Welcome Boostar...that is a lovely story. Congrats on your BFP Grin

Psam I am working today but will be thinking of you and will check back in when I can....good luck x x x x

I had a dream last nigh that the wee baby was born and hubby wouldn't let me have a go with it, every time it cried he took it away! Yesterday I had a dream he was cheating on me as he had decided he didn't want a wee baby at all! So for 2 days running I have woken up really cross with him and refused his morning snuggle Blush Poor hubby!

Watched OBEM last night but think I'm gonna stop. Its making me cross....Its all first timers, strapped down on the bed by ctg and edipuralised to the hilt. That's not birth....its baby extraction!

I am tired this morning.....I think its making me grumpy Blush

Tennerlady · 08/03/2012 07:49

Good luck Psammed. Welcome newbies.
Don't want to sound too depressing, but I am resound to the fact now that I will not be posting here much longer. I am actually feeling much better after one whole night of almost uninterupted sleep. My boss is amazing and knows whats going on and has let me me flexible with working from home taking some leave etc. I will check in next Monday to tell you my scan outcome and say a final farewell. (Unless a miracle happens of course).

Psammead · 08/03/2012 08:47

Back.

Cried my eyes out in front of the doctor - the baby was there! Heart was beating, I saw a head, arms legs - everything absolutely fine. Due date now 12th but tbh I think my dates are correct so I'm keeping with the 10th.

I have never been so relieved. I was sure it had all gone wrong, so sure.

Sorry for being a pain in the butt, moping around the thread and thank you so much for your support.

CottonSock - I feel for you. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you for Monday. I really really hope it is ok.

Winnie81 · 08/03/2012 09:07

That's fantastic news psammead!

Cotton, fingers crossed for Monday, let's hope it's positive news too x

Amazing news Psammead!

MakeTeaNotWar · 08/03/2012 11:21

So pleased for you psam what a relief, I am practically crying for you. Hang in there cotton, really really hope you get good news on Monday, the waiting is unbearable. How are you physically now?

Finally had my booking-in appointment this morning and got a date for the 12 week scan which is in exactly 2 weeks time. The wait is so long! I have no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever so I will be relieved to see a baby in there and not just a giant donut.

Midwife feels I am an ideal candidate for a homebirth and while I am not 100% decided yet, I am certainly leaning that way - anyone else? Also thinking about giving hypnobirthing a crack this time round too. I listened to the CD last time and did use some of the affirmations in labour, I may go the whole hog this time....

HettyTurner · 08/03/2012 11:41

Morning!

Still feelinging pregnant here, almost chucked up in the car this morning and my boobs are killing me. No spotting or anything so I'm still feeling hopeful bean will be there on Monday. If not it's nature's cruel.

Psam so happy that your scan went well, I hope I have a similar experience on Monday.

HeyMicky · 08/03/2012 11:51

Tea I'm the same - no symptoms, scan next Wednesday and I'm dying with the wait, I also wanted a homebirth, as Queen Charlotte kicks you out anyway after about 4 hours, provided there are no complications, but husband put his foot down, so birthing unit it is. Did you find the hypnobirth CD useful? I'm thinking CD for that, then an active birth course and a breast feeding workshop, as well as NCT.

Cotton fingers crossed for Monday

GizzyBoo · 08/03/2012 12:26

psam YAY......excellent news!! Now you can get on and enjoy your pregnancy Grin

cotton I am so sorry for you. Try and stay positive. It might all be fine yet! Good luck for Monday.......
.....You too Hetty

Tea I have told the docs I will be wanting a home birth this time round. A number of risk assessments will have to be done due to our location but if all goes well I shall be popping out the wee button here in the living room Grin

I have just done a half day today, just got home. Don't know whether to eat, throw up, cry, have a bath or sleep first......I feel so very tired Blush

I am upset with hubby as he will not tell his parents about the wee button for fear of their reaction! Its making me feel like we have something to be ashamed of Sad This is a much wanted baby, we have been married and supporting ourselves for almost 15 years. I just want him to be proud to tell them that we have made another beautiful baby. I am being irrational and hormonal aren't I Blush

MakeTeaNotWar · 08/03/2012 12:48

Oh gizzy what a shame and how frustrating as he's a grown man! Well he's going to have to tell them sooner or later and I bet they'll be overjoyed at another beautiful grandchild.

