Whiffy-I am the most ratty person on the planet. Have absolutlely no patience with DH. I think it is because of the ridiculous tiredness. I've been so tired I have missed 'ER' two weeks running-though did stay up for 'Desperate Housewives'!

Gemmitygem-it sounds promising so fingers and toes crossed for you.

Nikki, easier said than done I know, but try not to worry too much about work. It is totally out of your control and even if the worst happens, you will get through it. There will be other jobs out there.

Hana, it's good to hear from someone who's been in a similar situation to me (though obviously you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy.)

As for good things about pregnancy, these early weeks are just generally rubbish. However, I LOVED watching my bump grow with DD and there really is nothing better in the world than hearing the heartbeat or feeling them kick. On the negative side, the piles were AGONY and when you are the only sober person in a room conversations can get a bit er repetitive!!

whiffy · 10/02/2006 12:20

Oh NO!!!!!!

I'd forgotten about being the only sober person in the room. Rats. That isn't fun, especially when DH realises he can get drunk ALL THE TIME because you're able to do all the driving.....

Glad to know I'm not the only nutty one. I taped Desperate Housewives Wed night then got up and watched it 3 am Thursday morning cos had to have a pee and couldn't go back to sleep!

FurstNikki - hang in there and try not to stress about the job. You will get through whatever happens, and with stuff like jobs I think we always end up looking back 5 yrs later and thinking "that was the best thing that ever happened to me". I got made redundant in my mid-20's, lost my house, lost my partner (good riddance!) and ended up moving back to my Mums' house for 6 months. And you know what? Yeah Yeah. But it's true...You'll be fine, whatever happens.

Off to Dr's today. Last time whne I was at this stage she signed me off for 2 weeks rest because my blood pressure was a bit low and I looked 'peaky', so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If Carlserg made doctors they'd probably all be like this

sorry about that! didn't do it on purpose! (hormones?)

FirstNikki · 10/02/2006 14:58

Hi Rianna and congrats on the bfp even if it was a surprise. how old are you children?

don't worry about the repeat posts I think mumsnet has got quite slow recently and takes a while to post message

Rianna · 10/02/2006 15:54

Hi Nikki, thnaks for the welcome.I will have to read this thread to get to know everybody.
I have 2 daughters: 11 and nearly 8 and my son is nearly 5.
Excuses for poor English : not my first language.

Apteryx · 10/02/2006 19:26

Hi Octoberians, I've just discovered I'm pg with no2, who is due on 18th October. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah! My DD is nearly 21mths. I live in Australia, so I'll be sneaking in my posts when nobody is looking! Congratulations to all of you - especially the first timers, it is such an exciting journey.

It's such a temptation to tell everyone early, as my last pregnancy was so easy (except SPD), but I'm reminding myself that I'd hate having to tell people that something went wrong. The suspense will kill me!

3kids · 11/02/2006 06:29

Hello hope everyone is ok, i am finally feeling a bit better still very tired. I have developed a stomach even dh said you can see i don't remeber showing with the others i just hope there only one in there!

congrats Apteryx on your bfp and welcome we have nice ladies on here. Wishing you a healthy pg. I know what you mean about keeping hush hush I can't wait until scan.

hi 3kids glad you are feeling better, with these bellies growing I don't know how much longer the secret can be kept

I am feeling much better from the cold and almost recovered.

booge · 11/02/2006 09:16

Hi Everyone and congratulations to everyone who has joined the thread since I last posted.

I had a horrible cold last week and now the morning sickness has started...I was hoping to get away with it this time. I've just bought the MorningWell CD which is supposed to help with the nausea, only listened to it once so I'll let you know if it helps. Last time nothing helped except eating and I ballooned. Also I'm completely wiped out, I wake up in the morning and feel like I need another nights sleep, no good with a 9 month old who wants to get up and play.

Sorry to hear about your job worries FirstNikki, I'm not looking forward to telling my work as I only came back from maternity leave after Xmas.

majormoo · 11/02/2006 10:37

morning all and welcome to Rianna and Apteryx.

I feel dreadful. Apart from the tiredness, have a HUGE sty on my eye which is driving me crazy. I am prone to them when pregnant so I suppose it must mean I am a bit run down.

