Piffle,
do exactly what you've been told to and put your feet up and take things easy - I know, probably easier said than done.
thinking of you x

FirstNikki · 14/02/2006 11:28

Hi Piffle I know its easier said than done but please try. Thursday is not too far away and then you can get tested etc. the fact that the pink has been and gone is a good sign I would think. very best of luck xx {{hugs}}

FirstNikki · 14/02/2006 11:30

welcome nowanearlyNicemum and congrats on your bfp There's a few of us now and there's a stats thread (s scroll down to a recent previous post) if you wish to add yours when you are ready. Best of luck

Piffle · 14/02/2006 11:32

I'm mostly really at the receptionist bitch who said, well an early scan won't stop an ectopic you know... in sarky patronising tones...
No, but it might save my tube or my life you silly cow!
I'm off to tuck dd into bed (shes poorly and snuggly so good day for rest) and hopefully now I've vented... The will have gone...
Have never bled in my two successful pregnancies, although I'm not sure I checked as closely when I wiped ever before when pregnant!
I feel like an obsessive nut

Piffle · 14/02/2006 11:33

And welcome nowanearlymum, : congrats on your pregnancy

nowanearlyNicemum · 14/02/2006 11:35

I can totally understand you're Piffle. I'd be beside myself. How dare she? People with that much intelligence shouldn't come into contact with the general public IMHO. Hope your dd is ok.

thanks for the welcome firstnikki - will have a look at the other thread.

nowanearlyNicemum · 14/02/2006 11:36

thanks Piffle

twinkle183 · 14/02/2006 12:25

Hi ya Piffle, don't worry about that silly idiot at work. She probably doesn't have a sensitive bone in her body!

I am going throught exactley the same as you at the moment! I am currently spotting at the moment, it only seems to be in the morning though! Which I find really weird, I went to the dr about it and he said not to worry unless you have pain and blood at the same time. So I am trying not too worry to much!!! But I know what you mean about being out of control with worry. I keep buying tests just to checking that I am still pregnant!

However, in my first pregnancy I had two periods in the early weeks but didn't know I was pregnant. So had no reason to worry.

Is anyone else having problems keeping it a secret?

twinkle183 · 14/02/2006 12:28

Hi nowanearlyNicemum, congrats on your bfp.

Piffle · 14/02/2006 12:30

I never told anyone last time early, so they all went into shock when they found out I was in hospital after an ectopic...
DP does not want to tell anyone until 12 weeks.
I have told my mum and my ds (12) as do is away for all this week and ds would need to be aware if anything happened, he is very mature and thrilled, he was gutted last time when we had not told him I was even pregnant and next thing he knows his mums on a drip and a catheter.
SO it changed the way we view early informing.

twinkle183 · 14/02/2006 12:33

Am just struggling with keeping a secret!

twinkle183 · 14/02/2006 12:36

I am still waiting for an appointment with mw, I have to wait for her to call me! The anticaption of not knowing how far I am for sure is killing me. The last time I did any calculations I was wrong so we'll see.!

Gemmitygem · 15/02/2006 05:04

Hi everyone! And welcome nowanearlymum

Twinkle: know what you mean about keeping it a secret! Can't wait to tell parents on Fri, (though will do yet ANOTHER) test before I tell them re: cos I had bleeding at 4 weeks (see long anxiety rant at bottom of thread).

Piffle, I really sympathise. It's amazing how people who have supposedly chosen to work in a caring profession can be so insensitive! They should be sent on a VERY long communication skills course on a desert island and not allowed off till they develop some emotional intelligence

Majormoo, hope you enjoy Paris. BTW, my French friend told me preg women there just carry on eating all the cheese, ham etc AND drinking champagne! Can't be bad....

Feel a bit queasy today but no real sickness and 5 w 5 d today. Is this normal?

riley3 · 15/02/2006 09:56

Piffle - my 13 yr DS has also been told - for exactly the same reasons. In that way he is basically a grown-up and deserves to know what is happening in his family. Am also still v worried about my pg "lasting" and being real. DH & I took Valentine's day off work together and went for a 10 mile walk (punctuated by big lunch). That eve DH cooked lovely meal (he's a better cook than me - lucky thing that I am!). I however could barely get out of the bath at the end of the day and my belly ached. It felt as though the ligaments were being pulled - the same ones you feel at the very end of pgcy when you are so huge. Worried me no end. All appears to be well though but no more 10 mile walks for me for the moment..... Have mw appt next week. I'm in a new area but they have a mw run unit which is supposed to be one of the best in Devon so I'm looking forward to the whole thing.

FirstNikki · 15/02/2006 10:09

Morning Ladies...how are we all?? well I was actually sick this morning feeling not bad at the moment though. Had lovely meal last night with dh he is a darling.

Hope you are all coping with the tiredness and sicky feelings.

x

nowanearlyNicemum · 15/02/2006 10:41

I hardly dare post to say that I'm feeling absolutely fine at the mo!
Possibly a bit more tired than usual but no sickness (yet ) whatsoever - and I was SO poorly with dd. Am keeping my fingers crossed it'll stay that way. How do you cope with little ones when you have your head down the loo all day????
Enjoy Paris majormoo. I lived there for 6 years (used to post as ParisMum) but most pregnant women I know over here don't go too mad on the cheese, pate and booze!!
How are you this morning, Piffle?

totallyfloaty35 · 15/02/2006 11:13

Hello ladies,i had dr apt this morning,he referring me for early scan due to previous ectopic,he told me i looked pale and then i started retching in his office think he was pleased when i left

nowanearlyNicemum · 15/02/2006 11:16

when do you go for your scan totallyfloaty?
I really must get to the drs...

totallyfloaty35 · 15/02/2006 11:24

HI Nicemum, apt should be next wk,as before 7 wks they cant see much, feel really sick today, the dreaded morning sickness has arrived

Piffle · 15/02/2006 13:59

I'm fine bit worried as have virtually no symptoms at all, very unlike my other pregnancies.
I'm off to see consultant tomorrow so fingers crossed all is ok....
Nikki hope the sickness was a one off

Piffle · 15/02/2006 14:00

floaty thats where I'm off to tomorrow, due to ectopci, so am being checked out in whatever way they need to do it...

twinkle183 · 15/02/2006 15:11

Hi ya Piffle, its good to get things checked out! Big hugs and I'm sure that everything is okay.

Is anyone else having trouble getting an appointment with their mw? They seem to be non-existent where I live at the mo.

I am still having spotting a couple of clots here and there, am a bit worried! Trying to stay positive.!

Still no sickness just a little bit of tiredness but nothing else to report.

Hope everyone had a good valentines day!

wuzzlefraggle · 15/02/2006 15:11

ladies...do you think that i could join...i did two tests today and they were both faint positives

FirstNikki · 15/02/2006 15:24

Congrats Wuzzle on your bfp! and welcome.

piffle and floaty hope your early scans go well

Twinkle are you getting any pains at all? I remain hopeful for you considering your first pg x

Piffle · 15/02/2006 15:52

Twinkle put some pressure on your local hospital maternity dept/services, ask them for early pregnancy advice, they'll get your nearest mw on the phone for sure or help you themselves if they can.
Welcome Wuzzle congrats on your bfp, may you be happy and healthy the whole trip!
Am hopeful about tomorrow, the consultant is a darling man, so I know I will be treated well.
Of course I'll be back to tell y'all about it!
