from the conception forums!

I got my BFP on Sunday, done another two since and all very strong lines. I have very long cycles and OVd on 14th Feb according to BBT so 23 DPO at the moment or three tiny weeks preggers.

I had a MMC a couple of years ago and have been TTC for 7 months so my doc's secretary got us an appointment on Monday. Me and DH were a bit disappointed as he did a quick scan and we couldn't see anything, a tiny tiny dot on the screen but he couldn't even tell if that was the embryo. The doc said it was probably just too early and to go back in two weeks when he should be able to see more, but now I am freaking out every five minutes. 12 more days to go til I know there really is something there, then 8 more months of praying and hoping it stays.

I felt a bit tired and nauseous on Monday and Tuesday, but today and yesterday feel fine. Am stressed that means somethings not growing properly.

I have the cramping pains and sore boobs. Sounds ridiculous but I really really want to get some morning sickness as another sure sign (along with the BFPs) that I really am PG.

Sending lots of peace and health to everyone else on this thread! here's to all these healthy little November babes!

OMGBFP · 08/03/2012 14:50

Can I ask ( since am so ancient and out of the baby loop!) what's an MMC and a Chemical?

Blush
DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 15:04

A MMC is a missed miscarriage, when the embryo dies somewhere between the BFP and 12 week scan.

I think a chemical preg is where the egg doesn't implant or it does very very early on so if you test early you get a BFP but the pregnancy doesn't progress but don't quote me on that one.

OMGBFP · 08/03/2012 15:07

thank you. I have a dread of googling for things!

So I assume the fact that each day my bfp's are getting thicker/stronger is a good sign then?

DesperateHousewife21 · 08/03/2012 15:10

Yeah I'd say so! Sorry I didn't explain the MMC v well, its when the embryo dies but you have no idea. No cramps/ bleeding etc so it's only picked up at the 12 weeks scan hence why it's called missed.

OMGBFP · 08/03/2012 15:12

It's ok i think I got you there. have heard of people who that has happened to, just never knew it was called an MMC.

Is anyone else still testing every morning? Blush

jencd · 08/03/2012 15:28

i just did another to be sure Blush... two lines! Grin

OMGBFP · 08/03/2012 15:36

Are they getting stronger?

Can I ask another silly question please? I assume theHCG will drop off eventually so when would that be? I don't want to scare myself by testing and not getting anything
