Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
nowanearlyNicemum · 14/03/2006 16:02

It's now 5pm and I haven't managed to keep a single thing down all day - not even water.
Fortunately dd has been an absolute star all day and hasn't been too demanding....Unfortunately the lying still is very attractive but totally impossible with dd!!
Have tried ginger stuff - nothing doing. Am just hoping tomorrow will be another day. Thanks for your ideas.

booge · 14/03/2006 17:39

If it's any consolation to those of you suffering with morning sickness mine has started to lift at 11 1/2 weeks. I feel I can cope again. Fingers crossed you will all be feeling better soon too.

wuzzlefraggle · 14/03/2006 20:17

nowandnearlynicemum - im sorry that you are feeling so rough, it must be very draining on you :( i really do hope that it starts to get eaier on you.
i feel silly now for complaining about feeling sicky when i read about what some of the rest of you are going though...

marthahm - i bet that it doesnt half get on your nerves!! i agree with whiffy about how to deal with it Grin

take is easy every1 and i hope that you are all ok xoxox

hana · 14/03/2006 20:30

just saying hi
feel lousy, am still sick few times a day
have no energy except to walk dd to preschool, I drive to pick herup, cant wait until this lifts

Gemmitygem · 15/03/2006 02:50

Is anyone else crying constantly and generally behaving like a moody 13 year old. Cried all yesterday evening after I thought DH said something insensitive, and feel v puffy this morning!

Mainly driven by fear of the birth (already!), but anything sets it off. Is this a first timer prob or are you lot suffering as well?

sparkly1 · 15/03/2006 08:05

No so much crying as feeling sorry for myself and for being so sick all the time. I feel pathetic. If I were a man this would be the worst case of man flu ever. It's that bad. I'm not at work again today because of it. Woke up at 3 feeling so nauseated. Didn't get back to sleep at all. I have a lovely dd who brought me toast at around 630 but even my miracle remedy ain't remedying anything lately.

We're supposed to be having friends over on Friday night. I don't want to anymore. I am in hibernate mode already.

Gem, one thing I never worried about was the birth and I am a wimp. The way I saw it was it was inevitable, there was no way around it, so I didn't think too much about it until the end. Don't know if that's called avoidance but it worked for me!

MumtoLaura · 15/03/2006 09:05

Hi Gem, I worried a lot about the birth when I was pregnant the first time. I'm not good with pain and I used to panic and cry every time I thought about it. But I had an epidural which helped a lot and Sparkly is right, by all means get the facts and be informed, then if you can try not to dwell on it. If I can get through it anybody can.

whiffy · 15/03/2006 09:16

Hey Gemmity, chill. You're doing all the normal things. I was in floods of tears yesterday when I was driving DS home. We have a childrens tape and I was singing along to 'Two little boys' when suddenly the words made me start crying. Then the same happened with 'My grandfathers' clock' and finally I was completely sobbing by the time we got to the end of 'Puff the magic dragon'.

Ever tried explaining to your husband that the reason you have just spent 3 minutes sobbing in his arms is because the nursery rhymes are too sad? Nah, I wasn't that daft, told him instead that someone had upset me at work Wink

Also v normal to get scared silly over the birth and that won't change, though going to NCT classes and stuff can help. The funny thing is when you actually get there the reality is worse than you imagine, but it kind of doesn't really matter at all. Difficult to explain, but try to bear in mind that women willingly go through it more than once, so can't be that terrifying, or else we'd all have elective c's the second time round Smile My friends and I agree that it makes it sooo much easier to get through if you have had the good sense to get your mum to explain to DH in advance that the provision of new babies must be rewarded with a handsome fistful of bling next day Grin

booge · 15/03/2006 10:52

I'm with you on the bling Whiffy, I got nothing last time so I've started hinting already, ok maybe not so much hinting, more arm twisting Grin

Annelouise · 15/03/2006 11:20

Hi everyone beleive me Gemmitygem I had a horrible 1st labour and swore I would never go through it again now look at me. The moment you hold your baby all the pain will vanish. Also get on the gas and air and you'll soon be on another planet!

majormoo · 15/03/2006 11:59

morning. Hum I didn't quite get bling. I got a garden gnome seat thing. However it did make me laugh on the morning before I went in for my induction, so it did the trick.

Gemmitygem-hopefully your antenatal classes will help. I did NCT ones which were great for meeting other mums but a bit twee on the birth side. Our NHS ones were fantastic for preparing for the birth though-we had a brilliant midwife who made us feel like birth was something exciting and empowering rather than frightening. She even showed us photos of her home birth-all very Brighton!!

going4potty · 15/03/2006 20:39

Just a quick post hi, good luck everyone will post properly when feeling less tired, progesterone is a terrible thing eh?

Gemmitygem · 16/03/2006 03:41

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your support: have calmed down a bit now. Going to order the 'Birthing from within book' and the baby book by Yehudi Gordon. And try and chill!

It's snowing again here and minus 3 which is a bit sad, but DH is happy and has skived off work to go snowboarding.