Mickey even though I'm not really into yoga etc the CD was definitely very relaxing and helped me think positively and usefully of contractions as waves of energy and surges of power so yes, I would recommend it if you are open to that kind of thing. Pain is complicated by stress and tension, it's amazing how relaxing and breathing properly brings all kinds of relief.

I think a MLU attached to a hospital is the perfect solution but unfortunately we don't have that option here in Brighton so I went to a standalone unit 20 miles away. It was a wonderful experience and I wouldn't change a thing but labour was fast at 4 hours so I don't fancy the journey again. A homebirth and an MLU are similar really if you think that the midwives are similarly equipped and highly skilled and depending on far you are from hospital, a transfer should be lightening quick if required.

LoopyLa · 08/03/2012 12:57

Psamm Excellent news! I bet you're well relieved?!!

MakeTea Giant doughnut? Grin I feel very similar, I have some nausea & am SO tired, but boobs are fine etc. I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow (the baby of the group!) and the scan seems like such a long time to wait! Also I've been lurking on the November thread & a few people have already had their booking appt - a mw hasn't flipping contacted me yet! Hmm

I am very tempted to tell my Mum on Mother's Day next week but scared to share news and then it all be for nothing...

Cottonsock keeping fingers crossed x

GizzyBoo · 08/03/2012 13:26

Thanks Tea.....I just need him to grow a pair and tell them. The longer he leaves it the more awkward it will be.

I have started telling people...it was killing me to keep quiet Blush Just my mate, parents, 2 sisters and my bro though and they are all sworn to secrecy. Oh and of course the other kids know.

I think my belly is growing already Shock

Hi thunder yes went to Crowborough and it was lovely, so homely. There were only 2 other Mums there so I had a lovely room to myself and you can stay as long as you like, they don't kick you out. My midwives had been a team for 27 years so super-experienced and grandmotherly, I trusted them implicitly.

We came from Brighton which is about 20 miles I think and probably took less than half an hour at 4am. It was an excruciating journey, I won't lie but I think it would be anyway? And really it could take just as long getting to the Royal Sussex especially at rush hour, waiting at traffic lights and looking for parking. Wholeheartedly recommend Crowborough!

GizzyBoo · 08/03/2012 13:54

Awwww Thunder that bit isn't easy is it? I had to explain about MC and ectopic to the midwife and she was lovely.....then had to explain again to the doc and he said (actual quote) "Oh well, at least you know what one feels like now hey!" Shock I didn't know what to say!

I am still waiting for a date for my NT scan. I am now not sure if I actually want to go ahead and have it. Even if it showed up any problems I really don't think it would make a difference to my continuing of the pregnancy.....who am I trying to kid....I could never terminate this baby...the NT scan is a complete waste of time! But would I want to know anyway??? Confused

Psammead · 08/03/2012 13:55

Thanks everyone Grin

I wish all the scanees best of luck for next week.

My ideal labour would be to be totally knocked out as soon as the first twinge hits and to be woken up fully just after the baby is born and then to bugger off home Grin I lasted two days in the hospital last time before begging to be allowed home.

Gizzy, I actually started wearing maternity trousers yesterday. Not massively needed but oooooh they are so comfy Grin

Beeblebear · 08/03/2012 13:56

Ygizzy, have you talked to him about why he doesn.t want to tell them?
My dh said the same thing, and I aasked why. He said he wanted to wait until things were for sure. I tmen asked him who he would want for support if anything did go wrong, and he quickly changed his mind.

O,k who else has a car that looks like this?

1/2 eaten bag of trail mix
1/2 eaten sleeve of soda crackers
1/2 carton of orange juice
1/2 eaten bag of cookies

Psammead · 08/03/2012 14:02

Maybe he still can't believe it's really true. I hope he comes round soon, it sounds upsetting although I am sure he doesn't mean it to be.

Do we always have to do the stats? I keep forgetting.

31/9+1/#2

Psammead · 08/03/2012 14:05

I don't have a car but my handbag is a bit like that Grin

Two different packets of mints to stave off sickness.
Two freezer bags in case the mints dont work and I have to throw up somewhere public.
Tissues for constant blocked nose.
Water bottles.

MsInterpret · 08/03/2012 14:24

Hooray for psaammead's little bean!

Naughtily checking in from work while the children are outside bc I wanted to know how things went!

I am suffering majorly from the bloat today - I have SUCH a belly through my dress Blush.

Oh, actually it might be the gazillion biscuits I ate this morning. double Blush
