Hi All - I'm due 10th October, thought I'd stop lurking and say Hi. I'm going for a dating scan a week today, privately, as I'm having problems even getting a midwife appointment! I have irregular periods and want a nuchal fold so I need to know how many weeks I am.

Wuzzlefraggle - I've been getting stomach cramps - like indigestion really.

whiffy · 20/02/2006 11:12

Hey everyone. Congrats to the new joiners. Have been off the link for a while as have been a bit down because I started spotting and all my pg symptoms seemed to have dropped. But then I had totally pointless row with Husband on Friday which confirmed my hormones are still kicking it up there, so I'm keeping fingers crossed.
I'm with you all on the pg test addiction. I ran out and had to buy more so got 4 double packs in Boots on Saturday. Sales assistant didn't bat an eyelid so I assume this is quite a common thing for nutty people to do when pg.
Am already 3 kilos heavier and had to rummage round house to find the old 'pillowy' bras from last time.

I wanted to pass on a recommendation which won't help Gemmitygem I'm afraid but might be useful to the rest of you.... I was in M&S at the weekend and their new range of spring/summer stuff is going to be FAB for us all, especially for the working mums amongst us .... their 'double layer' tops all have stretch cotten vests underneath with a floaty layer on top, which will give plenty of room for growth and the dresses are all cutaway from under the boobs and don't tie in at waist. And loads of stretchy fabrics, jersey and stuff. My description here is hopeless I'm afraid but if you check their website you'll see what I'm driving at. I am so ridiculously over the moon. When I was pg with DS back in 2003 I managed to pick the only year in the history of British Fashion when dresses went out of fashion. It was a nightmare. I kid you not, even Laura Ashley didn't stock dresses that summer, so to find real clothes this time round is so cool. Now all I have to do is guess how heavy I'm likely to get this time round so I can buy them up before they sell out........

nowanearlyNicemum · 20/02/2006 11:14

congratulations MumtoLaura!
I'm going for a dating scan this afternoon - very excited!!!

hope you're all well

booge · 20/02/2006 12:22

Everything is ok, we saw the hearbeat and everything is where it should be so panic over. The bleeding was just one of those things and the pains probably just streaching. FirstNikki I'm thinking of you and hope your result is good news too. [hugs] xxx

riley3 · 20/02/2006 12:30

Great tip re M&S, Whiffy. Any excuse to shop there anyway! I was also due with DS2 in summer of 2003 (so hot I couldn't actually go out, nevermind worry about what I was going to be seen in!). This time it's all going to be so much better, although I feel so much worse! I'm wondering if I should be stressing more about my dating scan, being ancient and all. I've got my 1st mw appt this Thurs so I'll see what she says. Good news for the scan Booge and good luck for tomorrow am FirstNikki !

nowanearlyNicemum · 20/02/2006 15:02

back from my scan - fairly inconclusive
it's too early to see much so I have to go back in about 10 days time for another one.
oh well, at least the sac is where it should be - I was so looking forward to seeing a bean on the screen.
will just have to be patient....

wuzzlefraggle · 20/02/2006 15:07

im sorry that you were'nt as please with your scan as you thought you would be nowandnearly. im sure that the next one will have a clearer pic

how many weeks are you?

nowanearlyNicemum · 20/02/2006 15:20

well, that's just it
that's why I had the scan - because I have a REALLY irregular cycle so I'm not sure how pregnant I am -
and all they can say is it's too early to tell
oh well, the little blighter's there anyway - that's the main thing

FirstNikki · 20/02/2006 16:08

booge thats wonderful news that everything is ok. have been thinking of you. I am on count down for mine have mixed emotions about it but at least will know tomo. This is start of my milestone week too so really do have everything crossed. thanks for the wishes xxx

Hope it goes well today, firstnikki, thinking of you. xx

beanymum · 21/02/2006 10:32

Thinking of all of you who are having scans/bleeding. I am going to have scan in a min. - chichester seems very fast - i've only just been to see doc. about bleeding/not feeling pregnant. A word of worning about pg tests - apparently they can still show positive if you've miscarried or indeed show -ve as you get further into pregnancy. That's what doc just told me. Was hoping for him to be upbeat but was non committal. I suppose they have seen it all go wrong many times before. Anyway will check later to see how things gone with the rest of you. Am crossing everything.

majormoo · 21/02/2006 10:48

beanymum/firstnikki-hope your scans go well today- thinking of you.

Am very behind on all the posts as have not had a chance to log on for a while, hope everyone is OK and hello to everyone who's just joined.

paow · 21/02/2006 11:57

Hi everyone!
Just found out I'm 5 weeks, due 24 of October.
I had a MC mid December 05 and I'm very scared now. My experience in the Early Preg Unit at the hospital was horrendous and don't want to go thru that again!
The one I had was at 8 weeks so fingers crossed the next two months go quick quick!

Take care.
P

nowanearlyNicemum · 21/02/2006 12:06

congratulations paow!!
fingers crossed all will go well for you this time

any news from FirstNikki????

FirstNikki · 21/02/2006 12:29

Hi ladies,

Well not good news I am afraid, had both internal and external scans, they don't think it will be viable have sac, no heartbeat and think can see feotal pole. measures for 6.4wks and I should be 8.4 got another scan next Friday unless something happens before. MW said in her exp. this will not be viable. Also have a fybroid which is squashing the sac although they say this would not be the cause.

beanymum best of luck with your scan.

best of luck to all of you x

majormoo · 21/02/2006 12:42

Nikki. Really sorry to hear that. Make sure you put your feet up and get lots of hugs tonight.

Missmibaby · 21/02/2006 12:55

FN - so sorry to hear that.

Paow - congratulations - I'm exactly same number of weeks. Have had 2 previous MC. Just got back from docs. He did 2 tests. One of them the control line failed. The other was a BFP. Told to test at the end of week. Like you I'm just wishing the days away!!