My brother-in law and his girlfriend came round for dinner last night, and we ended up telling them. I just felt too awful to carry on the pretence. We would tell them anyway if things go wrong again, and they are very trustworthy so we don't have to worry about them telling people.

Now off to ring my sister, who is in the middle of wedding plans. I have so many hen dos and weddings this summer. One of my sister's 3 (!) hen dos is in Barcelona. I don't really want to go if pregnant as not keen on flying, but the negative side of me says I may as well plan to go anyway as something might go wrong again. Hum-haven't got long to decide what to do.

Apteryx · 11/02/2006 11:19

Hi Guys - thanks for the welcome

Booge - I know what you mean about the eating, I had exactly the same thing last time too. I'm determined to stick to healthy food this time, instead of going for the dense fatty food that settles a queasy tummy! Of course chocolate (a key nutrient for growing babies) is excluded

evenhope · 11/02/2006 16:29

Hello all. I've just had a BFP and by my calculations it's Oct 16th. I was in the march 2006 anc but miscarried in August so I'm really worried, as you can imagine.

I'm a regular but this is an alternative name because no-one in RL knows. I posted on the march thread as oldfool because the last time was a slight accident, but I'm hoping this time will work out.

Just got really really sore boobs and I've had about 2 weeks of period-type pains. Feels like a long haul to the magic 12 weeks.

majormoo · 11/02/2006 17:40

Welcome Evenhope. I was on the March 06 thread as well until August. Here's hoping this one is much luckier for us!

Gemmitygem · 12/02/2006 09:11

Welcome Apteryx, Rianna and Evenhope! Rianna, are you German by any chance?

Glad your cold's better Nikki.

Well I cracked and did another test yesterday, and the positive came up within seconds, very dark and even before the control line came up. So worries are more at bay now. Plus was amazed at all the ladies on the other thread who had bleeding but then healthy baby.

So will (try) to stop going on about it now and just wait for 12 weeks. Though thinking about telling my mum and dad at 6 weeks. Are you all waiting till 12 weeks to tell?

twinkle183 · 12/02/2006 10:10

Hi just found out that i'm pregnant with baby no. 2 Due on Oct 12th. I hate the early weeks cos theres all that worry. Have been having spotting only in the mornings which is quite weird! But in my 1st pregnancy i had two periods in the early months and hes now two. But its hard to worry. Congrats to everyone due in Oct.

FirstNikki · 12/02/2006 10:17

congrats evenhope on your bfp wishing you a healthy pg.

majormoo hope you are feeling better soon.

Booge glad to see you back was wondering how you were.

Gem pleased you are more relaxed now havnig done another test and spoken to others. With regards to telling we said tell no one until 12 scan, but then managed to get dh to allow us to tell parents and cos of things at work and first mw apt on monday I have told them but no one else. just in case.

Didn't have much sleep last night woke at just before 2am ended up gong downstairs and having a drink and watching the telly so going to be tired later. mil cooking us dinner so that will be nice.

Hope the sickness and colds aren't effecting evryone too much and its nice to see more graduates joining the thread.

Enjoy your day

FirstNikki · 12/02/2006 10:20

congrats twinkle on your bfp !
try not too worry too much re spotting, if you did it last pg it might be just what you do. But ...and this goes for us all...if worried about anything its best to seek help where possible.

Best of luck to everyone! can't wait for the next few weeks to fly by..

twinkle183 · 12/02/2006 10:24

Thanks FirstNikki. Congrats on yours, when are you due? I can't wait til the 12 weeks scan. The 12th Oct is my calculation so just waiting to get the date checked out, cos last pregnancy I thought I was only what I am now and it turned out to be longer. So, we'll see but will keep the room posted with the results.

majormoo · 12/02/2006 15:52

hello Twinkle!

Gemmitygem-great news that everything is looking OK. Re telling people, I told my sister yesterday (she is now going to Paris via Eurostar instead of Barcelona for the hen celebrations) and brother-in-law and his girlfriend know. Am planning not to tell anyone else until much later, but will see how it goes. As I usually drink lots of wine, am a caffeine addict, love runny cheese, pate and salami, parma ham etc, it won't be that hard for people to guess!!
