Another graduate of the ttc after a miscarriage thread...
shhh early days but first hurdle of actually getting a bfp sorted
lok forward to talking more as things become more assured

twinkle183 · 12/02/2006 20:10

Hi majormoo, congrats! I've told my mum and partners aunt, and a very close friend who is due in july but other than that no one knows. I know what you mean about telling people its hard to keep it a secret when your excited.

twinkle183 · 12/02/2006 20:11

Hi Piffle, congrats... keep smiling!

cupcakes · 12/02/2006 20:55

(very quietly) congrats Piffle!

beanymum · 12/02/2006 21:29

Found out yesterday that I'm pregnant at beginning of Oct 2006. Dd no 1 is 12.5 mths now and it was a bit of a surprise that we got pregnant so soon as first time took 15 months. Haven't seen Dr. yet - can't remember when you need to do this. Still breastfeeding no. 1 so not sure what to do - want to continue - is anyone else doing so? Not getting too excited until past 12 weeks stage but nice to know you are all out there.

Piffle · 12/02/2006 21:49

Congrats!
I'm thinking about heading to doctors fairly sharpish due to having an ectopic last year.
I also need to arrange a nuchal fold scan privately as they do not do them in my area, but I need one as dd has a rare genetic syndrome which is unlikely to occur in another child but we need to be aware of early on IYSWIM...
No sooner have you had the fab news, then you are worrying again!

FirstNikki · 13/02/2006 12:30

Afternoon ladies..

majormoo - your sister is fab for changing her travel arrangements so you can still go. Enjoy it

twinkle due oct 3rd I will start a stats thread for us all as there are a few of us now.

congrats piffle and beanymum on your bfps

well went for booking in appointment got same mw as last pg and I know she is nice. Had to have bloods done too...they couldn't find the vein in both arms! eventually a nurse did it in one arm after digging around. I was so uptight about it that I had contracted my veins (was wincing and hold my breath etc)...think will take something to take my mind off things next time cos my arms are killing and swollen. DH was with me though all the way so that was nice. Just got to take a pee sample to drs in the morning and wait for the scan to come through in the post, which should be earlier considering history.

FirstNikki · 13/02/2006 12:37

Here's the statistics thread for Due in Oct 2006 I have created, please feel free to add your details link. Thought it might be useful seeing as we are growing.

Rianna · 13/02/2006 15:14

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcomes.
Gemmy no, I'm not German (what made you think that?) but dutch and dh is italian.
(children are british :-))
I'm 6 weeks pregnant today and feel quite sick, but am happy cause that's a good sign.
did have 3 miscarriages between dd 1 and dd 2, always between 6 and 8 weeks, so will feel much better in two weeks time.

riley3 · 13/02/2006 16:01

Wow - forget to check the thread for a few days and all hell breaks loose! Hello and congrats to all newbies. Apteryx - thanks for the tip about chocolate being a key nutrient - of course it is - must keep that in mind.... Rianna - I'm sort of Dutch too in that my parent are and I can understand it a little but I never learnt to write in it so can't send you any cryptic messages! Well, at 7 weeks I appear (for the first time in any of my pg's) to have developed a little touch of morning sickness. Nothing to write home about but I'm trying desperately not to eat. Also dreaming constantly, the most outrageous dreams ever. Temper is definitely more trigger-happy too, but it does no harm to shake up the menfolk! Same as everyone, I kind of think - what if I'm not really pg and this is all a huge joke? We need a big party at 12 weeks!

totallyfloaty35 · 13/02/2006 16:57

Hi all the new guys, thers loads of us now!
I have gone off some foods, cant stop peeing and stomach bloated, but thats it for symptoms so far.Got to see dr on wednesday but i really dont feel pregnant as not started throwing up yet.

Piffle · 13/02/2006 19:25

I did a really tragic thing last night
I belonged to another site when pg with dd 4 yrs ago and went back through my old antenatal clubs note to see when my sickness started last time
answer was 43 days after LMP
I had serious hyperemesis, had none with ds but never stopped with dd.
It's the thing that scares me the most!

Annner · 13/02/2006 22:07

Hello!

The month moves on...
Just found out that I am expecting my second on 20 October. Still think that typing it will be tempting fate! eeek.

A bit queasy, like last time, and knackered, but otherwise OK

Annner

majormoo · 13/02/2006 22:27

Evening All

Hello everyone was has just joined.

well done for starting the stats thread Nikki as it is getting hard to keep track of us all aready!!