Will try to go to NCT even though it's a bit complicated cos haven't worked out when to come back to the UK, and also thinking of having the baby in Belgium.

Anyway hope you're all fine and looking forward to the weekend!

paow · 16/03/2006 12:57

Hi everyone, hope you're all OK.
I've found in the last couple of days that I have lost my appetite (never thought I'd say this!) I find it really difficult to eat dinner and gone off my tea, which is really weird.
Trying to have as much as poss at lunch but I just spent an hour in the canteen trying to finsih a veggie curry... :( I feel really under the weather!!
DH had a go at me yesterday for not wanting any dinner! I started crying... poor dh he started apologising...
Take care all.

totallyfloaty35 · 16/03/2006 13:14

Paow,im the same, just cant get excited about food and i get full up really quickly,i know i have to eat to keep the sickness at bay but i just dont fancy anything.Discovered i have LOST half a stone since i got pregnant.Dont know where the weight has gone though as boobs huge and heavy and tummy extremaly bloated

totallyfloaty35 · 16/03/2006 14:37

Wow i feel really rough, sore throat, runny nose, thumping headache and really sick with stomach pains(cant tell if sickness/bad belly is to do with pg or having a cold though)What can i take,if anything?really confused as cant remember what i did during last pg as so long ago

riley3 · 16/03/2006 14:58

Hi there Oct 06 girls. Just checking in to say thank you all so much for your good wishes. It looks like my mc is finally finishing. Everyone has been amazing - dh, work, every professional I've dealt with - and you lot! Smile. I'm still tired and emotional but I have every hope for trying again asap.

Sparkly - so sorry to hear about your friend - I was following her progress with interest.
Twinkle - thinking of you. I know this will be an absolute nightmare time for you but one way or another you will come out the other end.

Now that you are all hitting 12 weeks or so we don't want any more scares. Stay well, the lot of you!

Byeee.......

Poppyshed · 16/03/2006 20:31

Hi Riley3, nice to hear from you. Glad you're doing okay. Hello to everyone else, hope you're all doing fine. All's quiet in the world of Poppyshed, but nice to see everyone's about.

sparkly1 · 17/03/2006 08:51

Riley, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Make sure you take of yourself and get plenty of rest.

My friend had her cvs on Wednesday which just confirmed what the scan showed last Friday. She's having her termination today. I saw her Tuesday for an hour or so an she was coping pretty well. They were due to get married next Fri but have postponed till May now in light of circumstances.

twinkle183 · 17/03/2006 10:40

I am so sorry to hear your news riley3, my bleeding has stopped and I have started feeling very sick Sad espcially when around any form of poultry....

I spoke to my mw the other day and she seemed to think that I may of been carrying twins and lost one, hence the gestation bag being 9 wks and the baby that was left being only 4 wks. I am keeping my chin up and trying to stay hopeful these past few days have been hell and every day that I wake up and find that I am not bleeding the more hope I feel that everything will be okay.... I will let you all know what is happening my next scan is not until 27th can't wait to finally know what it going on...

I hope that everyone else is having a happy and healthy pregnancy... I talk to you again soon

majormoo · 17/03/2006 11:14

nice to hear from you riley. Take it easy.

Twinke hope the weeks go fast for you (although I know that is unlikely.)

I am OK but (sorry if TMI) not sure if I am getting an infection or something. I have noticed white bits in my wee and have no idea if this is normal or if I am getting thrush or something (which I am a bit prone to from time to time.) Not seeing midwife til 28th so a while til I can ask

whiffy · 17/03/2006 13:44

Never heard of white bits in wee - maybe should give midwife a call - might be protein or something. No doubt nothing to worry about but easy to get worked up over stuff like that so I'd get on the phone for reassurance...
Riley, Best of luck for future.
wish I could say I'd lost half a stone but no, am bursting out everywhere...nausea really kicikin gin bad now - keeps waking me up in the middle of the night.
I finally told my boss I was pg and he wasn't too bad about it. The dreadful thing is I have totally switched off work-wise. Really don't give a rats arse about my emails and projects and stuff. Very unprofessional, but really don't care...

Justers · 17/03/2006 16:45

Hi there! I too have white bits in my wee!! I work in a hospital so was able to do a urine test and looks like i've gat a urine infection. Phoned my doctor and he asked if i had any symptoms-which i do (sore when i'm at the toilet, never away from toilet and generally feeling more crappy than normal!) So he prescribed antibiotics to help clear things up. Maybe you should see your doc or nurse if you have other symptoms just to make sure you don't have an infection also.

sparkly1 · 17/03/2006 17:49

I weighed myself today after seeing the half stone weight loss on here and have lost nearly a stone Shock. I don't actually know why I'm shocked because I keep next to nothing down. I think I'm doing ok then, wham, I'm sick again. Plus everything doesn't fit so I'm clearly getting rounder regardless of weight gain. I have my scan next week so at least I'll know then just how many weeks I am without just speculating and my first midwife appointment the week after.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. I'm doing very little because that's all I can manage!

cece · 17/03/2006 18:01

Might be worth taking urine sample to docs as it osunds like either a urine infection or thrush.