All OK here, although have felt a bit better today, which of course makes me worry.

off to bed now-good night!

Gemmitygem · 14/02/2006 03:12

Hi all,

First wave of nausea yesterday, but hasn't come back so that's a good thing.

Cried again at sad Russian TV show 'Zhdy menya 'wait for me' but it was really really sad this week! as this woman was reunited with her sister who she hadn't seen for 40 years. DH shook his head wearily and went to make the dinner!
Rianna, sorry, it's just I had a German friend called Rianna so wondered...

Great idea Nikki to start stats thread so we can see how many we are!

Going to tell parents on Friday, all being well...

How's everyone else feeling?

Piffle · 14/02/2006 08:31

Hi Anner you're about the same as me.
I'm dreading feeling queasy again...
I'm tired but cannot sleep... hungry but eating curious things, lots of light meals/snacks - protection methinks!
Also I burst into tears at the local news this morning as a trainee policewoman aged 25 has been shot and seriusly injured in Nottingha, and a massive fatal crash happened just 20 miles away, 7 people have died.
I'm not normally this easy to coax tears out of.
It's starting to feel a bit real now!

FirstNikki · 14/02/2006 09:18

Morning ladies,

Pffle last pg I started ms more or less straight away. This time its hit and miss only on odd occasion. I too have been more emotional its everything thats happening in our bodies.

Congrats on your bfp anner and welcome

Majormoo hope you are ok today and not worrying.

Well 'cos I am getting tired earlier dh looks at me and says no you can't be tired you not going bed are you? Well can't get him to understand that this baby creating is knackering and when tired gotta sleep.

hana · 14/02/2006 09:39

congraulations to everyone who has joined the thread!
just want to moan, I feel so awful, feel sick and so v tired most of the day, not sleeping well
and my girls are getting little attention out of me, it's all I can do to get them breakfast and get them dressed, am happy that it's half term. not ready to tell anyone yet and ask for help from friends
can't wait to have some energy back

FirstNikki · 14/02/2006 09:47

hana sorry you are so exhausted but remember it won't be for long and the reward at the end is great and don't beat yourself up about the amount of attention you give. Pop a dvd on or get them to draw pictures and they can then show you where they can be occupied giving you time to sit and rest where possible?

hana · 14/02/2006 09:57

ahh nicki yo've got me in teARS now
still not sunk in that I'm pregnant, have had lots of probs in past, havent called doctors yet either
we are away next week , first time in ages, and I'm going to spend the entire time sleeping or bing sick! poor dh
girls are great, dd1 is learning how to tie her sneakers and dd1 is just happy to be here
i nkow it won't last but I feel so grimmmmmm
but thaks for making me feel bit b etter

FirstNikki · 14/02/2006 10:37

FirstNikki · 14/02/2006 10:38

and dd1 could be occupied with her laces

booge · 14/02/2006 10:43

Hi everyone, Can I join the feeling grim club, constantly nauseaous and completely shattered. I've taken a day off work today for the dating scan only for it to be canceled. To be honest I'm just glad of the day off, although I don't know if I feel worse when I've got time on my hands. I reckon I'm about 7 weeks gone so only another 7 weeks of nausea to go!(If I'm lucky) I'm using the MorningWell CD and I can't make my mind up if it helps or not, I'm also trying homeopathy ...to be honest I'd try anything! Carbs..ahh now they do help but I'm desperate not to repeat the 5 stone weight gain of last time.

Piffle · 14/02/2006 11:17

Can I moan about my absolute turd of a morning?
Right, tried for doc again today as was told that after ectopci you need to get early scans and sometimes bloods etc
So have tried since saturday but am not deemed enough of an emergency for a same day appt and the bookable appts are all 3 weeks away
So I shouted at the receptionist and said sod her I@d got straight through to the EPU myself
So I did and they were lovely.
Then I got some pink when I wiped
Totally fell apart crying
Before pulling myself together and speaking to midwife who has booked me in with gynae obst consultant thursday.
She told me to do another preg test and it was a strong + so she said that was good as was symptoms, and that breakthrough bleeding is very common.
Then to rest and relax.
There has been no more pink and I'm trying to relax but not doing very well...
This is such hard work, I wish wish my dp was here to boot me into reality...

nowanearlyNicemum · 14/02/2006 11:23
